I met David Kaye at OTFCC 2003. I think you can all guess what his answer was. LOL
I always wished Megatron had some kind of add-on to his name to better distinguish him from G1 Megatron, like "Megatron the Second," or "Megatron Rex," or something. Similar to Optimus Primal.
You know, a bit of an extra info, while his werewolf-like mode was called Noble, the dragon mode of Megatron in Beast Machines is called Savage. Definitely a play on the mythic "noble savage" philosophy by authors such as John Dryden and Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
Some Megatrons might be stronger, some might be faster, none will be more cunning. My first thought when you say Megatron will always be Transmetal Megatron.
Oh he was a damn smart bot. My second choice for Megatrons but he just didn't come across at least to me as a master at turning people against each other and playing all sides. Damn good leader though I can see why the cons followed him. Can't say that about other ones without using the idea he strikes fear in them.
What I would like more than anything is a proper Beast Wars game based on the first season, but like War for Cybertron, not the original PS1/PC game. Oh and the original voice actors too. Yeeeeessss

I just got my hands on a near-mint Beast Wars Megatron a few weeks ago at an absolute steal, and it's amazing. As a kid of the '90s who grew up loving Beast Wars, it was legitimately an emotional experience holding the thing in my hands for the first time. I don't think I've ever gotten quite the same thrill out of a toy in all my life, and I don't think I ever will again. It's truly a thing of beauty, as is the character himself. Yes...

This villain shocked me as a kid, making me realize that the bad guy can win sometimes. Well, that seemed the case at least on the end of season 2. In a way it's such a shame they undid all of it at the start of season 3.
Beast Wars Megatron has been my favorite villain out of all versions of Megatrons. He is cunning,shrewd,clever,devious,a real ham,entertaining in his own way,and someone you don't ever underestimate.
My favorite has to be when Megatron lost to the maximals by an energon powered bean fart. "This is certainly the most humiliating defeat in my entire career. YEEEESSS!

David Kaye also voiced Megatron in two of JobbytheHong's BW Megatron reviews. He voiced him in the MP review. The second one would be for a third-party Transmetal 1 figure where he also left Jobby and his viewers a message. That was a pretty awesome thing for him to do. He also apparently wore one of Jobby's shirts for a livestream/video.
When Dreamwave Productions was still in operation, their "More Than Meets The Eye" series featured a rundown of every G1 character. The prologue showed a mysterious bot accessing Vector Sigma for all the information, and by series end that bot was revealed to be Beast Wars Megatron, presumably preparing himself for the golden disc theft and subsequent Beast Wars. Too bad Dreamwave went under before they could tackle really the Beast Wars.
This is the education I've been missing. Things are cleared up. It was the story I loved. I had only seen the g1 briefly, and early. It wasn't until I heard Ravage transform that something clicked and I started to remember g1. The realisation this far into the show was a MIND BLOW! ... I then proceeded to go in the internet to learn more... At the library, because that's where the internet was at the time for me. Now I'm going to watch the one about the Quintessons and learn their deal. Thank you.

It was more the fact he was much more brutal than G1 Megatron. He murdered his own team if it meant victory. And his plans were beyond anything you could preempt. He was generally terrific and terrifying.
I love Beast Wars Megatron. I started watching reruns of the old gen 1, and I've seen many different series since then, Beast Wars Megatron still resonates for me gamma I don't think I'm ever going to stop loving him.
I always say that I want a line solely based around Beast Wars so we can get consistent toy updates for the characters, but to be honest I just want new BW Megatrons. I just want a whole line made of wave after wave of BW Megatron toys. Yesss

I absolutely adored the Uprising portrayal of Megatron. When you stop to think about it, even though his motives weren't altruistic, the beast upgrade he funded really turned the tide of the uprising.
So love your channel! So I have been a fan from G1 and have found myself collecting the new Power of the Primes toys. Love to see you cover the Prime Wars Trilogy.
IMO the best, most appropriate Megatron was the Beast Wars version. It always found it a stretch for such a feared conqueror as Megatron to suffer so many defeats, failures and miscalculations upon arriving on Earth- until the BW Megs revealed very human-like mannerisms and tendencies. Maybe it had to do with a more organic disguise form, but that imperfect Megatron made every mishap and misfortune more believable (and endearing to me). In fact, it was the human-like personalities- their offbeat characteristics and quirkiness-of the stars of the series that placed them among the most colorful & memorable TF’s ever;Inferno with his,”Yes, my queen!”, Quickstrike’s gunslinger slang, Silverbolt’s Arthurian chivalry, Dinobot’s internal conflict, etc.
TO explain Beast Machines I like to think it derives from Megatron's ego. We'v seen he's full of himself and unlike G1 Megatron rarely puts any kind of faith or loyalty to his troops, always seeing them as simply expendable pawns for his own goals, I like to think whenever he talked about the Predacons it was all just propaganda, seeing himself as the only future for the Predacons, ut as he got more and more power he became more self absorbed, to the point that when he returned to Cybertron earlier then Primal's team, however much time had passed was enough time for Megatron to come to the conclusion that technological purity was the only way forward, a Cybertron devoid of individuality, of course with him being the exception, cause let's face it, who better to guide this cold Cybertron then Megatron.

