    Just bought a 2004, 260hrs. Never had time yet to dig into it. Appreciate your vids, I’m sure they are going to help with my project lol.

    Brett: my 99 XL760 Waverunner came back to life today after following your videos and advice. Started right up, freaking amazing. Took your advice and ordered the oil pump block off plate. Will get that in Tuesday. & I'm done and back on the water. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING. CAPTAIN RED

    Your First Mate made this informative video worth watching. She seems to be a fun person that adds value to your life. Hope you had a speedy recovery from your accident. I hate deer when riding my Harley.

    Brett: Once again you saved the day. All done except, had these two tubes coming out of the back of each side of the carburetors, Could not figure out where they came from. Searched manuals, parts diagrams, exhaustively. Most of them show the port, but nobody shows where the tubes go to. At 7:05 in where you are retrieving the red straw, can see the line clearly. Once again many thanks. Should be able to get this in the water TODAY!!!!!!

    When running antifreeze through the engine, I use a five gallon bucket with a bilge pump and 3/4" hose with hose end fitting, to attach whatever flush kit is needed. I also pinch off the water intake hose from the jet pump, if not all the antifreeze just runs out the pump, not through the engine. Thanx!!!

    • @richie2dicks468
      @richie2dicks468 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m pretty sure it’s not running out the jet pump but the exhaust beside the pump. If it’s coming out the exhaust it’s gone through the engine

    You should use the proper marine antifreeze for engines. RV antifreeze offers no corrosion protection as it does not have corrosion inhibitors in it. It is meant for potable water systems and waste systems in an RV, not an engine. Buy -50, -60, -100, -200, whatever you prefer and do not dilute with water.

    When I do this the fluid seems to just trickle back out from where it usually go in at the pump. I tried pinching off that hose but not with much success. Not sure any went through the engine last year. But it was fine.

      Derek Williamson huh. Next year maybe I'll try plugging that as I winterize it.

    if done the right way winterizing is a service its not just fogging it and putting antifreeze in it.the charge of $250 is what it should cost if done the right way fogging antifreeze change of plugs greasing the coupler checking and adjusting throttle cable oil injection cable lubing of cables and plowing out with air taking jet pump nozzle off to inspect for water incase fishing line didnt rip seal putting stabil in fuel and running it and also blipping throttle to get stabil into excelorator pump plus when you just let it idle stabil is only pulling thru pilot curcuit not the high speed curcuit like i said it is a service and if dealers dont do it that way the are robbing there cust

    Good video. Never winterized a ski before and this is my first. I have a 2001 Yamaha XL700. Where can I get that hose attachment that goes to the ski?

    • @bucksgarage1
      @bucksgarage1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The part that plugs into the jet ski came with mine, I'm sure you could get it off Ebay. The rest is just a hose, funnel and garden hose fitting from home depot. Adding antifreeze is probably overkill but I would rather do it for piece of mind.

    Not sure why so many people run the motor with fogging oil Untill it stops. why would
    You want ashes and burnt oil in the cylinders while you're trying to store it . Spray fogging oil in the same spot or by removing spark plugs and unplug spark plug wires and turn the engine over for 5-6 seconds and thats it. Preserves the cylinder walls and rings alot better just an fyi for anyone out there

    • @rrhistorian8828
      @rrhistorian8828 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You run it while fogging it to get the lower end coated with oil, not just the cylinder walls. Then, after you turn it off, you pull the plugs and spray the fogging oil directly into the cylinders to coat the rings and cylinder wall. Now you know why it’s run and fogged as well as with plugs removed.

      @@rrhistorian8828 the oil sprayed still gets to the lower ends though even when just turning it over without it running

    Good Morning! I'm a new Jetski owner. I just bought a 1994 Yamaha Wave Runner 3 with the 700 sized engine a few weeks ago, and I am starting to research what will need to be done to winterize it. This video is very helpful, thank you. I was wondering, because my Yamaha is a 2-stroke, can you confirm that I do not need to do anything with the oil? From what I can see, the oil tank is separate from the gas tank, requiring no mixture, which makes me believe that I am good on the oil in regards to winterization? Secondly, you would run the antifreeze solution through AFTER draining out all of the fuel from the tank, right? Thanks so much for your help!

    • @bucksgarage1
      @bucksgarage1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing is needed to be done with the oil. The gas tank should be kept full for storage, if not it has the chance of condensation forming inside the tank you will end up with water in the gas.

    i have a 4 stroke 4 cylinder 2004 fx waverunner i bought it this year with only 65 hours very good machine i used to own a seadoo in the past year but the guy who winterized it charge me 250 dollars i think is too much for the easy job that i seen here in you video i gonna do it my self this year i order the fooging oil on amazon for 17 dollars the gallon of antifreeze cost only 5 dollars on autozone and the gas stabilizer cost like 20 dollars it’s crazy how they charge for winterized a jet ski in the dealer when they spend only 60 dollars or less , do you put fogging oil inside of the spark plugs too or not, another question after you put the antifreeze do you leave the antifreeze on the engine or you push the throttle more after you flush the antifreeze or just leave it like that inside the engine ? i hear that i have to spray each cylinder for 3 seconds each do i have to do it when the engine is off or on

    • @bucksgarage1
      @bucksgarage1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fredy Jetski adict the anti freeze will not hurt your engine if any is left inside. I personally don't remove the spark plugs and spray fogging oil in each cylinder. Since you have a 4 stroke I would skip spraying it through the air box and only spray it directly into the spark plug holes. In a 2 stroke the fogging oil coats all the lower end components of the engine along with the piston and sleeves. With a 4 stroke it already has oil coating the lower end so all that needs fogging spray is the top end. I would run the anti freeze through, shut it off, pull the plugs , coat each cylinder through the spark plug hole, put the plugs back in without the plug wires being connected, turn the engine over with the starter for 2 or 3 seconds to let the piston distribute the oil on the sleeves and then be done with it. Just my personal opinion. 250 is way too much for a winterization. Good luck on yours.

      me i spray fogging oil thru the fuel rail to coat the intake valves and to flush out the valve seats incase moister is in there from condensation just my two cents

    • @grierm5736
      @grierm5736 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is old but seadoo is weird, Seadoo uses a closed cooling system meaning that anti-freeze is already in the engine, the anti-freeze it sounds like you poured in goes to the exhaust and the jet pump, you really didn’t need to do the anti-freeze, all a seadoo really needs is a good flush through the exhaust with the hose and a couple shots of fogging oil.

    I couldn’t get the antifreeze to gravity feed through the funnel, is there pressure needed with the flush hose attachment??? When garden hose was on it ran water through, so maybe the attachment needs pressure??

    • @bucksgarage1
      @bucksgarage1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine didn't need pressure. I beleive it does have a check valve where the hose connection goes into it. This year I had a really hard time getting the hose connection seated down and turned in the lock position. Make sure its fully installed and locked?
