Would have like to have seen it after is was dry. Also, I don't have a torch. Would a heat blower gun work as well if blower is set to low? Thanks!
I use a heat gun for most of thin coat epoxy projects. A torch can get pretty hot and if you are not carful, you can burn the epoxy.
Dear knotty Artisan, Your videos are Brilliant and Real. I would like to ask you please, How can i epoxy over polystyrene without the heat melting the polystyrene. This is never mentioned by StoneCoat or RK3. They use foam board which seems to handle their pours. I'm being tight and like Scrooge. But polystyrene sheets are much much cheaper than Pink Panther Foam Boards....
You said two coats. Do you sand between? I just applied one layer and it appears a lot of the resin has drained out of the drain hole even though I applied tape. Thinking I should apply another layer in case the bowl is thin.
What brand and type of epoxy did you use for this project? Looks great! Thanks for the video!
The Epoxy Resin Store- Super Gloss. Thanks for watching!
Would this work on an old enamel sink?
Thanks
Hi there, I am planning for our bathroom sink, can you please share what epoxy you used in the video or is it supposed to be chosen based on what kind of sink we have?
Would you please show it when it is dried? I can see lots of the bumps of the spray under the epoxy. I need urgently update the bathroom sink top to put the house for sale. Thank you!
Where do you get your epoxy? I have tried a number of different brands, and it always is about a dollar an oz.
I need to form a slope on a flat vanity so water drains better, possible?
Thanks for sharing..
Bro can you do this on an enamel bathtub ?
Name of acrylic binder
Can I do this with a kitchen sink? Will it last
Dunno how Eco Prim Grip does, but I tried MBP. It's terrible, and doesn't work, at least for this application (of priming for paint).
Wasn't able to get a smooth application and tried sanding it down, but as soon as I did, it started flaking/peeling off. (And yes, waited 48h to be safe, despite MBP only saying needing 1-3h).
Beautiful job on the sink!! Question? Could you use this process on an existing shower? While still in place?
Yes you can. You may want to roll on thin layers of epoxy to mitigate runs and drips.
Gorgeous solution to my bathroom sink. Question 1 How difficult is it to safely remove the hardware? Question 2. What do you do to prevent the epoxy from running down the drain? I imagine that it could clog the pipe
So I did this myself. 1. It’s very easy to remove all the hardware. If you don’t know how they have videos. I am a stay at home mom and did this with a 3 month old baby in a carrier on my chest. It’s that easy. 2. We covered the drains very well! Cannot stress this enough. Cover the drains with duct tape and black trash bags! If you have a regular sink and you only want to do the countertops and leave your sink as is. So important! Is the EDGES! Look at where the sink meets the countertop. I messed up and didn’t protect this area well at all. I should have made sure it’s a perfect seal and then cocked it! I covered every single areas with tape and plastic drop cloths. This saved so much pain lol but I should have done it even better because some spots got through. Use the epoxy as if it’s BLACK paint that you can never ever get off.
what kind of epoxy resin did you use?
I used Super Gloss from the epoxy resin store. It's my favorite for counters.
How long should you wait between coats?
as soon as its tacky to the touch you're good to pour your next coat.
How do u know how much epoxy u need to mix
@@Romanelbeborosales great question I measure the square footage and use 4oz per sq ft
Wow. This guy really knows what he's talking about. That does not always happen with DIY videos.
Can I use a heat gun
you sure can!
