Many cycling channels on youtube are influenced by higher end bike brands, it could be the people run cycle shops or are sponsored by the big bike brands or simply people who need to justify their investment in a high end bike. There is no question than many walmart bikes are not fit for purpose but there are also many videos where it is clear the walmart bike has not been properly setup or they have purposely chosen the wrong walmart bike to review and test. Even here I don't think Sam has actually serviced and checked the bike much before testing. If I buy a walmart bike I know assembly at the factory will be poor so would probably give it a huge service before riding it making sure everything is correctly tightened and there is grease where it needs to be which would be typical of many LBS bikes before the customer takes it home just so if I was reviewing the bike it would be a fair review. If you are buying a bike from walmart you are buying a bike knowing you will have to service it yourself otherwise you aren't going to be saving much money if you take it to a LBS for all servicing and repairs.

I love how stoked you are when you ride! Great fun to watch.
Are you even human Sam? No matter. Watching you have fun fills me with joy. You are amazing. Thank you!
My God, That was one of the best examples of what a vid shoul be, great commentary, always interesting, and absolutely the best filming quality I've had the pleasure of viewing. Thanks my man!👍
Me: Looks like he's riding a shopping trolley down a flight of stairs me thinking that's gotta feel so bad
Sam: that was so smooth
4:18 That laughter is a mix of pure happiness with a touch of madness. Love it.
4:11 "oh wow it's so smooth on this"
Kind of funny how positive about everything you are haha love it. Sick
Watched tons of riding videos (including several from red bull sponsored riders) but this was probably the most positive, fun and infectious enthusiastic riding video I've watched in the last couple of years. Thanks for the awesome review. Im pretty sure some kids with not a ton of cash are going to be pumped after watching this video and buying that bike.
Sam is faster than me down Whistler on a toaster, than i would be on a 10 000 dollar downhill bike. Well... xD
This is so great!
Surly they will release a Columbian Rambler Sam pilgrim edition now??
If walmart marketing dpt was smart they would be on this in a heartbeat.
I'm pretty sure they couldn't just use his name without endorsement but I'm sure they could rebadge it " the whistler " or " A line " .
@@splashpit I bet the bikepark would not allow that. Much more chance with Sam - he is more down to Earth.
Walmart will now stop selling this bike because its decent.
They literally dont sell it anymore
After watching dozen of these walmart mtb videos just for fun, it would seem like the less it tries to look like expensive ones the better, this one has no suspension at all, just what is on is made to be alive for the money...
Had a massive smile on my face all thru this vid , could feel how happy the guy is . Brilliant
Excellent, a modern clunker. Take it to California and do the Fairfax Repack trail?
Heading to WalMart now, before they sell out.
Man you predicted it, COVID got everybody sold out of bikes
This is awesome thanks for not doing what everyone else does and try to break within the first few minutes.
"monny in the gonny" laughed so hard i woke the baby up 😂 wife is not happy 😎🤘
sgt fantapants 😂 Quality! Monny in the gonny still making me laugh
the monny in the gonny part was where I smashed the subscribe button. I love this guy!
"monny in the gonny" ? 🤔
Please explain (channelling Australia's most lauded redheaded political idiot senator) ?
Doesn't mean anything to those of us downunder and I'd rather not be guessing.
Monny is short for monster ( energy drink) and gonny as in gondola he made that bit up on the spot 😂🤣
@@sgtfantapants209 Cheers! Thanks for that.
Very new to your content, but I *love* the concept of buying a bike anybody could afford and doing crazy stuff on it. Lovely stuff.
If someone actually finds that bike can you post on here that you did. This could become a traveling bike. Next person takes it to another park, films it, drops it off for another person to move it on again.
cool idea
Walter Rosinsky bike is gone
It would be amazing if we see it ridden in another video, let's hope so :-)
@@alanabailey8069 do you have the Bike???? Cmon Alana time to give it to another :D
Visiting American stole it .
Who'd a thought Squamish Walmart has the best assembled mtb's.
Yeah.. In Ontario I have to disassemble my kids bikes to regrease the bearings cuz they're dry in a month.
next video:
"Dirt Merchant on carbon road bike - will it survive?"
I guess it would survive if you dont case anything :-D
yoan Barelli did dirt merchant on a road bike :p

@@oikiru1502 You golden man!
If Sam Pilgrim does it? Yes, definetly.
I love how he looks like he's riding a bmx on whistler! Respect!
"One of the most positive people on TH-cam and definitely way beyond." Your tricks and videos are uniquely good Sam and cut perfectly. As children we were always on the move with old scrap bikes because we didn't have the money for new ones. But they were the best "hell machines" for us. We were always on the move beyond the "wear limit". Back then, speedway was our motivation. It's been over 35 years now. But the bike, whether road bike or MTB, remains my constant companion (now of course only with a helmet))).
The day gets 10 times better when you upload an new video (:
Jimmy glad you like them!
Sam gets on any bike : THIS IS THE DREAM, BEST DAY EVER!
Right.. he just goes with it full send
this was more about the rider than about the bike 👏massively impressive!
Sam, you are simply the best and most entertaining Bike youtuber! Total insanity riding this with that Bike!
Love the Spirit
I like how he just full sends it and doesn’t even take the tags off 😂😂
hahah, i love how he left the sticker thing in the wheel! best MTB video i've watched in awhile! I laughed the whole video!
People forget this is how mountain biking began. Also love that he didn't take the kickstand off.
You are correct....
Not to this extreme maybe though...
Walmart Bikes at Whistler 2018: 0
Walmart Bikes at Whistler 2019: 1
loved this video, reminds me off pro golfers playing with crappy cheap clubs and still playing quality golf, the bike was amazing but not as impressive as Sam's skills. his energy and enthusiasm make his vids sooooo watchable. youtube gold !
When the helmet costs more then the bike😂
Having ridden those lines on like a $8,000 bike, EVERY CREDIT TO YOU DUDE!!
For everyone using the excuse my bike doesn’t have enough travel
bro, that bike has infinite travel in it.
The only time that the bike has travel is when the forks bend,
Tires have a few mm of travel.
That's what your knees are for haha
@@DJLongLastin And you've got ya elbows instead of forks!
i just realized walmart’s “mountain bike” doesn’t have any suspension and Sam still shredded it anyway, respect
Quality stuff here, man. Love the positivity too! Infectious! ✨✨
this is some quality content. no wankery, just straight forward. i love watching people put truly low-end gear through the ringer
at this moment the 60 dislikes are from lads who paid thousands for bikes and sam pays 179 bucks and shreds on!
LMAO
WalMart: "Sir, we sold 1,000 Ramblers last week............."
A fully rigid, heavy, cruiser-style bike being used on rough trails. What is this, the 70s? (XD&Jk) Awesome video!
Good choice leaving the bendy, skinny suspension forks and picking the bike with rigid forks. Great video Sam. Your enthusiasm is infectious.
ha.....circa 1990...I bought 3 Hercules 3 speeds for $25. Made two working bikes. Eastern Washington state.
Winters are hell for gears, icy and frozen cables from day warm to 3f. Or more.
But the 3 speed internal hub just chuged along. lol. Loved 'em. 42lbs. I'd ride 20 mph stumping around the bars lol.
You are frigging funny - totally made my day. I think your skill level is set to crazy, think I'll stick to my full floater - it compensates for my mistakes. Rock the postive vibes..
