I played the first MiG-23M in the Soviet tech tree and enjoyed it until the MLD came out and switched to the MLD but I was very positive with the M you just have to know what your doing most of the time and the R-60Ms were amazing to use when they came out the only thing I didn’t like was how they nerfed the R-23Ts
The changes to the R-23T made it have more efficient tracking especially for farther ranges. I like leading the missile in front of the targets path in a side aspect, and the R-23T has great range for hitting those even at low altitudes. It can travel around 6 km to the target as long as it doesn’t have to turn too much. What Gaijin did as well though, was that they made it able to pull more G’s at its maximum and that allows the R-23T to hit targets more often who maneuver while it’s burning as long as they’re not too close to you when you fire the missile. The only outright nerf was the flare resistance, but that seems to have been changed again to where the missile is more susceptible than it used to be when it came out, but less than it was in the previous update where all IR missiles were nerfed (except for the Aim-9G).
Thanks for this video, i really liked it. I have seen a plenty videos on the mig23mf even from bigger youtubers but yours was definetely best of them. You have told many information i havent heard from anyone else and its gonna be really useful because i am not that good at toptier air rb and I am gonna be having the mf soon.
There's a pseudo-ACM in the IRST sensor mode. It narrows the beam to just a few degrees off the nose of your plane, but it's still not quite like a real ACM mode.
I mean, yes, I agree Aim-9J/P's aren't what they used to be compared to other missiles due to the flare buff. However it's still a solid missile. I prefer it to R-60 because it loses energy a little slower in turns due to the extra weight (76kg vs 44kg resulting in less bleed over time). However I do recognize R-60's superiority in very close-in fights to Aim-9J/P.
The aim9s and the r60s have different objectives. An r60 is purely a dogfight missile while the aim9s come from a long range Lance background. While the j and p give more dogfight capabilities, it still is a long range Lance.
I'm definitely keeping it, I'm just glad Germany is getting decent top tier jets. I'm probably a bad pilot but the F-4F and bis SAU are not the greatest, especially without the meta missiles. I'm probably gonna go with the former lol

Also the recent Soviet aircraft in the German tree have been a little lazy with the copy paste - they shouldn't have the R-13M1s as East Germany never really used those missiles. Then again, the F-4Fs and Italian F-104s get AIM-9Js, the MiG-21SPS-K gets 4 R-3Rs, etc., so I guess it's not the biggest issue at all.
Well in that case F4-F should have Aim-9L sidewinders since the beginning but since Gaijin doesnt want to introduce all-aspect missiles compeletly they choose to give Aim9J models and German Phantoms actually carried those missiles even tho it was just a training.

As a mig-23MLD player me and my mig friends we tend to start our matches off going as high as we can till we engage and after we start our engagements we dive down with with 0% engine power and see what we hit, we tend to extend one missile each then speed out of the fire ball and observe to see when we can book and zoom, we tend to get pretty decent kills in our matches but always get team killed in most of our games with the noobs
I am excited for the mig 23, as I have multiple tech trees to top tier, but none with all aspect missles, PD radar or swing wings. Saves me from having to grind out the whole soviet tree, as I am terrible with the early migs.
This is the exact way I play an su-17 but with way more capability. I don't understand why it's at 11.0. I think it's just because of ground rb and not based off of air rb. It's literally a stripped down slower mig-23

seeker, how can you change your zoom stage? like when you zoom in to score a gun kill, it’s still a pretty wide screen when i do so, it’s basically zoomed above my cockpit and i can’t really pre aim shots that well

I want something to grind Germany top tier with (got to rank 6 with the 288 and don't want to play those, don't worry i have plenty of top tier experience with grinding the entire swedish tech tree) but if i can get the mig 21 sps-k for selling the mf, I'll do that otherwise, not sure Update: I kept it and got some premium time instead and am done with the MiG line and grinding the F-4F

First off the radar is good it’s the missiles Mf has the 24r is so good and they don’t give af about chaff, second there is acm mode it’s quite useful with radar mode and irst

I find Russian missiles now just ignore flares. If you don't use reinforced flares you will not be able to flare the r23 or 24 and because of its all-aspect capability the r60 is insane in dogfighting and it is absolute insanity having to dump all of your flares to try to fight off r60s even with no afterburner
R60s are able to be one flared most of the time unless you keep on your afterdurner and fly parallel to the missile flight path (hiding behind your flares instead of flying away). I did kill an F4E yesterday because of this which still surprised us both. Remember missiles may track the flares but still fly through them so if you are in its way after that it will still hit (same for all missiles). The R60M can be one flared but usually require two similar to the R13M1. If find both the R23/24 are two flared and lose track if the afterburner is off. Pre-flaring will is the more likely to save you if you do notice someone has pointed thier nose at you. R60s seem more usable after the last patch (idk what they changed). For about the last 4 months though I would use any other missile over them but now they seem to have thier tracking fixed.

SPS-K is more fun at 10.0 than the MF is at 11.0, plus the SPS-K gets GE and premium bonuses. the grind with the MF will take a lot longer

No you shouldnt kill friendly ever... I dont care if he pissed you off and you had to trash talk him with language you shouldnt use.. if i would see it i would report the one of you who kills the other. because of behaviour like that, of both of you, this game/community is toxic
