Home Free is so ,well, ridiculously talanted that they can be the focal point or back up in a musical piece and you still find yourself saying "pbptttuh WOW !!"!
This was filmed in Arizona while on tour. They did an absolutely amazing job with their version. They are so good about sharing their spor light with others. Really enjoyed watching your reactions to this song.
This is super. Sorry to say but I like this better than the original and other covers Great sung, incredible bass, unbelievable beatboxing/vocal sounds, amazing harmonies. Each has just the right role in the song. And then the video!!! Wow. They all look perfect🥰😍. Images from earlier Western movies that I watched a lot came back! Yes, another successful cover!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Home Free and Brooke Eden are awesome together!💖
You missed the key phrase "a man of low degree." The guy was a player. She was an innocent and he took advantage of her, promising to marry her, then left her without a backward glance. It broke her heart and she never got over it. Lived the rest of her life in denial, waiting for him to return. My interpretation. From what I have read, it is close to the story of the songwriter,, whose mother was a beautiful woman and raised him as a single mom.
Brooke was a contestant on American Idol and was eliminated during the Hollywood round apparently ( not sure what that means anymore today ) she is married to her wife a couple of years ago and still does music, but prior to this collab with Home Free has not really had anything big happen for her. She has been on tour with Home Free, but they also substitute in another female singer at dates where Brook is unable to make it for various reasons. The origins of this song go back to 1971 when the song writers Alex Harvey and singer musician Larry Collins created the song with Collins as the first person to perform it, then in May of 1972 it was released on then 13 year old Tanya Tuckers album and still ranks as the most successful versions. It was covered by 11 artists in 1972, 8 artists in 1973, 7 artists in 1974, 3 artists in 1975, 4 artists in 1976, nobody covered it in 1977, 2 artists covered it in 1978 and 1 artist covered it in 1979 and it has been covered by various artists 22 times between 1980 and 2017 and finally this version in 2023
I remember when I was a kid, when this song came out, and a woman of 41 was considered "old" and tragic... Now that I'm well past that age, this song hits different. Love how the B.V.s are sometimes just vowels, and sometimes echoes of the lyrics... especially clear with Tim.
Great reaction! I never cared much for this song, but HF has made me love it! FYI- Chance has a new song on his TH-cam channel- “ Far From Any Road”. It has a western feel. Chance plays acoustic and electric guitars, and there is a female guest singer whose voice blends well with Chance’s. And Adam Rupp provides percussion AND plays bass guitar. It’s stunning.
I'm old enough to remember Tanya Tucker & the late Helen Reddy's versions of it. Home Free & Brooke Eden have given it new life and brought it to a whole new audience. I love the beatboxing, harmonies, singing, setting - everything about this rendition. Home Free's promotion of other singers is so generous and so them. Thank you for playing it, your comments & reactions.
Her shoulders, her sauntering is sooo sexy. She's the story teller along with Austin. The other woman not singing is DD. Her eyes at the end is mesmerizing and a brilliant touch.
It's filmed in the Goldfield Ghost Town theme park in Apache Junction, which is just east of Mesa, Arizona, which is just to the east of Phoenix, Arizona.
It could have also been filmed in Old Tucson, Tucson, Arizona, (west of South Tucson) because when they had their concert in February, they were filming too.
I live in Mesa Arizona and it was definitely filmed at Goldfield mine ghost town by the Superstition Mountains. I was at their concert that same night in Mesa. It was cold and windy that day. Tim said, what the hell AZ, we came here to thaw out... Lol
I don't think it's so much that the man died. I think it's more he cozied up to her and promised her the world maybe got a little something from her. Then he took off and ditched her, driving her crazy.
They filmed this at Goldfield Ghost Town in Apache Junction, AZ. I used to live less than 5 minutes from there. And it is a little tourist type of place but it's also frequented by the locals. I'd say the most famous version of this song was definitely done by Tanya Tucker. Great reaction as always! ❤
Super old song, first made famous by Tanya Tucker, improved upon by Helen Reddy, and now mastered by Brooke Eden and Home Free. This was my Mom’s favorite song, and she even named the dog after it/her. She passed last November, but I sure wish she’d gotten to hear this version!
