    Have been following Dr Fuhrman's ideas for a couple of years now. Happy and healthy 70 year old - no meds. I've discovered when talking to people about diet and health that people would rather be sick than eat healthily. I suppose it's the power of advertising and the notion that the traditional SAD diet is enough. Folks, it ain't. Listen to what DR Fuhrman says.

No matter how I might deviate from his gospel I always return realizing that his message is truth and power.

      When I started on the program, I rearranged my fridge and my shopping list and that took care of it. From then on, it was an adventure in taste. So start with recipes you'd like to try and gradually expand your repertoire. I'm still learning and experimenting. The downside is that you have to plan, prepare, shop for, and clean and chop all those vegetables. But knowing you are getting healthier every day is a motivation.

I did a lot of you tube watching everyone in the plant based world and even outside. With all of their help I have been whole foods plant based for over a year. It's a process. It can take time. LOL. But I have come back to Dr. Fuhrman's principles as my guide for good health.

    IMPORTANT Q!: Is it true you need to avoid pairing CALCIUM + IRON and CAFFEINE + CALCIUM/IRON (just in natural food sources)? It's easy to take my tea an hour before and after meals, but it's much harder to avoid pairing calcium with iron since I eat tons of foods that are high in both, sometimes within the same food item.

    • @patticurry565
      @patticurry565 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should lower you iron levels because plant iron is non-heme iron. You will want to be strict in avoiding animal foods. I have read that those who have hemochromatosis are deficient in butyrate which is produced in the gut from short chain fatty acids. These short chain fatty acids are produced from fiber and resistant starch found in plant foods. This gives you something to Google for more info. All the best!

I am being vegan non-junk food for six years and I was drinking green juice every day and ending up with Hashimoto disease. Now I have to avoid Goitrogenic a nightshade foods, and when you’re vegan and you can’t eat those types of food , your nutrition get restricted.
