@@weaselweasel8034 my personal recommendation would be a Blade 120 S2. It has SAFE which has a panic button that returns the heli to flat and level if you lose orientation. This SAFE mode does not avoid walls or trees or anything else. Wind can still blow it around, but if it's plummeting to the ground, you just hit the panic button and give it some throttle and it should zip it to an upright position. TH-cam how SAFE works with RC helicopters, they'll walk ya thru it. Plenty of spare parts for Blade helis in local hobby stores and online.
That chopper/drone does have a bunch of perks to it. 👍🏼 If $600 is the price, It is on the high end for a beginner. It looks to be worth the cost. But most beginners won't want to spend that. Maybe if they sold a beginner model (minus a couple bells & whistles), the price could come down a lil bit. I bet the 'return to home' worked perfectly, where it landed looked really close to the spot you (initially) took off.
beginners eventually come around my buddy who's a little bit older and has even worse vision than I do wants a big 450 with GPS, there is a market at this price point for these types of aircraft. GPS protects your investment and protects others if you don't have good enough stick skills confidence vision etc. The new GS huey venom is gonna be available GPS soon as well, and that thing flies like a "goose guy". my big objection to this one is it doesn't really fly like a helicopter whereas I have the new venom and it does. this comes with extra batteries and a good controller so I think it's a good option plus the venom doesn't have any lights I don't know if this one does
The price was a little jarring, but it does have all the specs you’d expect for that price. The problem is all the sub $100 helicopters from the same company that look the same albeit with significantly less features, but I had a $200-$300 expectation when I saw the $585 tag wow 🤯

Its an MH-60 Blackhawk. Its in the attack configuration. usually special operations are the only ones that have those helicopters in that configuration. I definitely need to get me one so I can fly it. I do want to see if there is an Apache helicopter drone
Or a first gen Mavic Mini (which is still a great drone) for €400 (€100 less than this heli). Or a full FPV quadcopter setup for the same price, and that’s way more fun to fly.
The camera is analog. it works with my fat sharks but I dont have the ability to record. I may throw a digital camera on these and zip tie the VTX on so I can use and record from my DJI goggles.
Showing online market it has a VR transmission and that would be nice to see before buying and would like to see the LED light fit with a drone like camera
Very pretty… the only issue I have outside of the FPV is how fragile these are. The wheels breaks off easily. The package is not made to put the heli in it with all its fixture. Everyone please make sure you read the manual. When you are trying to flip it pay attention to which way your throttle is pointed i.e you throttle direction makes it flip
Just thinking how easily someone could put an IR spotlight on the bottom and use an IR fpv camera and maybe have some deccent night vision at a reasonable height
i think what you're seeing the "wagon-wheel effect", when the frame rate of the video camera captures the rotating blades of the helicopter at a rate that causes them to appear to spin slowly, stand still, or even rotate in the opposite direction. not a flaw of the RC copter
I fly rc Helicopters, if you try and go to any hobby store and buy a regular RC helicopter, you will crash it.This is not a rc helicopter, that's a Drone Disguise as a helicopter 😂😂
I bought a slightly used Air2S fly more combo with filters and everything for $500…this helicopter is too expensive for what you get. It’s not a matter of being ‘poor’ rather being smart and thrifty with your money.
Just got back from the field - All telemetry to transmitter seemed good/correct. Issue persists (fast flashing yellow light) - "self test of aircraft" (According to the manual). Has to be a bad sub-component... Cannot lift off! Not happy! A shame; I had high hopes for this (Got the camera, FPV googles and everything - Spend about $1000.00 and planned on buying the Apache also). And lets be clear - I am a Quality EE for a fortune 500 company! Old past replacements parts/fix orders still not received (Considering this was NEW out of the box!). Why should I have to trouble shoot and pay for a new motor and controller PCB???). Hell, I’m still waiting for a replacement charger that works (Again - out of the box and did not work!). Been waiting for 2 months now. And by the way; I have been building scratch build RC helicopters, drones, boats and planes for years, so I know what I’m taking about!

I started with bashers and crawlers, interested in drones......if I decide to get a "beginner" drone I would most certainly get something like this, being a veteran having served on a carrier I might buy it just to have, money is definitely an issue in my household but if this deserving spoiled brat I deal with from time to time wants it, I'll find a way to please him. It might be that main rotor blades are stiff or too tightly screwed to rotor head. It is best if they are a bit loose so that they can traverse back and forth a bit.
I mean, it’s not bad, but for €500… You could have a lot more fun with a quadcopter for €500, or if you just wanna fly in lazy circles and do some pictures/filming, you can buy a Mavic Mini for much less (€400 and next day shipping). You can’t even re-use this controller if you want to move onto something better.
Bought one and got 2 flights before problems started - All I get now is yellow blinking light and no main motor/rotor control/power - can't lift off. Reset everything according to the instructions (Which are also very bad also) and still nothing. Also out of the box, the charger did not work (That was weeks ago and still waiting for a replacement). Looks great and fly's great, when it is working, which it no longer is. No support & poor quality - A very expensive mistake!!! DON"T BUY IT!!!
As a 15 year rc flyer I find helicopters a bit boring and much prefer plane's without the processor doing the flying The mode's do help beginners but that price is big

It is but the wheel is at the back like the UH-60. Also it still has the cabin door, something the Seahawk deleted.

Very nice HDR, and properly balanced unlike 75% of HDR on youtube. Most people either don't have legit HDR monitors to master on I guess.

AT some rpms it sounds like the main rotor blades are floppy. Did you try full power on it? Did them vibrate?
