Mic drop. And that's how to do it. The legendary John Farnham is unbelievable every performance.

You can see the power in his voice by how far away he’s holding the microphone from his mouth and still be the crisp and clear with his lyrics

I LOVE the fact that sooo many young people are exploring the days of the golden era of music - from the 1950s to the 1980s.There is much more for you to experience through You Tube. Australian John Farnham is one of the best popular singers in the world. That is why the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra was happy to play for John in this concert. In fact they expressed that they had never has so much fun before as with these concerts with him. John is a consummate showman and always has the best musicians and backing singers with him. He has a big, powerful vocal range, wonderful interpretive ability, can sing in over twenty genres and is a very More, please.

To be fair, listen to the top 10 nowadays. It's all autotune and no melody. It's good, don't get me wrong, but there's a reason the older songs have a pull.

If you are willing to go down the rabbit hole with our Legend, John Farnham, please make sure you only do his live performances as that's where his studio tracks really come to life. I have been to a lot of his concerts and have never heard him miss a note. He is the BEST!

John is my #1 male singer in the world (#2 is Freddie Mercury). Being Australian, I grew up listening to John's wonderful gift, and he is a fantastic entertainer. He was singing like this right into his 70's. He hadn't sung for a couple of years before he was diagnosed with Oral Cancer. He has received treatment and from all reports, he is doing well. John has a huge catalogue of work for you to find and listen to. I really enjoyed your reaction!

Masterclass. Unsurpassable masterclass. Of a song I never really liked in the original version (the Beatles, 1960s) but John's version is stunning, just stunning. 3.1.24. UK. E❤

Great reaction and appreciation of our phenomenal Aussie legend, John Farnham. Like many Australians I’ve loved John and been privileged to attend many of his concerts for 50+ years. Please watch many more of his vast repertoire of songs. Sending love and best wishes to John. xo🐝🌺💕🎶

Such pure vocals delivered with such power and emotion. The crowd as always right there with him.
John first recorded this back in 1980 but it's a cover of a song written by the Beatles back in the 60's...although their original recording was a Peppy Pop Song and John's arrangement completely changed it and made but his own..so at this concert it sure was an oldie but definately a goodie.
Next stop on the Farnsey train, is his most famous song, You're the Voice. There are lots of great recordings to choose from. But the one from this same concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is probably the most spectacular

It is nice to see someone being themselves 👍👍 (without the b💩)
Being at a John Farnham concert anytime, but especially your first,is truly awe inspiring. 🤯
I can still hear the words in my head, " omg this is LIVE!..the man is absolutely incredible".
Adding the facts that, he is a brilliant entertainer, thinks he's funny 😄😉 , Always gives each show his all, loves his band members and the audience & just loves belting it out! 🎤
    He's a true blue bloody ripper!! ❤️
Best vibes for his health,he deserves it. 🏆

I have been to about 15 of his concerts his voice is always that good. The last one I went to be was about 65 years old and still the same.
In my opinion the best male singer of all time.
I love that so many people on TH-cam are seeing him with reviews like this.
He was voted singer of the millennium by his peers here in Australia.
He is huge here in Australia
Now the world gets to be treated to his amazing Gift.

If you mention The Voice in Oz nobody will misunderstand you are talking about John hes been known as that for decades. It's good that the rest of the world has finally found him ( it only took 5 decades for them to wake up ) God bless and keep you John.

At the 1:50 mark you can see the love Australia has for John as all he has to do is smile and the crowd starts to cheering true Aussie superstar, also this song was the last of a 2 and a half hour concert true staying power shown by john.

  • @jayweb51

The song was written and performed by The Beatles back in the 60's. This is the best updated version of this classic. This is from the "Classic Jack" concert featuring the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra; where John sings songs from his previous albums, but with a classic twist.
John Farnham is the consummate entertainer, who performs for the audience; he carries no graces or airs, a real down to earth person.

If you want to see the Orchestra really having fun watch "It's a Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock & Roll" & see the band duel with Orchestra. Same concert. Everyone with beaming smiles. I find it so heart warming.

Absolutely well done on your decision to take the journey into the musical past and the legends it contains. You're in for a real treat on that trip my man! There is a 60 year catelogue of John's tracks and as someone mentioned already, he's called The Voice for a reason. I'll give you a quick list if you want to explore the range an diversity of this Legend. But honestly, it's just a small part. "You're the Voice" from the same concert you jsut watched, "Black Dog" cover of the classic Led Zeppelin track.. It's only a sound recording from a sound check, there is no video footage., Gethsemane" from Jesus Chrirst Superstar, the last show in Sydney, "Granada" a duet with another legend, Anthony Warlow, "Please Don't Ask Me" a duet with Olivia Newton-John (Australian musical royalty), "Playing to Win" and "Burn for You".

The " oldy" reference is about the fact that he actually recorded the song 9 years earlier than this performance.

Plus he’s been married for 50 years to his lovely wife Jill. That’s a huge achievement in these days and I’m not coming down on divorced people. It just shows to me what kind of man he is. He chose to stay in Australia to be with his family. Besides the incredible voice, great personality and being a generous performer giving all his band acknowledgement This sweetheart loves his wife and kids now adult of course.♥️Im 66 and have watched him since I can remember. Maybe late 60’s? You did a great reaction young man. Keep up the good work. Love from Australia ♥️🇦🇺

JOHN FARNHAM SAID "ITS AN OLDIE BUT A GOODIE".
ITS AN "OLDIE" BECAUSE ITS A BEATLES SONG "HELP" WHICH MOST PEOPLE HAVE HEARD OF.
SECONDLY HE SAID "ITS A GOODIE" BECAUSE HE HAS REARRANGED THE SONG AND MADE IT HIS OWN.

You are right mate..... music back in this day especially in Australia was live performances, in pubs, clubs or massive concerts like this one....... not an auto-tune in sight, not a diva in sight etc...... these days, music seems more about a 'personality'... than it does their talent or ability to perform live..... it's all 'managed to the fucking hilt'.....
