Great video ! These mans are the true heroes, they submit the Everest without fixed ropes, with simple indementary, without any external help, they deserve all our respect, RIP Hillary & Tenzing
Today,Himlaya 'climbers are motivated by the ego, they have money and they waste it on idiotic expeditions to breake stupid records and by the stupid cause of personal satisfaction

I think the conquest should be in honor of two great sportsman, from two great countries, who cares who reached the top FIRST, they were a TEAM!

consiglio a tutti gli amanti di storie come questa, la lettura del libro Lo Sherpa: autobiografia del figlio di Tenzing Norgay, edito in Italia da Piemme. Molto bello sul piano antropologico, affettivo, e dell'avventura. Silvia

I was a high school student in India, when in an ealy prayer meeting, one of our respected teacher announced the conquest of Mount Everest. The news was that Tenzing was the firt to reach the Everest and then Edmund Hillary. Recently , I find that reporters are announcing the other way round. I think the facts should be straightened and the Sherpa should be given the due honor.

hombres así hicieron posible que el alpinismo sea una filosofia, sin raza, credo o religion,la cuerda une,a dos personas, y solo tiene un idioma,la amistad.

I mean to say, deserving but discarded person like Tenzing. I fully agree with you, media knows Tenzing but why are they so reluctant to take his name ( as much as Sir Ed's), the credit of Everest conquest should be equally shared.

And it remains the same today because Sherpas had to do the dirty work carrying big loads so climbers could get the summit.

We need to awake the sleeping peoples of world, who go after the media, and we need to awake media to bring the hidden secret of success contributed by the hidden person behind it.

No Sherpas means no Everest. It was true then it is true now. Nobody will do this life threatening back breaking work and even if they wanted to they couldn’t. Sherpa’s are high altitude machines blessed by the mountains and genetics.

Very few People knows Tenzing Norgay ( Nepal), although Sir Ed(NZ) would have never acheived this name and fame without this Sherpa. Is it only because Tenzing was a potter? Is it only because Tenzing was from poor Country NEPAL?
My point is give equal fame to this poor Sherpa too.
Long Live Tenzing and Sir Ed.
    The binayak ( NEPAL)
