I must say, the IJN came with some very interesting ship designs in WW2 - don't think I've ever seen a vessel that was part aircraft carrier and part battleship before. As usual, your attention to detail on a battle damaged ship is excellent.
The Battleship ISE and her sister ship were originally built as standard battleships. They were converted to carry the large hanger aft, for sea planes to give the Japanese navy more air power, this was also done to several heavy cruisers. The Japanese only had 10 carriers at the beginning of the war, five had been sunk by the end of the Battle of Midway, one at Coral Sea and four at Midway, with two more being damaged. The Japanese navy scrambled to build aircraft carriers as a result of this and that the war had turned into a prolonged conflict that it had not prepared for and these modifications were a stop gap measure to bolster the air power available to the Japanese navy. The US navy took cruiser hulls which were under construction or planned and converted them into fully functioning light carriers, it also took oil tankers and cargo ships and converted and called them, baby flat tops, escort carriers, or "Jeep Carriers". In fact the carriers Lexington and Saratoga, and Akagi were all laid down as battle cruisers and after the Washington Navel Treaty, while still under construction they were then converted into aircraft carries.
My second favourite class of battleship, from the Imperial Japanese Navy, of course Yamato will always remain at the top, going to enjoy this build! Take care, and all the best.

No torpedo strikes on the hull? Maybe there wasn't room for the Avengers to make their runs? Good work on this very detailed model. I've often thought that more ships ought to be done like this to reflect the factual history of naval and air engagements during the war. It's quite interesting to be able to look at what ordnance did against armor, or how well armor stood up against ordnance. That white water adds a very realistic touch. Nice job!
The battles ship was back here and anchored due to fuel shortage and assigned to defense of Kure Naval Yard as one of the Floating Gun Batteries. In July 1945, such Japan Naval inactive battle ships in Kure got all damaged by U.S.Navy air attack and she got bottomed where she was. And she at that time had one shell in one of her main guns during air battle but nobody could remove it because the gun was on almost highest angle- anti air, and she lost all hydraulic power to move the gun to its loading/ unloading position- horizontal. Therefore the wrecked and bottomed battleship had no choice than firing the shell instead of unloading and thus the gun fire was very Last Battleship Main Gun Fire of the Imperial Japans Navy.
It's only been done twice. Both ise class battleships were converted with both fuso class battleships intended to go through the same conversion. All 4 iowa class battleships were at one point considered for the exact some plan with the aft facing 16in gun being removed under the proposal to make space for a flight deck.
They also built a few aircraft carrier submarines which actually launched to do their mission but the war ended before they could reach their objective

How would she look with a Well-dock in the stern? I kinda can understand why nobody ever tried to use a Trimaran hull as a form of torpedo protection, even though the wing structure would require additional structural beams on which to rest on and thus offer greater mine protection, in terms of breaking the main beam. But I keep thinking that with those waterplanes, a well-dock would have been perfect for her, no need to stop in order to pick her planes up. So, will you ever try to kitbash a version with a slightly modernized design?
the larger the size of the hull the more cost you create not only in materiel and construction. you need dry dock and machinery of the same size to service your ship. or you need tu reduce your volume efficiency by dividing you ship reducing your fuel, ammunition, machinery, auxiliary and buoyancy space. the last reason is the old way work and you way was never tested do you want to try your luck knowing if it fail your country will lost its place in the naval hierarchy.
Interesting concept, but I think the ship would not be able to maneuver well, especially in rough seas. Another problem might be where do they put the armour belt, on the outer hulls or the inner one? And now that I think of it, flooding in one side hull would probably capsize the ship. Sounds like a good idea for a fast attack craft, but not for anything big.

伊勢の飛行甲板は当初搭載予定の彗星艦爆が車輪での移動ができるようにコンクリートが盛られており、レールはちょうど踏切で見るような凹状になっていたと聞いております。爆撃で破壊されたその部分に見えるのはガラガラ崩れたコンクリートで、解釈は違いますがこのジオラマではその雰囲気を再現していますね。
