    I pretty much only ride park on single crown forks (on east coast and NE terrain). Not to mention 150mm bikes. This is one of the main reasons I love your videos and riding style. I like that mid-travel all-mountain bike range of travel that allows for more playfulness rather than just eating and devouring every bit of obstacle.

    Coil shock for Rallon made big difference for me, especially to reduce the fatigue at the end of the day packed with lots of shuttles. To my surprise I didn't find any disadvantage for trail riding with coil.

    • @thehayman7352
      @thehayman7352 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@R1pp3dthat was a design oversight by orbea with the mullet link. The problem doesn’t exist with the 29er setup and link. Even then the problem I believe isn’t a few people - more like 1 or 2. I ran the dhx2 coil on mullet for the first year with no problem, learned about the coil snapping, then reverted to 29/29. The coil makes the rallon the best enduro I’ve ever rode and still climbs like a beast

    I tried riding park for the first time this summer at Northstar in Tahoe, CA. I’m hooked, making plans for an enduro bike . Thank you for reviewing these bikes at Whistler. It gives me an idea of what to look for in a big bike.

    Great video Jeff ! Recently I rode Northstar bike park near Lake Tahoe. I brought my Yeti SB130 LR and it was OK in the slower EWS trails such as Sticks and Stones.
    The Live Wire high speed Jump Line was so fast and choppy my bike just wasn't working. I rented a Downhill bike the last day and it was Epic. Night and day
    difference, I will never take a trail bike to a bike park again.

    Heading to Sunrise Resort here in Arizona today for the weekend. Bringing my Megatower v2. I rode there last summer with my v1. There were definitely times I wish I had a dual crown fork bike if only for its ability to save my arms/hands for the longer repeated descents.

    I picked up the same shoe this year for a little more protection (I like the covered ankles). They did feel stiff initially but softened up after a couple days at Trestle. Now they are very comfortable.
    Rockin the Yeti SB 150 by the way. Super fun and capable at the bike park.

    Great video and awesome POV. It is interesting how specialized bikes have become even in the same category. I choose the Rallon and really like it. It pedals so well. Not only for a "big bike" but it really pedals well! When I was shopping bikes, i really liked the Pivot bikes too but didn't want Superboost since I already have good, solid wheel sets with regular boost spacing. I got the Rallon because the they built a jump park close to my house and I felt like I was beating up my trail bikes when riding those trails.

    Funny, I have an orbea occam and also have a tendency to stop and check if the rear tire got loose. Once it did! The rest of the time has been the weird sensation of something that shouldnt be moving, well...moving, and I immediatly think of the rear tire getting loose again. Funny seeing a very similar situation with the rallon, which I wanted to buy in the first place but around here the trails aint that steep so the rallon wouldve been a little overkill...

      Hey JM, thanks for the note! I am NOT a fan of a Ripmo or SB140 at Whistler Bike Park... Even for mellower trails like A line, the trail bike just gets hammered... It's just too high speed, big hit for a trail bike and all the components. IMO, you'll have a better experience renting a true DH bike, then also bring your trail bike to ride in Whistler valley. Keep in mind, you can buy a pretty sick DH bike for $2k-$2500 on the PinkBike BuySell classifieds. There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to get a few years worth of enjoying that bike the handful of times you do go to the park. Spend more of your $$$ on the trail bike you'll ride ~daily. That's just IMO, of course.

      I’m in Whistler right now for my first time. 2 days done, one more to go. So fun seeing what are now familiar spots!!

    I have a meta tr and been riding in some bikeparks with it
    140 mm of rear travel is a bit harsh for most lines but my downhill bike isn't in very ridable state and until I have the money to fix that the trail Bike has to do

    There are parks in germany where I can't go with my DH bike, so it will probably happen again that I have to take the old Slash

    I would like to hear rocky altitude vs rallon. That’s the ultimate match up for me

    • @JeffKendallWeed
      @JeffKendallWeed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man, Rallon is good but Altitude, for me, was amazing. I loved the adjustability, and the overall ride feel was more what I want in a bike. I really loved that Altitude!

    Am i the only one thinking it's not just comparing the rallon vs SB160 frame but also wood class fox suspension vs fox factory? 😄 Since i also rode both (FOX Performance vs Performance Elite / Factory) i can tell that it does make a (huge) difference as well.

      That’s funny, I don’t find them to be all that different. I can tell the Float X is a little light on damping, but the smaller volume feels great, so I call it a wash. X2 vs X could be a video on its own!

    Girlfriend is looking at the 160 as her next park bike so this was great to see. Hoping to see a review on the shoes too as I always inevitably catch my toes between a pedal and a rock every trip out at the park.

    I have the SB150 and the new Rallon.
    The Yeti rides better with an air spring. The Rallon has a more progressive frame and benefits from a coil.
    That would make a difference.
    I love the Rallon. I flip around between the New Devinci Spartan Hp, and a 2020 Troy.
    I ride enough to develop some muscle memory for each bike difference, such as balance. Whenever I go back to the Rallon I am shocked how much I love it.

      @@DavidFoundCo Enduro is 99% the rider, Ritchie is just having a very strong year but things are tight because there's been a different winner every round. Barona had a strong start, but then the reality that Courdurier and Charre are on an entirely different level set in.
