I got rid of my CSL DD for an R5 and haven't been disappointed. It feels more solid, less flex, better quick release (if you don't want to spend a fortune). It's also more practical if you have a spouse for example as it's much smaller and lighter than the CSL DD and can be moved away if necessary. The table clamp is also way better if you don't have a rig.

Hi, ik this is an old comment but I can’t find an r5 on its own but already have some expensive pedals and just want to upgrade my g920 wheel and use the ks rim, do you know where I can find a standalone r5?
Great vid, very informative.. I am honestly considering getting my 1st DD racing set considering my racing wheel decided to die on me recently.. the Moza R5 looks to be a great option and hopefully soon will manage to spare the money and get this set with the additional upgrade for the break pedal
I finally got the chance to play with mine R5 that came last week. I'm very happy with it. Handles great. Just need to learn to configure it to my liking. Great video.
I've recently gotten an R5. Upgraded after many years of gear/belt driven from Fanatec GT3RS and then G923, it is night and day. And if anyone is on those wheels and thinking about upgrading and wondering if its worth it. Do it. I only play on PC so the console drawback was never a consideration for me. I was scared the low nm torque rating of this could put me off and thinking I should have bought an R9, not the case. You will not regret it 1 piece of advice, if you upgrade from G923, buy yourself 2 things. 1. A USB adapter for the Logitech Pedals so you can connect them directly to your PC 2. Get the very famous Logitech Brake mod called TrueBrakeV2, and just keep using the Logitech pedals until you upgrade to a true upscale pedal set. If you bought the R5 Bundle and also the performance kit for the brake, it is NOT enough and is still very very soft, it does not come close to comparing the feel of the TruebrakeV2 upgrade on the Logitech set.

In EU the Fanatec CSL DD is 349€ incl VAT, while this is 399€ excl VAT - whatever that means.
Has anyone actually ordered this and payed VAT/Taxes? How much?
fanatec have huge discount atm soo i buy 8nm bundle little over 500 eur, inside that price there is also taxes and shipping. r5 is only 5nm so its huge win atm if want stronger wheel at same price like r5
Hello OC, nice video as always. I bought the Moza R5 bundle 3 weeks ago as my first sim racing setup. I’m having a lot of fun with it so far.
That’s a killer first setup, good luck into this hobby man.
Yessa thnx I needed this in my life, thnx man good review love you ( no homo )
Glad I could help 👍😂
isnt the fanatec dd the same price and it can pe upgraded ? so better value imo ?
I just checked because I was curious too...
Here in Germany the moza r5 costs 399€ (standalone) whereas the fanatec csl DD 5nm costs 349€ (upgradeable with the boost kit to 8nm, around 150€ iirc)
So in my case I'd go the fanatec route from my 5yo g29
@@artorias3479 yeah same here
Hope you could see this. I'm planning to mount this to a Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0. Would you know if its compatible?
Yup it should be. Feel free to check out my website for discount codes on both products!
@@OCRacing Do you mean that I could mount it directly to the stand without using the table mount that came with it in the bundle? Learned that the front and back distance of the mounting holes are near to each other making it impossible to mount directly for most stands or cockpit.
Can you use other wheels on it?
whats about the clipping at higher ffb´s? (80% and higher)
RaceDepartment FFB Clip
I have a ts xw that 5nm and honestly I have it on 50% ffb because anything more is just far to strong 😂 so I reckon this maybe the dd I get haha
Gloves looking good as always
Coming soon 🙏🙏🙏
Ahh! Something different from the unlucky series 😂
Btw the gloves looks awesome but if you even price that reasonably i couldn't buy that bcoz of the dollar conversion to rupees but the look good
Gotta change up the content sometimes 😂
might have to get the moza r5 base good content as always
Glad I could help. Cheers 🍻
howd you watch the video in 1 minute😂
forget the Moza, I want that Lightning McQueen Kachow slippers
Better than the thrustmaster t300 and t3pa?
Yes
goat reviews as always
Goated comments as always 🫡
Could you fill a video about the new Thrustmaster dd wheel? Thanks and great Video as always
You already know it’s coming soon 😉
Great video as always.
Thank you 🙏
Damn, you uploaded your review the same time as me 😂
Good review!!
How do I enter the competition
I want to upgrade from my non force feedback wheel to a moza r9 or r5, which would you recommend
What is your steering wheel??
@@THESHADOW97139 current one is a pxn v3, $100 on amazon
@@edan7813 pc or console??
R5 is good to start with, but the pedals aren't that great....limit a T300RS GT set would be cheaper for almost the same job, but with better pedals
@@THESHADOW97139 im on pc but for me i wouldnt care if the pedals werent the best, as long as they have a clutch i would be ok with it
@@edan7813 Bro .... the pedals count a lot, in the performances, which you will reproduce on your simulations.
They are as important as your steering wheel.
If you are on pc .... fanatec csl elite v2 pedals are an excellent value for money.
It's up to you to choose the base ... personally, I'm going to start with a t300 + csl v2.
The moza r9 will be next
you see that reaction time, oc goated youtuber
OP reactions
Would you say it's a worthy upgrade from a TS XW?
Oof. Unless you really want access to other wheel rims, probably not. Only because it won’t be ~too~ much more powerful than a TS-XW.
I’m just gonna wait for the t818
Is the giveaway world wide?
Yup
the new v2 versions of the rims will work with the r5
Noted, thank you.
Looks loverly 😘
What u moza discount code
I wanna buy it but as far as I know its only sold as a bundle and I already have pedals so I hope they end up selling it separately 🙏
It is offered separately! 😉
@@OCRacing Good news for me😄
I heard other early reviewers say it was only sold as a bundle so they mustve changed their mind
@@noahh6032 yup, recently changed!
@@OCRacingwhere can I find the seperate one? I can’t find it on their website
