  • Our body sends us hunger signals to tell us when we need to eat, and how much to eat. This is especially important if we have a weight loss goal, because this helps us regulate how much food we eat! Yet many of us completely ignore our hunger cues, and instead we eat by the clock (breakfast, lunch, dinner time) or when we just feel like we want food (which is desire driven by our emotions).
Ignoring our natural hunger cues makes losing weight much more challenging...so in this video, I'm sharing how you can learn to listen to your physical hunger cues, and how to tell the difference between physical and emotional hunger (and why it matters!)

Watch toddlers. This is exactly how they eat. It amazes me that my grandkids leave ice cream!

All my life I have eaten three to four to five times a day because it was breakfast time lunch time dinner time going out with friends later on that evening time and or snack time. There have been very few times that I actually ate when I was hungry. I try to only eat when I'm hungry and sometimes I go a day and a half maybe two days without hunger but I think this is okay I'm overweight and I think I have a lot of energy stored up and fat to burn I think the more I lose weight and the more I really try to learn how to wait till I'm hungry the more often the hunger will come as I lose the weight

Yeah, it's interesting isn't it. Waiting until I was physically hungry to eat never crossed my mind previously! Listening to hunger cues is definitely a skill that improves over time with practice, and it's great you're experimenting with it. I have personally found it evens out over time as well, so sometimes I'm less hungry but other times I'm more hungry, and I just go with the flow!

@@HeyFossa this is a struggle for me, waiting till I'm hungry to eat I'm so used to eating breakfast lunch and dinner and at one time when I was powerlifting eating six meals a day and then when I go out with my friends eating later on that night so sometimes I would eat seven times a day. I'm going to try this again
