    Wow stg this is the best video I’ve found on here much love! But I’m confused, Please explain about why I should start leveling the tracks in the channel rack before balancing them in the mixer on the volume faders?

    • @MelloDeeBeats
      @MelloDeeBeats  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly it doesn't matter. I just don't like or Believe in the concept of gain staging before mixing and I like to have an idea of the sound I'm going for, before I touch the mixers. But that's just me.
      You can gain stage or you can skip all the first steps except making sure nothing is clipping, and go straight to the mixer tracks.

    Hello, I have a problem. When I master my song and then exports it, the song master turns out to have low volume.. is there a fix to this? Pls urgent. I am using a Mac by the way..

    • @MelloDeeBeats
      @MelloDeeBeats  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd recommend contacting image line because I can't think of what would cause that. I'd have to actually see it. Only advice I could give:
      1. Make sure the master mixer channel fader is reset to the default volume.
      2. Check the volume of your media player. Make sure the volume is all the way up when you play the mp3. Even drag the mp3 on FL studio or onto another media player to see if it's consistent.
      3. disable every plugin on the master and render it without them, see if it sounds like it does in FL studio. If it does, enable one more plugin on the master and render. Point of this is too see if it's one of the plugins.

    Can you master like this and still get industry standard beats - I been trying but I don't feel like my beats hit that hard even though I now have hs8 monitors.

    • @MelloDeeBeats
      @MelloDeeBeats  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Immo keep it real, if you really concerned about having an "industry standard" sound, do 2 things:
      1. Study industry mixes
      2. Get and use all the generic industry drums
      If you study industry mixes, you'll notice that the beats REALLY don't hit that hard on most cases. Especially when they don't use a kick, the 808 is usually just leveled higher than normal.
      And as far as generic industry drums, study which kicks, snares, 808s and hi hats get used. Make your own folder for a drum kit and copy all those samples into it. For example, the spinz 808 is the most used 808 in rap for the past 10 years, you can get it for free and you'll find it in most of these kits cats be dropping. Same with the zay 808 etc.
      So to answer your question, yes you can master like this and get an industry standard sound but you have to use the right sounds first and adjusting your leveling to sound like a lot of the industry stuff you hear

    Do you think its better for beginners to invest in studio monitors? I've been trying to mix with headphones or is it better to just get studio monitors, thanks heaps for the video

    • @MelloDeeBeats
      @MelloDeeBeats  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think i mentioned it in this vid but I'll say this from current knowledge and personal experience.
      Monitor Headphones are in the $200 range, its a good first step. You may even personally prefer it after you mix with them. But I'll tell you a story that I wanted to tell on video but I just never got around to it.
      Long story short, I had some radio shack type speakers and studio monitors early and thats how I used to mix my beats. I produced a whole album for an artist, they got a few other beats from other sources. I went to their album release party. I thought my beats sounded good on the huge speakers, wasn't the first time I heard my beats like that.... But when tracks produced by Kountdown came on, he had a FAR MORE superior mix than me because I couldn't get a perspective similar to those speakers. After that, I spent $300ish on some KRK Rockit speakers and I'm STILL using those to this day. My mix has not only stepped up tremendously but I'm able to hear things from a better perspective when it comes to low end and how the track hits a room.
      LONG COMMENT I know, but to answer the question after providing all that info, if you're starting, just get what you can and work with it. But in my opinion, when you hit a certain point where you've invested years and you're serious about your craft or career, you HAVE to get monitor speakers if you want the best option of hearing and comparing mixes. It's a long term investment, you pay the money and you can have the monitors for at least a decade, if not more.