This is a great song! Bette Midler did it first in 1971 but I remember Tanya Tucker & Helen Reddy's versions. The guys did a really nice job backing up Brooke Eden on this song. They never take away from a guest vocalist. And how cool did they all look dressed in the western theme. Reminded me of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western movies I used to watch.
As much as I love Brooke Eden's contribution, and of course Austin's clear beautiful notes.... I think what makes it for me is Tim's bass line. It adds so much, especially in the last couple of choruses.
Apache Junction, AZ in a western town - sort of an amusement park there with zip lining and lots of AZ western stuff. That’s where it is filmed - music sounds so good. See you Sat. W/PappyD.😊
I am also old enough to remember the original on little jukeboxes at the diner tables.... and this is the most amazing tribute IMO. I love you guys ♥ OMG Bohemian rhapsody... I am really extra loving you!!!
I never actually heard the original song! I always heard my Aunt Glenda and Uncle David sing it at family reunions. I sent it to them as soon as it came out, of course.
Love you boys! Love your analysis too. You can hear stuff I don’t necessarily focus on and you bring up such good points. Yes, I agree….an instant classic. Brooke has a great voice. The only thing I know about her is that she was on American Idol like 10 years ago. Loved Tim’s lows and Austin’s highs. Loved them as cowboys. This was filmed in AZ. I heard it was a ghost town but don’t know for sure. 🥰
Brooke and Austin are just telling the story of a woman named Delta Dawn who was done dirty by a low degree man who made promises and didn't keep 'em. Poor Delta never got over it. And Home Free is beautifully giving the spotlight to their guest star and looking great in the meantime.
The song is based on songwriter Alex Harvey memories of his mother, who was miss, understood by those who knew her. He needed to this as therapy after his mother died by, running her car into a tree and died.
Great reaction as always... love Home Free... Brooke has a smoky voice and is sooooo hot (to bad she plays for the other side)... Always get a kick out of your bro chat. Keep up the great work!
Great Post, Guys. But to be honest with ya, I did NOT recognize Adam Rupp in this video. This was the first time I have seen him with his hair down. Usually, it is tied back with a handkerchief. I felt foolish when I say it was him. LMAO! Great Post, everyone.
This came out years ago by Tanya Tucker. It was a big hit for her. I love the little bits they added to make it their own. I think they did Tanya proud.
Not a favorite song, but they killed it. Brook's voice blends so well with the boys. And, as usual, Adam Rupp's percussion is beyond amazing. Speaking of duets, Austin has a new duet coming out on Friday with a different female singer, Makena Hartlin. Can't wait.
It seems like Austin's part was an echo of Brooke's, and "present" at her level. He was also dressed like a spaghetti Western bad guy, as if he is a man of low degree. The rest of the guys are dressed as town folk, the chorus. In the "acapella" section, Adam Rupp is singing his wonderful, super high tenor!
Yep! Another amazing cover with a fantastic female lead! Doobie needs to get back to listening to Home Free. He’s missing out on some great music! ☺️ I get it, though. Sometimes a new artist can come along and take you away. Another great reaction, too!
This was all over the radio in the 70s. Better Midler did it, but it wasn't a big hit for her. Tanya Tucker made the biggest splash with it, she was only 13 or 14 when she released it. Helen Reddy had a decent hit with it on pop radio.
Please, pease react to NEW Home Free song Give Me A Sign and please teact to the song Blue Ain't Your Color where you can see them do temptations and doo wop style!!!!
They shot it outside Mesa, Az. Pretty cool 🎶🔥🙃❤️‼️🫶🏼 Google it, about what the story is, it’s actually a True story about his mother &, …. The whole thing is there why he wrote it. It’s really sad.
This is a cover of Tanya Tucker, s well known country singer!❤
Home Free is so ,well, ridiculously talanted that they can be the focal point or back up in a musical piece and you still find yourself saying "pbptttuh WOW !!"!
And Tim in that hat and duster...OH MY!
I don't think Tim was feeling that hat. It kept trying to blow away. :-)
This was filmed in Arizona while on tour. They did an absolutely amazing job with their version. They are so good about sharing their spor light with others. Really enjoyed watching your reactions to this song.
Love Austin's "Daauwwnnn" and how she echos it right back to him.
Warning ! You won't be able to get this song out of your heads ... what a great collab ... Brooke is terrific and the boys are brilliant , as usual !
This is super.
Sorry to say but I like this better than the original and other covers
Great sung, incredible bass, unbelievable beatboxing/vocal sounds, amazing harmonies. Each has just the right role in the song.
And then the video!!! Wow. They all look perfect🥰😍. Images from earlier Western movies that I watched a lot came back!

