Building the ship and the diorama is amazing in it's own right, but having the patience and tenacity to record all the building steps on camera with good lighting takes it to a whole other level
Your ocean realism is incredible! I've seen so many different methods in creating a realistic ocean diorama. One of the best is from Scale-a-ton, the aluminum foil method. It's really good for creating a swelling Atlantic. But yours depicting a very different wave style: a more calming Mediterranean sea. I really like how you executed the wake effects, not only the white foam but also the small circluar, swirling layers of air bubbles as they fade away gradually. Great attention to those details! They felt very natural, not heavy handed, but convincing. The distinctive wake piercing a calm sea surface really bring out the speed of which the ship is steaming at. BTW, the ship itself is also very detailed, top quality. Very well done. This will inspire me to create an ocean diorama for my wooden sail ships. Subscribed. Looking forward to more build vids.
27:06 I can almost feel the movement of the ship pounding through the waves....what an amazing build. Congratulations sir on this work of art. I hope someone of note sees your work and in some way helps you along the way. Just fantastic.
Amazing hand painting talents , best water ever ! Illustrious is a beautiful subject to model . she is just burying her nose ,which you can see in photos , well done .
Hi, your work really inspirational! I also build ship models, but before watching your video, i spend 99% of the effort on the ship itself, and quickly make a simple sea base, or just skip the sea base most of the time. Now i realize how wrong i was, and how a good sea base can make the model look 100 times more amazing! I'm nearing the end of my work on a IJN heavy cruiser, this time ill put much more effort into the sea following your tips! Thanks for sharing your work! And please post more often on twitter XD
@@studioblueocean I was able to complete it: twitter.com/katobase2907/status/1380262155027542020?s=20 , i couldn't draw the foam, you do make it look easy haha i ended up just using sponges, i like the result, i'm glad i watched your videos
This is the most realistic sea, foam and ship wake I've ever seen in a diorama! Keep up the amazing work! And thanks for sharing! =====================================================================================================================
I can watch this the whole day so detailed!!! Unbelievable how to make these models with so much finesse!!! You belong absolute to one of the best modellers.
Outstanding! The best ocean making technique I have ever seen. The weathering of the models is perfect. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work. Well done from San Francisco....Tony
I just stumbled upon this video by chance (possibly due to naval interest I guess), and just needed to say that I am very impressed. Built a bit of scale models as a teen, but never anything close to this, true artist :)
the clip on minute 16:16 on the planes.. those kind of details on 1/350 plane is already amazing, but on 1/700?? They are marvellous... Great Work, Thank you for sharing this Video
The real representation of how the water is being displaced around the moving ship, especially the front left and right side slight build up following swirling layers towards back of the ship.
I always enjoy your videos. This one has really captured the ship steaming through the sea. Your attention to detail adds realism to the whole diorama.
This is probably the best sea-making technique I've seen on you tube. Is it possible to achieve the same effect by using air hardening modeling clay instead of epoxy putty?
I admire the result. Looks so great - Your channel is one of the best to learn how to make ships and sea dioramas! Thank You and all the best for You! ;)
you're not building just a model you're building art...quite amazing
A lot of ship models don't have crew on, I think this addition really brings it to life, great job, the photos look like real life !
That is insane detailing. The patience to build and paint little biplanes at that scale is beyond me.
This is true art! Better than anything in a museum. I would create an entire museum of dioramas like this.
Building the ship and the diorama is amazing in it's own right, but having the patience and tenacity to record all the building steps on camera with good lighting takes it to a whole other level
My Father served on her and the Indefatigable. He'd have loved what you've done. Impeccable.

Some of the best modelling of sea/waves and wake ive seen. Great stuff.
Dude the level of detail is so incredible. It looks like you went back in time and took a picture of the ship with a modern camera.
I thought the first photo was the real thing. Absolutely the finest expression of sea I have seen. The ship is amazing. Well done.
24:24 Those bubbles are off the scale. Incredible.
My God... oh my... that is AMAZING! What a WONDERFUL work of art!
My deepest respect! You have a gift!
Greetings from Brazil.

The quality of the overall work can vary depending on how the sea is made. I'll be rooting for you!

정말 함선제작의 장인이자 교과서같은 영상이라 봅니다. 덕분에 너무 잘보고 많이 배웁니다!!
Lusty is a fine ship. The best looking fleet carrier of WW2 imo.
the clip on minute 16:16 on the planes.. those kind of details on 1/350 plane is already amazing, but on 1/700?? They are marvellous... Great Work, Thank you for sharing this Video

The real representation of how the water is being displaced around the moving ship, especially the front left and right side slight build up following swirling layers towards back of the ship.
The waves are always so perfect!
It´s impossible to represent more details at that little scale. AMAZING!!
I've been watching many diorama and this is the best! It's a piece of art! It's much more realistic to some museum models actually!
I've seen many nice ship builds but wow... that sea would be a masterpiece by itself. The ship is beautiful too of course, very nice work.
Most realistic water I've seen. Spot on! Well done! :)
Masterful craftsmanship, absolute pleasure to watch

The model build was excellent, but the sea diorama, is just amazing!
Air hardening clay is good ingredient if it doesn't cracked. I'm not using it because of the crack.
