    I find the LR interesting, it is literally designed for one single trail, Apex in Golden, CO, the home of the Yeti "Lunch Ride" route, but the end result is pretty much the blueprint for aggressive trail bikes given that Apex combines a steep, techy climb with a flowy, rooty upper descent (Enchanted Forest) and a blindingly fast rock garden that still requires enough precision to make quick line changes (Magic Mountain).

      There are still parts of that trail (climbing) I would LOVE to see people clean. Great demo area for any trail bike for sure.

  • @hayden401

    super interesting, I love my LR 130 and this has just confirmed exactly as I thought it would be, making a LR as a standard numberd bike instead of a "special" only yeti fans knew of that fits into the longer travel trail bike world on paper. I'll be keeping my 130 smiling knowing it is right for my riding and not having to sell and repurchase for the "updated" model. noted I'm on the most populer, Large, so maybe other riders will genuinely get more from the 140 with the size differing changes. Awesome content, as always.

      Thanks Prince, we just changed the color profile of my A7siii so that this is the default, in-camera color. I've wasted all kinds of time with Cine4 and various SLOG profiles, only to have Adobe Premiere routinely not apply the adjustment layers/color correction correctly upon export. As for editing, I usually put too much work into these videos, so my posting is only about 1 or so videos a week. Thanks!!!

    Hey Jeff. Another great video. Love watching you ride. I know you like swapping out components on the demo bikes for items you are more comfortable with but for the average person who is trying to decide if a bike is worth spending our hard earned money on and doesn't have the money to upgrade a new bike would you ever consider riding the bikes first and give a review on how they came out of the box before you swap everything out? I know we should demo a bike first before we purchase one but that isn't always possible. I know I speak for all of your viewers when I say we like and rely heavily on reviews from professional riders like your self before we make a purchase. Thanks for all you do. Looking forward to your next video.

      I have a feeling he does the swaps to honor sponsor agreements.

    • @willbros1499
      @willbros1499 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I 100% agree with this approach...with caveats. I think the issue is, he has sponsors who he has to honor, and in the end, any sort of review of the things he's not used to, will APPEAR to be negative as a result, simply because he's going to swap them out for obvious reasons. On each of the last two bikes (Spire and SB140...minus the wheels on this one), he left at least some of the stock build components on, rather than swapping SRAM out for Shimano right out of the gate.
      If you notice, he didn't get off into the weeds about AXS on this bike, and he didn't say anything about the brakes. The Spire and the SB140 have SRAM on the build he was sent, and he rode them both with those components initially, unless I missed some initial "swap outs." He did immediately swap the wheels, but I get that...he's really relying on feeling the differences in the bikes, and wheels can make a big difference by comparison. I TOTALLY get what you're saying, but I'm not sure there's a really good solution. I mean the best he can do is ride it, say he was pleased with the components and they did their job, and then say he just prefers what he's used to. That's about all we can get...

    Jeff, your reviews are amazing, and I've shared them with everyone I know looking at new bikes.
    I am stuck between 2 choices and hoping you can help.
    All-around bike: SB140LR or Pivot Switchblade
    My biggest concern is 1. Climbing efficiency and 2. Fast, Fun, Downhill on Rocky, chattery stuff. 3. Poppiness (if that's how you spell it). I enjoy jumps and playfulness.
    Which would you recommend of these 2 bikes?

    Any plans to ride a sb 160? Would be interesting to see how it compares. I've heard there's not much of a trade off to just step up.

      The SB160 is like 4lbs heavier, that is a huge trade off.

      @hiyeet5135 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nicholasbrierton6851 It's actually less than 2 pounds between the stock T1 builds if you look at the whole package, which is why I asked. Would be a cool comparison in my opinion for someone like Jeff, who can really push the bikes capabilities.

      Stock Yeti saddle, it's a narrow width WTB Silverado Pro saddle but with custom stitching. I like these, easy to sit on in multiple positions.

    Can't decide on a Ripmo vs the 2023 Yeti SB140. Have any insights between the two that you can share?

    • @JeffKendallWeed
      @JeffKendallWeed  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yo! Yeah the Ripmo is more playful and easier to get off the ground. The 140 is better than the old 130 for modern, built trails, but the Ripmo is still a bit more solid. 140 feels a little "quicker" when sprinting, and a little more stuck to the ground on medium speed stuff. I really really liked the 130 for my needs, and the 140 isn't far off that. The Ripmo though, it's my daily go-to at the moment. We actually bought both bikes for my daughter's mother, and she goes between the two bikes all the time.

      @@oliverburke3743 tell you what, I have ridden the Yeti and it is way too racy compared to the easy ride of the Ripmo, I think if you are looking for fun and your technique is not up to enduro race guys Ripmo will be a much better choice and more enjoyable,the Yeti if you are not constantly pushing you are being just a kind of passive passenger of the bike down the trail

    • @JeffKendallWeed
      @JeffKendallWeed  ปีที่แล้ว

      SB140 27.5 is discontinued. 27.5 stopped selling a few years ago. SB130 is a great bike, and works awesome for more natural trail riding. The new iteration is a bit more high speed, trail center focused, though it still does well in the back country too.

    It seems like the 130 wowed more people than this new model. The 130 was knows as a brawler that took no prisoners. This bike it seems like people are saying its muted. Like it lost its character.
