I have been a fan of journey since my early thirties. I am a 78 year old woman now and I think they are better than ever. I an so glad the young people today are getting to hear their sound. Arnel brings something special to the band.

What was more amazing was that Journey performed in New York Times Square on New Year's Eve as the prime performer in that iconic event with millions of people watching!- That was such a rocking amazing performance Hats off!

Digamos que son diferentes...es cierto que Steve posee una voz poderosa pero la sencillez y los tonos camaleónicos de Arnel son muy difíciles de encontrar en un cantante, es el tercer aire de Journey ya que con el segundo intento no les fue tan bien, a mi parecer fué lo mejor que le pudo suceder a la banda en su situación, un abrazo y saludos desde Monterrey, México.
I felt moved when I read Arnel Pineda's life-story. When his mom died they were broke. To ease his father's burden, Pineda quit school and started working. He spent about two years on the streets, sleeping wherever he could: in public parks, or on a narrow bench outside a friend's crowded house. He earned meager money by collecting glass bottles, newspapers, and scrap metal and selling them to recyclers. He would also go to the pier with his friends and take on odd jobs like cleaning scrap metal and docked ships. He didn't have much to eat. When Pineda was 15 years old (1982) he became the lead singer of the Filipino group Ijos, and later Amo. Didn't earn much but more than before, a rising curve started after he began singing in that band. In 1990 he and 5 other band members from Amo formed a new band called New Age. They worked in Hong Kong from 1991 to 2006. Back in Philippines in 2006 he formed a new band, called The Zoo. They became known on youTube performing cover songs by Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins, Stryper and other popular acts from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. In the summer of 2007 Neal Schon of Journey contacted Pineda, asking him to come to USA for an odition as the new lead singer for Journey. On December 5, 2007, Pineda was announced as the new lead singer of Journey and the rest is history, as they said. He really fought hard to get where he is today and of course, indeed he deserve it. it's not easy to fill Steve Perry's shoes, but if someone could do it, it was Pineda. It was very lucky for both Pineda and Journey that he became the new lead singer. It was a deal made in Heaven. amen.

igual deberian haber invertido mas en un mejor ingeniero en sonido en ese tiempo al menos o bien los canales invertir en que saliera mejor sonido, porque se escucha un eco horrible no me parece para nada reverb y ademas de eso la letra S al principio del tema se escuchaba como el culo y despues a medida que avanzo hicieron ajustes pero aun asi no sonaron como suena habitualmente journey. creo que es una falta de respeto para esa banda.

Beautiful crowd and really everybody enjoyed the performance of Arnel and the guys. Dean castronovos' drum sounds too great! Can't find a word to compliment these guys. After all these years a great come back for journey really! They found Arnel in times where they needed him. Cudos!!!

Duh jealous, racist???...Most people can't sing quite like the ORIGINAL...Steve Perry. Whom every singer that followed him "imitates". I'm not saying that Arnel does not have a beautiful voice, because he does, but when one tries to sound like another, it's simply a cover. If you had been around in the Steve Perry era, you'd be able to hear and see the difference. With Perry, his voice carried so easily, and everyone after him, is just a lesser imitation. Absolutely no one can dispute that fact.

Digamos que son diferentes...es cierto que Steve posee una voz poderosa pero la sencillez y los tonos camaleónicos de Arnel son muy difíciles de encontrar en un cantante, es el tercer aire de Journey ya que con el segundo intento no les fue tan bien, a mi parecer fué lo mejor que le pudo suceder a la banda en su situación, un abrazo y saludos desde Monterrey, México.

I felt moved when I read Arnel Pineda's life-story. When his mom died they were broke. To ease his father's burden, Pineda quit school and started working. He spent about two years on the streets, sleeping wherever he could: in public parks, or on a narrow bench outside a friend's crowded house. He earned meager money by collecting glass bottles, newspapers, and scrap metal and selling them to recyclers. He would also go to the pier with his friends and take on odd jobs like cleaning scrap metal and docked ships. He didn't have much to eat. When Pineda was 15 years old (1982) he became the lead singer of the Filipino group Ijos, and later Amo. Didn't earn much but more than before, a rising curve started after he began singing in that band. In 1990 he and 5 other band members from Amo formed a new band called New Age. They worked in Hong Kong from 1991 to 2006. Back in Philippines in 2006 he formed a new band, called The Zoo. They became known on youTube performing cover songs by Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins, Stryper and other popular acts from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. In the summer of 2007 Neal Schon of Journey contacted Pineda, asking him to come to USA for an odition as the new lead singer for Journey. On December 5, 2007, Pineda was announced as the new lead singer of Journey and the rest is history, as they said. He really fought hard to get where he is today and of course, indeed he deserve it. it's not easy to fill Steve Perry's shoes, but if someone could do it, it was Pineda. It was very lucky for both Pineda and Journey that he became the new lead singer. It was a deal made in Heaven. amen.

Ahora ni hablar del flaiterio que invitan y si no son los weones reggaetoneros o bachateros, son esos romanticones cursis que los han invitado como mil veces, este año al menos se rajaron con Yusuf Cat Stevens, al menos algo bueno en esta cagá de festival jajajaja
igual deberian haber invertido mas en un mejor ingeniero en sonido en ese tiempo al menos o bien los canales invertir en que saliera mejor sonido, porque se escucha un eco horrible no me parece para nada reverb y ademas de eso la letra S al principio del tema se escuchaba como el culo y despues a medida que avanzo hicieron ajustes pero aun asi no sonaron como suena habitualmente journey. creo que es una falta de respeto para esa banda.

I'll never get tired viewing these video of Journey and Arnel, this song makes me feel young with goosebumps in me. Yes this concert in chile was amazing and too awesome! Beautiful crowd and really everybody enjoyed the performance of Arnel and the guys. Dean castronovos' drum sounds too great! Can't find a word to compliment these guys. After all these years a great come back for journey really! They found Arnel in times where they needed him. Cudos!!!

I'm not saying that Arnel does not have a beautiful voice, because he does, but when one tries to sound like another, it's simply a cover. If you had been around in the Steve Perry era, you'd be able to hear and see the difference. With Perry, his voice carried so easily, and everyone after him, is just a lesser imitation.
