It is cartoony. Look at the apoc tanks in this game then compare them to RA2's. RA2 is just old and has to make do with 2D models. But those models look "mostly" realistic for their time. RA3 units on the other hand...some look really good, others are just laughable to look at. The apoc tank's turret is bigger than the base. If that existed in real life, one volley would flip it over from the poorly compensated recoil of the cannons. Concept wise, yes, both games are ridiculous in a good way. But when it comes to graphics, I prefer the RA2 version over this.
Eh actually many tanks have bigger turrets than their base in real world. That's completely normal and simple physics prevent the tank from flipping over. Do you even realize how much they weigh? the recoil from their cannons is not even nearly enough to flip them over. Judging by the look of the apoc tanks in RA3, their bases also weigh a lot and they seem to be well compensated considering the barrels pull back when they shoot to compensate for the recoil. You would never manage to flip it over. their surface area is also big which further helps to prevent flipping over.
He got cocky after Psionic Decimating Dimon's entire army (at 22:08) and after taking out the MCV (at 22:49) by throwing away all his Striker-VXs to the bullfrogs right after thinking it's over.
The problem with Empire is the over reliance on special units that transform or have special attacks, and that’s supposed to make up for your utter lack of firepower. They all need to be super microed otherwise your entire army falls apart. A balance patch would have been nice to see to buff Empire

I’ve watched this episode 11 times already because the youtube algorithm keeps recommending it. And watching Empire lose almost every cast in Red Alert 3 is just sad. They had a unique concept for transforming vehicles but the cons in the complexity in micro, increased build costs, and very decreased cost effectiveness in most trades makes the match ups look lopsided when watching pros.

(ps.: You didn't mention the waveforce hammer tank after 16:16, which is not quite too common to see, and then missed Yuriko destroying a MIG and a Hammer Tank and then getting sniped by twinblades at 16:30. ;) I know it was a big engagement, so I'm not surprised you didn't get all the details, I just wanted to let you and others know about these minor interesting facts.)
its not that fantastic if two of them not acted like a noob like 4 del for misusage of superweapon or dimon acting very slow but its a good gameplay just not that good

I finally got RA3 to work on my computer again. My old laptop from 2007 was able to play it at low settings, but for some reason my desktop that I got in 2012 which had a nice graphics capable of playing SC2 at medium settings somehow wouldn't run RA3 even though SC2 has more advanced graphics as far as I'm concerned. My laptop which I got in 2016 is able to play RA3 and I am so happy to finally be playing it again after 7 years of not being able to play it. I enjoyed playing this game online back then and it is among my top 3 favorite RTS games of all time! I also think RA3 is the best C&C game ever made. So much going on and so much you can do. And I grew up playing RA1 and RA2 so yes I do have some nostalgia for the old games, but the new ones are just way better, besides maybe C&C4, but I've barely played that and haven't gotten far in the campaign yet. I hope to improve my play on RA3 so I can feel confident at playing it online again after so many years. I've just been playing Uprising a lot lately as I didn't download it when it originally came out. I got all of the C&C games thanks to the C&C Ultimate Collection!

You may have found this out as I'm replying 1 year later, but all you do is copy the RA3 maps and paste the files into the Uprising map section. This applies to default and custom maps.
Agree, having superweapon without army means to be doomed. But USSR side is not weakest side. Every side is strong with true players. The trouble is in you.
Fantastic back-and-forth in this match. Both clutch plays and critical fumbles by both players. Personally I think 4del ought to have sold the tech building after unlocking Yuriko and the Psionic Decimator. It takes up 75 power and costs so much, getting some $ back for building units would have helped.
empire never capitalized on yellows defensive posture. let yellow maintain a ref lead all game, rarely pushing for any new expansions, didn't even go for a 10-15m naval push with a shogun. complete punt. yellow, meanwhile, didn't know what to do on the cliff-top, never really went on the offensive up there, just sorta poked around at purple's peripheries.
Red Alert 2> Generals> Red Alert 3> Tiberium Sun> Red Alert 1> Tiberium Wars = Renegade. These are all the ones I've played so I cant comment on any others. I recently started playing this again but I'm so used to Starcraft 2, that the control scheme is hard to get used to even after customizing it a bit. I have been playing Stacraft 2 since 2010 on & off reaching platinum rank, so at this point its almost muscle memory hitting A+ right click to attack move. RA3 is A+ left click.
Love this game and miss it so much but I must say the fact that mecha tengus can be made in far greater numbers easier than allies and so Soviets can make jets AND they can attack ground makes Empire forever the least balanced faction.
16:30 if tesla troopers, war bear attacks with hammer tank, Soviets win.. a match tooks long time. i think if Dimon only buys Twin blade vs MiG fighter, he will get victory very easy

I am lost. Why is it possible to lose a game when you have 4-5 ore refineries for the most of the time while your opponent only has 2-3? What is going on?
This game replay is just awesome, two of them made mistakes (as every human does) and I actually recall Dimon making more mistakes than 4del (easy to say from a back seat position) but the latter lost his economy while turling with his expensive units, which ultimately made him lose this close gg. And please explain to me how RA2 is better, I mean with such special ability and transforming units this gotta be the undesputed queen in the series.

No offense, but it's just bad casting when you are talking about Yuriko for a while, she shows up and does some damage and you ignore it, and don't notice her until after she dies and is remade.
Red Alert 3 was not a bad game _per se_, but it was bad for a C&C game. Buildings on water (aside from shipyards), amphibious combat units, automatised ore mines (why do you even need a vehicle for this?), Threat Meter and Top Secret Protocols etc: those were all innovative game mechanics, but they are not true to the Command & Conquer franchise. Such a game did not meet the expectations of us older C&C players, and it would have probably got better reception if it had not been trademarked _Command & Conquer Red Alert_.

Switch the original C&C controls in the settings, should be a box you can tick/untick

I remember playing red alert 2 and it was amazing .. with Yuri army etc .. then Generals came along and it's good as well ...kinda stopped playing then ... I'm just shocked to see this ..
maybe they went warcraft style I don't know .. looks horrible either way
Actually Generals is the Warcraft 3 reskin, they went back to roots with 3 and RA3.
I know I'm late, but look up Age of Mythology, Generals have like almost the same graphics, seriously, also the ground look at the ground, the same.
