except for HP LP EQ, you could skip everything in this video and it would hardly make a difference, know where to put your energy, make more melodies, try more sounds. thats the 99%
Great tips bro, I know music and play in bands but this Fl thing is totally different and easier you’ve been helping me a lot man I got some many beats done from watching your videos, now I need to star mastering them 😢😅
Dillon, bro I woulda hug you if I could reach you. This video is straight to the point unlike others . Please I got a question real quick… I’m a beginner beat maker and I would like to know if this video covered both beat mixing and mastering. Thank you
Hey bro there are many tutorials about mixing mastering the beat.. but no one speaking about the exact content... I like the way you represent it.. i use mb.comp.. nd.. ozone imager in master to clear down the beat with bands.. and then a maximizer...
I can get my songs to 8 Lufs but the true peak is always +1 DB True Peak or more. Any advice on how to deal with true peak with stock plugins. I don't want the song to lose much of the punch it has
What do you do when you play the beat in the car speakers from your phone and the beat isn't as loud as other TH-cam beats? Do you just pull the master up then?
NOOO. Go back and see what you did on those other beats to get them to hit so well. Pay attention to levels and the order of your plugins. If you need help, i have a mixing guide that teaches the MBM method + I'll show you how to get your beats hitting hard and louder. Here's that link 👇 th-cam.com/video/3R35mhW7_HY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=D0zjZ5JPWtUSP-Dn
There will NEVER be a one setting fits all. Music is dynamic and constantly changes while you're mixing. (Thats why it's best to limit, compress, de-ess before an EQ) The best way to adjust your compressor settings is to set your threshold until the amount of attenuation you want is audible. Then go from there.
Sometime will just shoot it in mono - depends on how it sounds. Typically you want lower frequencies in mono - best practice would be to have lower frequencies in mono and maybe leave higher frequencies where they are using something like Maximus. Or even make the highs and mids a lil stereo.

nah dont put anything on the master besides a soft clipper, on hard clip or halfway hardclip thats how they do it. rest is just 90% simple fast LP HP eq, level everything to the kick, kick is always hitting 0 dBFS. be as minimalistic as possible with reverb delay etc. WORK FAST make MORE MELODIES, DONT MIX. mix should take 3min no more. its highly overrated, amateurs confuse SOUND SELECTION, with Mixing. its all Sound Selection and Composing, AKA Arrangement.
Great video man, panning is really the most underrated way to create space and something everyone always forgets
Thank you bro! You make great content btw👌🏽

If you’re using a bass instead of an 808 do you treat it the same way as your 808 as far as mixing and leveling?
Did u find out?
ofc because its a low frequency
Never misses
i need to know db levels for kick and 808. you talked about it for other instruments.......
For curiosity, can you explain why you use the pink noise method? Why specifically pink noise?
Is this the best way to master our tracks and vocals I just subscribed last night seeing this video
great content - very clear, useful, and easy to understand. Thanks - liked and sub'd :)

where do i listen to the full beat?
Dope
Dope info but do you guys tune ur drums to the same key or scale of the melody been doing that now a days.
U dont have to, but u can
Depends on drum type for me. For a kick probably no but for like an open hat that last a bit longer then yes I will make sure it’s in key.
i dont find link pink noise

If I use the FL compressor does the same settings apply for as on the master channel?
There will NEVER be a one setting fits all. Music is dynamic and constantly changes while you're mixing. (Thats why it's best to limit, compress, de-ess before an EQ) The best way to adjust your compressor settings is to set your threshold until the amount of attenuation you want is audible. Instead of using the faders, couldn't you have achieved the same result by using the volume knob on the channel rack...don't they do the samething?
Yeah you could. I prefer doing it on the mixer where all the effects are though and it's a bit more visual.
fl studio compresser settings?
Depends on your audio levels!
Gain staging before leveling?
Did you ever find out ?
Gain staging is evening out the levels of your mix. @@jerms9694

@@DillonXO sounds good , I usually have my 808s in mono tbf. And leave like you said the higher frequencies in Mono depending tho.
I will either side eq the low on my 808 a bit or put it in mono and through a send then saturate just the highs enough to give it some good harmonics

I’m taking your advice here
sound selection and less use of effects are key when it comes to M&M
Some minor technical errors
😂😂 industry producer dont mix beats. Mixing beat is a no sence. You take out the energy of the track. Rapper want energy not good sounding track
y’all get youlean. it will make a difference when it comes to mixing
Great plugin!