OH by the by HF has the first part of a TRILOGY dropping ! Give Me A Sign from their So Long Dixie Album GREAT Video !!!!

Brook sounds enough like Tanya to be her daughter or her clone.
This video was filmed in AZ, Goldfield Ghost Town and Mine to be specific. Those are the Superstition mountains in the background.
Killer video. Brooke Eden is perfect for this song. Love the western setting and costumes and harmonies and Tim's bass. Adam Rupp as usual kills it.💗
Love this song! Awesome reaction! Thanks ❤️ Much Love! #Hangovergang #Home Free #NotificationGang
This was filmed near Apache Junction, AZ.
Her shoulders, her sauntering is sooo sexy. She's the story teller along with Austin. The other woman not singing is DD. Her eyes at the end is mesmerizing and a brilliant touch.
The Kelly Bell Band (an awesome Phat Blues Band from Baltimore, MD) sings (and plays) their mic and sound checks.
If I’m not mistaken, I think Tanya Tucker recorded this when she was 13!!!!!!!
Love her blend with Home Free 🎶❤️👏
It's filmed in the Goldfield Ghost Town theme park in Apache Junction, which is just east of Mesa, Arizona, which is just to the east of Phoenix, Arizona.

Several people have covered this song but these guys along with Brooke give it new life.
That location is in Apache Junction, AZ. I would recognize those cliffs and desert mountains behind them anywhere.
Thank y'all for your reactions. I mts great how much y'all appreciate their talent.
I've been anxiously waiting for your reaction to this. Great video as always.

Love the setting, and wow did they pull that song off with extraordinary class and excellence!!! Another fun collaboration!! ❣
This so very awesome! Home Free + Brooke Eden = Fire. Love your reactions!

Loved this version! They owned it! Thanks for reacting to it!!❤
Thanks for watching and commenting! It does more than you know!
You guys are cool ! Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
❤️❤️❤️❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Apache Junction, AZ in a western town - sort of an amusement park there with zip lining and lots of AZ western stuff. That’s where it is filmed - music sounds so good. See you Sat. W/PappyD.😊
It was filmed in Apache Junction AZ at tourist “trap” in February. It was cold and windy.
Goldfield Ghost Town
It's really close to the original song! Good job!❤❤
Goldfield Ghost Town Apache Junction Arizona. Shocked when I realized I had been there last April!
Those eyes! The ending was epic. Another cover upgrade
Those are Brooke Eden’s eyes
With the world famous " le doubie" ❤😊
In the flesh!
I am thinking Goldfield, Arizona. They have a ghost town there. That's definitely the Superstition Mountains in the background.
Thanks guys ❤❤❤
It's a tourist trap/movie location near Tucson.
I am also old enough to remember the original on little jukeboxes at the diner tables.... and this is the most amazing tribute IMO. I love you guys ♥ OMG Bohemian rhapsody... I am really extra loving you!!!
Fire ofcourse!! It's HF!! Brooke sounds good with them!!
According to the BTS video, they were supposed to film this in Denver, but the weather was to rough. So they filmed it in Arizona.
I never actually heard the original song! I always heard my Aunt Glenda and Uncle David sing it at family reunions. I sent it to them as soon as it came out, of course.

