The problem is that DC is obsessed with Batman so when they couldn't get Batman they went with the B team in Green Arrow. Ra's Al Ghul wouldn't be interested in Green Arrow being his heir as he's not a genius. There's a reason why Batman and Ra's have so much in common since they are both legendary polymathic intellectuals first and legendary grandmaster-level one-man army warriors second. Green Arrow though not an idiot isn't even close to Batman in terms of intelligence. Batman is an intellectual prodigy amongst a class of William James Sidis-level prodigies while Green Arrow. Batman like Ra’s wants to rid the world of crime, corruption, and pollution but Ra's Al Ghul wants to cull 90 percent of the human population to do it. Though Green Arrow is a great warrior he's not on Batman or Black Canary's level. What Arrow CW did to Mr Terrific should be brought up on charges. If he was written correctly Oliver would be taking orders from him. Green Arrow is a great warrior, a good commander, a good teammate, and most of all a good well-intentioned grounded man that's why he works. Not as another watered-down Batman clone with watered-down Batman’s traits and villains. He works with his own traits and villains elevated to be grounded city-shaking threats. What Green Arrow should be fighting is the Ninth Circle with Count Vertigo one of the world's greatest swordsmen as the leader. Vertigo is using the Ninth Circle slave and drug empire to build up enough to overthrow his niece as monarch of Vlatava. To do so he sees a great opportunity to sell slaves and drugs in Seattle or Star City where he runs afoul of Green Arrow. Lastly, the treatment of Black Canary was awful. You could clearly see they did that for the teenage shippers to push Olicity drama to the forefront even in front of the plot.
Yes I love green arrow he is super underrated and was so good in jla. It showcases his character interaction with others, and his importance with the league. Black canry and green arrow is some of my favorite couples in comics. Jla and young just did black canry very well
Green arrow is one of the most charismatic superheros in comics, it’s surprising how they haven’t thought to use him in live action. A green arrow movie could actually be amazing
If anything, James Gunn’s era of the DC Cinematic Universe seems like the perfect place to put a more comic accurate Green Arrow. It’s likely that if they do end up adapting Oliver, they could end up playing into the fact that he isn’t taken seriously by a number of people (both in universe and outside it) because of his lack of powers despite being “super-abled” (or rather, what comic fans call “peak human) and choice of gimmick and equipment, but if done properly, it could be used to contrast the characters strengths as someone that represents the “little guy” and is focused more on doing as much good as he can despite his limitations instead of grand, epic acts of heroism typically associated with higher level superheroes.
Oliver Queen is my favorite DC character. It feels like Arrow was going to make a Batman show but couldn't get the rights. Amell did an amazing job with the material he was given, but I wish the writers actually did him and the role Justice.
They called him ROZ Al Ghoul (ty for pronouncing it correctly) but the reason is because they wanted a Batman show but instead used GA because they both are billionaires with gadgets even though GA is more like Tony Stark (MCU) with a bow and arrow (in terms of personality). If they wanted a bat name character, dark and brooding, Red Hood...right there. He has next to nothing in terms of his own media independent of Batman.
Roz is actually the correct pronunciation, it's Aramiac for "Imp's Head" like how Damian's Aramiac name is literally Batson (as in Billy), but he spells it Ibn Al'Xushfach. The Timmverse had Talia of all people pronounce it wrong. Raysh is the incorrect form.
That’s not the point he made in JLU, GA didn’t want to be part of the JL because he didn’t feel like was needed with so many heroes that have superpowers , he felt pretty useless and believed he was mostly going to be sidelined ( which does happen as a lot of the heroes are sidelined in the watch tower .) GA believed his place was down on earth handling the thieves and robbers while the JL delt with God level threats .
I think it's supposed to be that they do little for everyday people's day to day struggles (from his perspective). The issue that basically created his modern personality had him dragging Green Lantern into taking down a slum landlord
3:29 to me, this is like having Tom Holland and Zendaya in your movie, but then you kill Zendaya and replace her with a twin that looks exactly like her.
One of the many reasons, I don't rock with DC much anymore, is their insistence on gassing up Batman, usually to the detriment and ridicule of others. GA is a dope character, but he gets little shine because he's relegated to a Batman knockoff. He deserves more respect. Also, thank you for mentioning Mr Terrific. He's such a ridiculously underused character. And the one on Arrow was trash. Hopefully, Gunn does him justice.
I feel like it's the same with Hawkeye in his place in the avengers he always feels like he has to prove himself because everyone has powers and he doesn't. which is why when he first joined he was kind of a jerk to everyone. Nothing captures this more than Avengers EMH which is my favorite version of the character outside of comics I also love his dynamic with hulk and black panther which is why I never liked the MCU version.
BB is the under dog of the titans, it doesn’t feel right without HIM and he can’t seem to do well without THEM (coming from a massive Gar fan.. it’s a sad case but it’s true)

