Icon has good beater sockets, but my biggest issue with them is the shitty deep broach on their sockets. Can't even fish a grease fitting in with them

This might be the dumbest video I've seen lately. You don't need hot water. You don't need to twist the handle, or put the handle in a vice, which is destroyed now by the way to use on anything else. I understand that 99% of people have not been on an actual tool truck, to see how this is actually done but what snapon guy cruises around with boiling water just waiting to change handle? None! Put the ratchet in a vice with a towel to prevent scratching, grab a wrench that fits just over the ratchet shaft and slide the handle off. Easy as pie. Takes about 5 seconds. People way over complicate shit.

Now if someone would just make a video on how to make this thing cut square! My blade tries to twist and cuts at an angle.

We you having issues with heater tuning indoors I was told you can’t install it under the deck but you have it inside shed ?

While the thinner profile of the Snap On undeniably works in places other sockets will not, my70 year old who is a lifelong mechanic who owned his own shop and has a complete snap on socket set has told me he has cracked more snap on sockets than any other brand.

This didn't really show any differences. I'm not sure where you're drawing your conclusions from - you don't seem like any engineer I've ever known. Opinions are one thing and you have every right to yours, but you're assigning conclusions from absolutely zero data/information from a sample size that amounts to nothing.

Snap-on would rather close their doors than ever drop their prices. About a year ago i sold most of mine and went to GearWrench and Proto. Have yet to regret it.

Ok I recently bought a set of new shallow metric 3/8 SO sockets in an open box for $160 🤷‍♂️ and I’ve concluded I love their sockets but their ratchets are in need of some refinement.

Snap on Ratchets go brazy. I’d rather buy the ratchets from them and the sockets from HF. Ofc the occasional Ratchet to beat on and do rough work would be bought from HF

I'm confused. Ohm's Law is Voltage = Current x Resistance. So Resistance should equal Voltage divided by Current, not Current divided by Voltage.

Your microphone is terrible. Sounds like your in a wind tunnel. Your actually comparing 2 different type of sockets. The snap on is a true deep well socket as the icon isnt. It has a higher broach not making it a true deep well socket. I have some otger brands like that Your play on the sockets on the rachet looked the same to me ....looked like your anvil has normal wear on it. Also put the socket on where the ball detent it...socket will be 100% tighter on the rachet with no slopI I sold all my snap on tools. Due to being over priced n idiots on youtube ( not you lol) praising snap on like its jesus christ or something n knocking everything else. I use old craftsman. Husky gearwrench etc no problems. My boxes are us general from harbor frieght. No issues. You dont need $100,000 worth of tools when you can get the same stuff for $25k. I have tools from hf over 20 years old with no issues

Currently fixing the same problem on my 2010 backcountry….

Bought one for a husky 56in box. Then found out the large drawer is only 10.5 in deep. Cut 1.5 inches off the bottom and it fits perfect. It's a great deal. 👍 even having to customize it I recommend it.

I have over $500 in Tekton sockets, they hold up great. Even use em on impacts. Even if I were to ever break one, I'd get a new one in the mail within 1-2 days. Stop buying overpriced tools and going into debt. Tekton has a master 3/8 set for $175.

Try to sell that ICON…. Nobody will want it. There isn’t a resale market PERIOD! Snap on holds its value and lasts.

As a career mechanic I’ve never regretted buying any of their hand tools. I’ve proven them to be superior many times over. My snap on rep is also the only rep that’s reliable. Everything is paid off and he still comes every week and warranties anything no questions asked. The guys I work with are always asking to borrow my tools when their cheap stuff won’t cut it.

I found an easier way to hold the plate to the bottom of the saw. Flip the plate the way you have it. I zip tied the small slot of the plate to the bar above where the blade comes down. The tie comes nowhere near the blade. If it does, replace it. The package of 100 ties cost 1.99 at Harbor Freight. It's very easy to remove and does not accidentally fall off. The tie will hold it up from falling on someone's foot. 😅
