  • In answer to your requests, I made a video where I tray to show how to turn around a corner with different designs. I made some mistakes on the way. It was good, because I could also show you how to deal with it as well. I hope you will find this content useful. As always, I hope my content will provide you some quiet and relaxing time.

    What a beautiful table runner! Great idea to use scraps and then quilt all different designs! Thank you!

      It turns out pretty good. The fabrics match beautifly and the scrappy quilting matches the scrappy project. I love it. ❤❤❤

    Wonderful tutorial! I often lose focus because of things going on in my life, and it was SO helpful to see how you dealt with it. Thank You!!

      I can promise you there will be more. There were more corners where I needed to improvise. I learned that in most of the cases, there is no need to panic. ;) First I thought to stop this project but then I realised, that it may be actually helpful....Thank you for your feedback ❤❤❤

      @@HeidiNesbitt-fq9zu I am human and sometimes I am tired and out of my zone. We all need this place where we can make mistakes and know it is OK. My job is very demanding and so quilting is my safe space. Sending hugs ❤❤❤

    I love when I can make a second project from the leftover fabrics. This one is very evocative of springtime. I don't enjoy turning corners, either, but I particularly like the feather to navigate the turn. I finally decided on a start to my quilt, maybe a twin size. I'm starting with a 16" Crow's Foot variation, either as the center medallion or using more of the same to assemble as the only type block in the project. We'll see how that goes. The first block is cut and ready to sew tomorrow. Wish me luck! Thanks, Gosia ~Cynthia

      Hi Cynthia, we are always busy and always have next project planned.... I like your plan. I have two quilts I need to finish (just quilting), and then I have a large scarp project. Blue/green courthouse blocks on point. The scraps are 1.5 inch wide so cutting alone takes forever. But I have many scraps and they need to be used.
      I love this table runner too. I am more than half done and the scrappy quilting works just fine ❤❤❤. And I wish you the best of luck.

    Thankyou for sharing, just want to say, when life gets troubling, for me I hand quilt . Needle and threads or a book are my answer. Primrose mcvay

      Dear Primrose, you get me we are very similar people. When life get too loud (and this is the case for me right now) I have this need to hide and slow down. This is why hand quilting or embroidery is on my couch. Hand quilting is increadible for soul. Books work for me when I just need to relax in my "normal" state. I love to dive into stories, but if there is too much "drama" it is also too much. Today, I was cutting stripes for scarp quilt. That was also good. Sending you hugs and thanks ❤❤❤

    Since I am getting ready to move, I am going through my hoard and organizing and sorting: neither of which are my strong spots, lol...however, am getting some amazing stuff rap quilt ideas so I am writing them down or making a "quilt kit" as I go

    • @quiltingnerd
      @quiltingnerd  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I read it right, you are getting distracted from packing by playing with fabrics 😁😂. I am the same. Sometimes I go over my stash and sort out fabrics for quilts. Then , few years later I reorganized them again....it is part of the fun. But I do love scrap quilts and I make them faster than the coordinated ones.❤️❤️❤️

    What color thread are you using? It looks good on all your block colors.

    • @quiltingnerd
      @quiltingnerd  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am using several colors in different shades of yellow, gold and browns. With so many colors in my project I need something with high contrast. And green is sometimes difficult to film. I use polyester embroidery thread. They come sometimes in boxes of once color scheme. They are fun to use. ❤❤❤

    Thank goodness for eco lines, I'm wondering if it would be easier to start at corner? Primrose

    • @quiltingnerd
      @quiltingnerd  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there again. In this case, starting at the corner woul work, as we have only one corner per unit. But if we have to go around... you are going to hit another corner sooner or later. Marking some orientation points would help for some designs but not all. This is why I made this video series. There are many designs and sometimes one strategy works better than the other. I know I learned a lot! ❤❤❤

    Absolutely beautiful, so fascinating watching you, can I ask what model machine you use, is it a longarm or a domestic sewing machine

    • @quiltingnerd
      @quiltingnerd  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do not have space for a long arm. I always quilted on a domestic machine. First small ones. Now, I have a Janome M7. It is a large sewing machine. But smaller Janomes, Brother, Juki, are doing wonderful job as well. ❤❤❤

    Is there a pattern to piece the top? I would love to repeat it. :)

    • @quiltingnerd
      @quiltingnerd  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! I did not make a pattern, I just winged it, but it is not complicated. You need a square and stripes of selected length. You put one layer on two sides of the square in the same color. then you add two more stripes with a corner stone in the color of the large square. This is all.
      I am hoping that one day I can put some of my projects as a pattern with the quilting designs.....one day I will find the time. ❤❤❤