Green Arrow would’ve made for a cool extension to the Batman Arkham franchise and I’m genuinely surprised considering how much DC tried to make Green Arrow like Batman that they didn’t make a Arkham game with some bow mechanics and have Oliver Queen’s rogues as the villains.
He’d deserve to have his own movie or animated series about a underdog facing high level villains and difficult obstacles that requires more than his arrows to survive and shows a underdog can make difference even if he’s alone or not
One of the biggest missed opportunities of the dceu was that Charlie hunnam wanted to play green arrow and WB ignored him. And now by the time the dcu introduces him hunnam would have aged out of the character. And that was a perfect casting.
Technically, if they're willing to have an older version of the character, considering that Hal Jordan is in his mid-50s, apparently in the DCU, Charlie still could be a good Green Arrow.

What is your opinion on Green Arrow from Smallville? That version of Green Arrow was originally meant to have a spin off that lead to the formation of CW’s Arrow. 2:37 Silencer too. Silencer in the comics have a connection to Talia al Ghul and the League of shadow. Silencer was like Talia’s Dick Grayson but rightfully doesn’t want to be an assassin anymore. As much as I appreciate Silencer appears in adaptation. The CW version of Silencer is weird. They established This version is a Meta Human but she need this tech device to use her powers. Why? In the comic Silencer can say shhh and Silent zone without any device. Arrow didn’t do Silencer, dirty I do like her fight with Black Canary. But it is still weird. I should mention Huntress was in Arrow too. And Huntress is also connected to Batman family. 2:58 Brother Blood and Damian Darhk are Teen Titans and Titans Villains. 3:13 Onomatopoeia was in Superman and Lois. You didn’t notice that? I am a writer and want to make an animated write of the Terrfics. But I’m the final horse finish the race. Wish I can write Wonder Woman animated series so I can elevate Wonder Woman’s Rogue Gallery. Seriously all that happened in the fortress of solitude but somehow Jay Nakumara knows. This add of Jay Nakumara being a Gary Stu and Tom Taylor being a Narcissist and messing up The Injustice Timeline. 8:25 Only Speedy(Roy Harper) appears DC AMU. *Only Him!!!* and he only appears in a flashback and Cameo. We need a new team that excludes Batman. Maybe Sideways and Red Canary can start a new team. Not titans not outsiders and not Young Justice. Something new and entirely original. 9:49 That’s true. Even George Lopez likes Ted Kord Blue Beetle more than Batman. Batman is just overrated.
The Green Arrow is so interesting and while I'm glad that he gained popularity from the Arrow show, it didn't do him enough justice as much as it did make him a diet Batman who even fought most of his villains like wtf. He's more of a Nightwing than Batman 10 times out of 10.
I honestly don't remember Talia at all in Arrow but Nyssa is my favorite character probably in the entire Arrowverse. And I love how she's always like, "You're my husband, Oliver. Of course I'll help you." Like, I think she's more or less how Talia is supposed to be... but Talia is a bit more loyal to Ra's and less trustworthy. Nyssa is the best. And she even trains Oliver and Felicity's kids in the future? "Aunt Nyssa" or whatever? Literally the only Flash Forward scenes I didn't skip because I was SO SICK of all the flashbacks when they started doing flash forwards I just noped past them... but the like 2 Nyssa scenes were great, still. Deathstroke was also pretty good in the show. And honestly, I liked everything with Sara Lance. I never really cared much about Black Canary but Laurel was somehow STILL disappointing like 98% of the time... but Sara was just always good, imo. Main reason I kept watching Legends. Although Matt Ryan's Constantine is also perfect, imo. Then again, also not really a fan of Constantine so... maybe that's a sacrilegious statement to actual fans? Idk.

Great post. It’s funny cause after the success of Batman and Robin. Green Arrow was created as a Batman copy to make money. I wonder if Arrow would have worked using his later characterization.
It’s called show business and it’s not created for altruistic purposes. In DC it’s all about the Trinity, especially Bat Fam. I largely blame Batman marks because that’s all anyone wants to see. I’m 56 years old, been reading and collecting since I was a kid in the 70’s. There’s great character and other stories to be told but as long as Batman marks exist, movie studios will produce Batman stories for the General audience. Green Arrow is that guy you don't want at a distance, kinda like how Bullseye fights in Netflix Daredevil. It would be cool to see a villain get up close and personal, but Oliver's skill and willpower give him the win.
Funny because continually he's a master of hand to hand fighter, also has a mastery of sword fighting too just the comics always forgets
It’s weird how the DCAMU didn’t have Green Arrow but had Speedy in that universe, so I kinda wonder if Oliver truly is in that universe or not

The denizens of the DCU despite all the good Ollie and Roy have done in Roy's own words during Titans Rebirth "still see Green Arrow as a wannabe Batman and Speedy as a third-rate Robin." Roy wants Green Arrow and Speedy to be seen as equal to Batman and Robin, but they're always stuck as substitutes in "the shadow of the Bat" no matter what they do.