I have always been an Optimus Prime Fan, but in Beast wars I never really liked Primal that much, but on the other hand MEGATRON... Was awsome!!! You know if the creators of beast wars managed to get the license to the series what would megatron's plans be this time? would he still go for what he almost achieved in beast machines will it be revenge on primal or the maximals for ruining his plans or will there be a new plan that he came up with . I'm kinda curious how the series will go after beast machine and hopefully the cast got a more better looking design than they did on beast machines if the creators would ever get the chance on making a new beast wars/beast machines series.
I know that Beast Wars was basically building up to the reveal that the conflict between the Maximals and Predacons was what inspired the Covenant of Primus, but I personally like to think that the later addition of Megatronus/The Fallen to the franchise means that he could’ve probably named himself after either him or G1 Megatron.

The dynamic and cat and mouse between Megatron and tarantulus is one of my favorite in fiction
Funny enough I'm scared to death of spiders and Tarantulus is my all time fav transformer. I could watch him and Megatrons battle of wits forever.

You know, the T-rex is like a the gun of the dinosaurs, and Megatron has nearly the same transformation as his G1 counterpart.

I absolutely adored the Uprising portrayal of Megatron. When you stop to think about it, even though his motives weren't altruistic, the beast upgrade he funded really turned the tide of the uprising.

Loved this series and collected almost all the Beast Wars toys as a kid, wished I had kept them.
I love BW Megatron, a bit more that his ancestor, G1 Megatron, he's just more evil and heck even has more charisma to him!

IMO the best, most appropriate Megatron was the Beast Wars version. It always found it a stretch for such a feared conqueror as Megatron to suffer so many defeats, failures and miscalculations upon arriving on Earth- until the BW Megs revealed very human-like mannerisms and tendencies. Maybe it had to do with a more organic disguise form, but that imperfect Megatron made every mishap and misfortune more believable (and endearing to me). In fact, it was the human-like personalities- their offbeat characteristics and quirkiness-of the stars of the series that placed them among the most colorful & memorable TF’s ever;Inferno with his,”Yes, my queen!”, Quickstrike’s gunslinger slang, Silverbolt’s Arthurian chivalry, Dinobot’s internal conflict, etc.

TO explain Beast Machines I like to think it derives from Megatron's ego. We'v seen he's full of himself and unlike G1 Megatron rarely puts any kind of faith or loyalty to his troops, always seeing them as simply expendable pawns for his own goals, I like to think whenever he talked about the Predacons it was all just propaganda, seeing himself as the only future for the Predacons, ut as he got more and more power he became more self absorbed, to the point that when he returned to Cybertron earlier then Primal's team, however much time had passed was enough time for Megatron to come to the conclusion that technological purity was the only way forward, a Cybertron devoid of individuality, of course with him being the exception, cause let's face it, who better to guide this cold Cybertron then Megatron.

I just LOOOVE Beast wars Megatron!!!! One of my favorite villians of all time!!! I have always been an Optimus Prime Fan, but in Beast wars I never really liked Primal that much, but on the other hand MEGATRON... Was awsome!!! When I was a teenager in the 90´s I wanted him and the Predacons to win, instead of the Maximals.

i was in the 2nd grade when this show come out. it still holds up.
You know if the creators of beast wars managed to get the license to the series what would megatron's plans be this time? would he still go for what he almost achieved in beast machines will it be revenge on primal or the maximals for ruining his plans or will there be a new plan that he came up with . I'm kinda curious how the series will go after beast machine and hopefully the cast got a more better looking design than they did on beast machines if the creators would ever get the chance on making a new beast wars/beast machines series.

I know that Beast Wars was basically building up to the reveal that the conflict between the Maximals and Predacons was what inspired the Covenant of Primus, but I personally like to think that the later addition of Megatronus/The Fallen to the franchise means that he could’ve probably named himself after either him or G1 Megatron.
