Pros
- Flying toy helicopter clone of the FLIR Black Hornet.
- Weighs only 79 grams and does not require registration in most countries.
- Four channel control with cyclic pitch and roll servos control, throttle, and yaw control.
- Flybarless design with 6G (3 accelerometer and 3 gyro) stabilization system.
- Optical flow sensor provides automatic hovering capability.
- Altitude hold capability.
- One key takeoff and landing.
- 3.7V 580 mah battery provides up to 15 minutes of flight time. (I got 12 minutes)

Cons
- Altitude hold feature can not be turned off.
- Optical flow works best outdoors in bright sunlight.

Is it possible to pair this with a multi-protocol Tx, like the Jumper TPro 4in1 or Radiomaster Boxer 4in1?

Man I don't understand why the manufacturer keeps using these horrible cameras on these cheap drones... a descent quality camera is still dirt cheap. This is just awful.

Obviously must not know much about drones expensive shit goes on expensive drones cheap shit goes on cheap drones plus you can't run good quality camera without having good receiver good sender you know it then makes your old this part is so cheap into oh wow it's $100 extra to add a good camera
It's not the camera, it's the janky WiFi vtx
And it's not even the crappy wifi atena it's because those thing doesn't record locally on an sd card but stream directly to your phone thus make it the most crappy quality you ever see, oh, the camera prob have a bad sensor too so that's why those look so bad
It’s nice. I fly fpv I got drones I’ve flown for 4 yrs my brushless motors are still going strong. but that helicopter motors is going burn out quick
I'm interested in this little drone sir, a couple of questions if I may. Can you fly it with the phone and what performance is it like? An what is flight time per battery? An lastly what's the operating range? Lol, I'm green as grass abt drones.....love your clear advice an appreciate your honest reviews sir. Respect from the uk
The image from the camera is quite clear, however the bright sunlight has washed out the colours so a recording will need colour correction in software.

RE the phone clip - did you check under the plastic insert? Another punter mentioned that the holder for 1 of the other models was hidden there. 😊

No, sorry. I can't legally do that. In the USA, we're not allowed to fly out of visual sight of the drone.
Thanks for your optical flow explanations. I have the C186 helicopter made by RC ERA and it is very similar. Mind you the ERA GB version has no optical flow and yet it performs about the same here. I have an Eachine E120 on order which is essentially the same but with optical flow so I'll be interesting to compare the two. I'm not hoping for much after seeing your video. 🙂but still fun little machines.
I have the C186 and the E120, can't tell much of a difference, so much for the optical flow. 😁
@@brucemeyer2481 Funny you should say that. I just got my E120 with OF and like you find little improvement. It does hover itself without drifting too much but when moving no real difference. I'm just putting a video up now as it happens. Thanks for your comment.

Do helicopters have advantages over quadcopters?
Less power required to fly a helicopter (compared to a quadcopter) because of much more efficient rotor blades. Thus longer flight time for a given battery power. And airplanes have even greater efficiency/flight time.
try rolling sphere quad copter sphere shield drone, yes designed to roll on the ground like a wheel with minimal energy usage, rotor powered sphere wheel
The problem is that the sphere is heavy, and also interferes with airflow over the propellers. It actually reduces efficiency and flight time.

With video, out to about 70 meters. But you're going to have a hard time seeing this little helicopter past 40 meters.
how much can it lift?
Not very much at all. If you're hoping that it can lift a camera, probably not.
That controller is designed to accept a phone holder, the base of which pops over that stubble fake antenna looking protuberance on top of the xmtr.
I've seen that exact xmtr and it's phone holder included with a couple cheap rtf fixed wing kits. Pretty scuzzy for them not to have included this $0.50 part.
I was wrong. It does come with a phone holder. It was hidden and taped under the packaging.

The looks only. It is a toy helicopter meant to teach beginners how to fly. And at its price range, to expect anything more is unrealistic.
@@Quadcopter101 Exactly my point. It is obviously not a clone (as that implies a 1:1 copy) but more a (cheap super-sized, some what) lookalike. It might even be the first model in RC where the real thing is actually smaller than the model. 2:1 scale 😂

Have you ever tried to cover the optical flow camera on anything?
You mean use that pinhole camera to try to take an image or video?
@@Quadcopter101 no, just cover it with tape to see how it flys, I've never seen anyone try it. BTW glad to see you are still around.
@@shakeymikesadventures6793 That might be a good idea. That actually might make the helicopter more stable. It seems to wander a bit, not only in hover, but while flying it in forward flight.

This and the Eachine E110 are the first toy drones that I've seen that have it. That's why I was interested in reviewing it. And I just tried it in my basement by taping a small piece of painters tape over the pinhole. It did reduce the uncontrolled wandering, making it more easier for me to fly it in the basement. But I'm not going to do a video on it as I have a few other drones that I need to review first.

Yeah, I guess I was mistaken. The Australians are evaluating it for use in their military. But the C128 seems to be a clone of the latest version of the FLIR Black Hornet.

the black hornet nano is launnched from the hand and this is just a bigger version of the nano

Ah, I knew there was a country out there that made all drones with a camera (even toys) to require registration. Most of the world isn't that strict though.

80 meters range makes this utter junk unfortunately. Given you have to get 50 meters up to not be able to hear the bloody thing.
It's not a real spy drone. It's a toy helicopter in the shape of a military drone. It's still useful for its intended purpose of helping beginner's in learning to fly RC.