Arrow felt so pathetic, the writers clearly wanted to do a Batman show and just grabbed the guy who more closely resembled him and twisted him so he resembled more Batman at the cost of losing every important trait of his.
I kinda disagree cause in the comics Green Arrow is literally Batman without all the martial arts training and without the crazy tech. Green Arrow is a billionaire playboy that uses his riches to fight crime in a goofy costume. I think Green Arrow also lost his parents in some horrific accident now who does that sound like

Tbh arrow the show really upgraded Green Arrow in a way that DC would never and live action arrow is the best version of arrow
@@Giannis-s9b nope, live action isn’t even green arrow. It’s Batman in arrow clothing. Lol “elevated green arrow” by making him Discount Batman. Y’all really don’t know what elevating means.
Surprised there's no mention of Green Arrow and his rivalry with Bats in the Brave and the Bold cartoon.
People needs to know that he isn't just Batman with a bow
It’s likely that if they do end up adapting Oliver, they could end up playing into the fact that he isn’t taken seriously by a number of people (both in universe and outside it) because of his lack of powers despite being “super-abled” (or rather, what comic fans call “peak human) and choice of gimmick and equipment, but if done properly, it could be used to contrast the characters strengths as someone that represents the “little guy” and is focused more on doing as much good as he can despite his limitations instead of grand, epic acts of heroism typically associated with higher level superheroes.
green arrow is really awesome and super underrated in my opinion.
Oliver Queen is my favorite DC character. It feels like Arrow was going to make a Batman show but couldn't get the rights. Amell did an amazing job with the material he was given, but I wish the writers actually did him and the role Justice.
Can't forget brave and the bold GA a more arrogant take and kinda the butt of the joke but also really likable
I feel like Smallville got the correct tone and vibe for Green Arrow, in live action
A Green Arrow movie should an adaption of year one, in my humble opinión.
@@ArcTrooper269 Indeed.
GL thinks the JL doesn't protect the little guy yet isn't that what saving the world is, saving all the little guys?
That’s not the point he made in JLU, GA didn’t want to be part of the JL because he didn’t feel like was needed with so many heroes that have superpowers , he felt pretty useless and believed he was mostly going to be sidelined ( which does happen as a lot of the heroes are sidelined in the watch tower .)
GA believed his place was down on earth handling the thieves and robbers while the JL delt with God level threats .
I think it's supposed to be that they do little for everyday people's day to day struggles (from his perspective). The issue that basically created his modern personality had him dragging Green Lantern into taking down a slum landlord
Man this guy deserves a tv show
3:29 to me, this is like having Tom Holland and Zendaya in your movie, but then you kill Zendaya and replace her with a twin that looks exactly like her.
Our green brethren are slept on historically
Arrow was pretty good for the first 2 seasons except for parts where the writers tried so damn hard to make him sound like Christian Bale’s Batman.
Also yea 3:19 Black Canary was disgustingly miscast and they should’ve let the blonde chick who played White Canary just be Black Canary like wtf?!!
4:34 completely off topic but I love that in almost every verse that Clark and Bruce look alike
WHAT? 😮
Technically, if they're willing to have an older version of the character, considering that Hal Jordan is in his mid-50s, apparently in the DCU, Charlie still could be a good Green Arrow.
@@SecretMagician yeah I guess, I hope not because it’s not the same having an older Hal Jordan when you can use Stewart or Rayner than having an older green arrow and having to use Roy Harper as your main one

Smallville Green Arrow was the best LAGA adaptation ever
Vertigo was in Arrow, but as Drug Dealer than a count. Also there two of them. Cecil Adams and Werner Zytle
So far in my mind of original green Malcom Merlyn and Cupid are the only Green Arrow Villains Along with Vertigo. I believe there is more.
But if it make you Feel better there is a misconception that Clock King is a Batman Villain. Turns out, Clock King was in fact a Green Arrow Villain in the comics in 1960.

Talking about wasted potential... Vixen needs more love 🧡
Idk.
That’s the best way to describe it, they tried to make the arrow into the Batman.
The "newer" dc are probably worried about audiences confusing the "green arrow" and the "hawkeye" characters up.
Can u make a shazam video, he is also underestimated
Lmfao in the animated series every time they start talking shit about black canary fighting immediately in the next frame they do flying. It’s so funny to me
I bet Warner Animation Group will sideline the SHIT out of Green Arrow in any of their next quote unquote “animated” “movies” when they clearly see Batman as their coping mechanism to show their bias!

I’m 56 years old, been reading and collecting since I was a kid in the 70’s. There’s great character and other stories to be told but as long as Batman marks exist, movie studios will produce Batman stories for the General audience.
