I have found over time that one of the best things HF sells are magnets. Same idea but I use magnets to hold the plate in. I think I used a 100 lb magnet, which is strong enough to hold the entire setup to my bench etc.
I got mine with the cordless Hercules saw. Got the 12ah battery to use it anywhere on my property. Mostly use it as a vertical bandsaw so I use the clamp style method to attach that plate. That way I can convert it to chop quickly. Also kept the guide on it to use it as a portable bandsaw without the frame
I found an easier way to hold the plate to the bottom of the saw. Flip the plate the way you have it. I zip tied the small slot of the plate to the bar above where the blade comes down. The tie comes nowhere near the blade. If it does, replace it. The package of 100 ties cost 1.99 at Harbor Freight. It's very easy to remove and does not accidentally fall off. The tie will hold it up from falling on someone's foot. 😅
Excellent idea! Thank you! But I am old, and I know what is going to happen......I will forget it's underneath the bottom of the saw, and will spend 3 days looking for it! 😅🤣
Great idea. Thanks for sharing. Does putting the plate there accumulate quite a bit of metal shavings and make it more difficult to clean them out? I’ve been using mine in the chop configuration (without the plate underneath) so all the metal shavings drop straight down to the workbench table top. And when done, I lift up the saw and easily vacuum up all the shavings. Wasn’t sure if putting the page underneath would make the cleanup more difficult?
Looks like you have to remove the bolt and the bracket to remove the plate. Perhaps use a L bracket with a swivel so that you can swing the arm away without removing the bolt.

That was a good suggestion where to store the plate. I used STRONG MAGNETS to hold the plate in place
@@kevincool5626 thanks, whatever method you choose, hope it helps

I wonder if this band saw table will work with a Chicago band saw from harbor freight?
Great pro tip!

Think I would mount strong magnets
This is an awesome hack! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks , hope you subscribe
I've actually never used mine in the chop configuration because I use it for wood as well as steel when making knives, but great to know.
That’s a great tip. Thanks
Thanks for this video, is this band saw can used for cutting wood? Or just metals?
It’s just for metal since it’s got a metal blade in it…..I’m not sure if Milwaukee makes wood blades for these band saws
@@twinturbo3470can we change the blade to wood blade ?
@@DaraHijazi if you can find one that fits than you can

The threads on the 3 bolts getting rubbed and stripped?
Good job

lol well you’re in luck. You can see the plate from the top side quite easily
Great tip
thanks for the tip
Probably works ok, ithe simplest is to just a magnetic.. no drill holes bending a strap.

Thanks for watching
awesome find! Thank you!

@@flashcraft8287 lol thanks
Just slap a magnet up in there
Ya that would work too. Just wanted to start a video on what could be dont with the metal plate
Now if someone would just make a video on how to make this thing cut square! My blade tries to twist and cuts at an angle.
@@MagaRickn line it with a square and when you cut, cut slow
First search out of the gate my problem is solved! Nice!
I wish they would bring these back at the sale price of $80 bucks.
I can’t even find one. My 3 closest stores are always out of stock
$100 in early March
The lowest they've been was $89 but it's rare. You can google "harbor freight price tracker" to find the site
magnets would have been a better idea