They filmed it at goldfield outside mesa az with the superstition mts in the background. I live in Mesa az and recognized the mts.

Fantastic 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Filmed at a ghost town park in Arizona from what I’ve read.
Woohoo, great song and great reaction from you all. If you like good vocals check out Dan Vasc performing Amazing Grace… mindblowing!
Yep. Would love to hear more from Brooke Eden and the boys!
And just an FYI-I miss seeing your green sticker "Eat Bertha's Mussels"😜
It’s still under the mat, promise! 😉
@@307Reacts but I can't see it!!😉
Its a cover. Originally done by Bette Midler (1971) more recognized by Tanya Tucker (1972) and Helen Reddy (1973 released)
Thanks Guys!!! Another great Home ree reaction. CHEERS!! 👍👍
Love This ❤
👍😎✌🏻
The song is based on songwriter Alex Harvey memories of his mother, who was miss, understood by those who knew her. He needed to this as therapy after his mother died by, running her car into a tree and died.
This is a great cover of a Tanya.Tucker from the 70's
Tanya Tucker only covered this song as well
Home Free is great and you guys are great reactors! Thanks!
Hey Kay, thank you for spending your time with us, we really appreciate it! 🙏🏼😁
Fun reaction guys
Thanks, Genie!
Great reaction as always... love Home Free... Brooke has a smoky voice and is sooooo hot (to bad she plays for the other side)... Always get a kick out of your bro chat. Keep up the great work!
Hey thanks, Chris! We appreciate you spending time with us and laughing along with our random conversations 😂🙏🏼
Chris was right. Austin always takes clothing a step higher. like in Holy Night
Just FYI, Tanya Tucker was only 14 when she had a number one hit with this song.
13
Great Post, Guys. But to be honest with ya, I did NOT recognize Adam Rupp in this video. This was the first time I have seen him with his hair down. Usually, it is tied back with a handkerchief. I felt foolish when I say it was him. LMAO! Great Post, everyone.
I love your reactions. So entertaining.
You didn't rewind after your last pause and missed a cool effect they did. Just mind blowing what they do.
This came out years ago by Tanya Tucker. It was a big hit for her. I love the little bits they added to make it their own. I think they did Tanya proud.

I think this was a Tanya Tucker song.
I think you guys should checkout the original and compare them together.
I think the original was horrid myself and did not come to life until the covers came along
Guy wrote it about, his mom committed suicide.
Yep! Another amazing cover with a fantastic female lead! Doobie needs to get back to listening to Home Free. He’s missing out on some great music! ☺️ I get it, though. Sometimes a new artist can come along and take you away. Another great reaction, too!
It's the ADHD but don't worry. I listened to HF the rest of the week after the reaction we did.
this was early 70s, so if she's 41 then...the guy would probably have died in WWII or maybe Korea
No one noticed the connection between Austin and her?????????
This was all over the radio in the 70s. Better Midler did it, but it wasn't a big hit for her. Tanya Tucker made the biggest splash with it, she was only 13 or 14 when she released it. Helen Reddy had a decent hit with it on pop radio.

Well chris could be right. They are filming it in a ghost town. Never know
the original(s) were a little more groovy, this is much more straight 4/4
Why is Doobie called Doobie?
I think it’s because he has a reputation for acting like a stoner, and having tons of stoner thoughts, even though he doesn’t smoke and never has 😂
Tanya Tucker did it first I think
Bette Midler was first 1971 Tanya Tucker 1972 Helen Reddy 1973
You think she is beautiful...you should see her wife....
😮
Guys? Tanya Tucker? Get sum edumacation!
We dumb, sorry 🤷🏻😂
They shot it outside Mesa, Az. Pretty cool 🎶🔥🙃❤️‼️🫶🏼
Google it, about what the story is, it’s actually a True story about his mother &, …. The whole thing is there why he wrote it. It’s really sad.
