  • 【How to remove Cyanobacteria (Blue green algae,Green slime)】
    「I'm having trouble with cyanobacteria appearing on my soils and water plants.」
    「We need to get rid of the cyanobacteria right away.」
    「I've gotten rid of cyanobacteria many times, but they've come back quickly and I'm having trouble with them.」
    This video is very useful for such people.
    First of all, I explain in detail how to get rid of cyanobacteria immediately and then never come out again!
    For my translated videos,there will be times when the audio will be out of sync,
    This is due to not needing as much time to explain things in English
    It will sound off and I am sorry.
    【The original version in Japanese is here.】

    What would you do if BGA grows behind the thick background plants? Trimming them would help but that would also ruin the layout.

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Official WASABI Moderator: I recommend you do a 2-3 day blackout to your aquarium. Leave the filter on but the light off, covering the aquarium with a blanket to block out any traces of light. Do daily water changes and syphon out any dead BGA. Thanks for watching! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

      You could also place a small powerhead behind the plants to increase flow. I put my powerhead on a timer with my co2, I find this helps.

    hi, may i know if ADA Bacter 100 will breakdown by itself? I applied over the BGA, but it looks messy. Will it decompose over time?

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ADA Bacter 100 is used under the substrate, not to treat BGA. - Official WASABI Aquarium Channel Moderator

    i have tiny patches of cyano all across my 60cm tank, can i just use ADA Phyton Git plus to cure it?

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Official WASABI Moderator: Hi Yap, yes ADA Phyton Git works specifically for Cyanobacteria. Please drip it directly on the affected locations of Cyanobacteria. Also, please check NORI aqua channel for my exclusive interview.

    Is there a cheaper alternative to the phyton git sol?

    • @NORIaquaCh
      @NORIaquaCh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Official WASABI Moderator: Hi Steve, thanks for stopping by. As BGA is photosynthetic, with alternatives to ADA Phyton Git Sol, you must do a 1 to 3 day total back-out (cover the tank of all light with a blanket) to the aquarium. You must not introduce light. Before covering the tank, you can use 3% w/w Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) (1.5ml per 4.5 liters of aquarium water), or Seachem Excel (Glutaraldehyde) (use as directed on the bottle). Ensure the solution used is evenly diluted in the aquarium. Do 80% water change everyday (make sure you syphon out the visible BGA), then re-dose H2O2 or Seachem Excel. Repeat until BGA is non-visible or gone. This method is snail and shrimp safe. Hope this helps, and remember to like and share with your friends! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

    Or,use Erythromycin..and don't tell anybody. The antibiotic is not toxic to fish or plants. It kills gram negative bacteria and as it kills off BGA,i see it also kills brown and BBA. It's not something for regular use at all- NOBODY says for regular use. But if your mega high tech aquarium gets overrun by the disease called blue green algae,Erythromycin is a life saver of last resort. Of course in some areas its sold and in others...not.
    The aquarists who say don't use it for the aquarium water and plants...are fine with it if $4 fish are sick. Well, BGA is not good for fish either and in badly affected tanks,it can kill fish like Corydoras who ingest as they root through gravels.
    Just my experience.
