Very well done vid, I appreciate the time you took to go over all the parts and removal. I had already replaced every gasket and O ring on that V-tech unit for my 95 EJ1 and just got a CEL 22 code. I didn't even realize there were two versions of that V-tech assembly. Made me go back and look at mine to be sure I got the right one. The troubleshooting schematics were a big help too, my pressure switch had no continuity so, I am replacing it now. Thanks a lot for this, it really helped.
Thank you so much for posting this video! My 04 ex just popped this code. And I have been freaking out thinking it was a vacuum issue. I'm hoping that cleaning my assembly and just replacing the pressure switch will fix my problems. The car started stalling on me me today if the rpms went below 1000.
My Ecu is most likely the issue too. Water leaked from my sunroof drain hose which wasn't properly routed out the car. Pulled apart my ecu cleaned it and dried it out but still giving me issues. Plus all the capacitors have leaked. So it's definitely time for a new one.
Water getting in the ecus, due to roof leaks, seems to be a common problem when these cars get older. I relocated my ecu because of this and will fix the rust hole near the windshield, when I feel like removing the windshield *sigh*.
Very Good video !! my friend.I like it all your videos, and it's easy to understand all your video..Good jobe and very easy to understand everything. ie very easy to understand you.have a good weekend .att sam
Hi, i change the VTEC for crv 2003 . But after that, When the car exceeds 120 kmph, the gas pedal is disconnected and I cannot accelerate. And the car is churn. I had to slow down. Is there a solution please
The car would start hesitating at low rpm after driving for 20+ minutes. I'd have to give more gas than usual and fan the clutch to get it to go. Very annoying issue but turned out to be an ecu issue. Sorry for the very late reply.
I like to replace all the gaskets, when working on a specific part, for peace of mind and because of the age of these cars now. Sorry for the very late reply.
A strong magnet may be enough to pull it out. If not, maybe try covering the plunger with a piece of rubber or something(to protect it from getting marred) and use some strong needle nose pliers to nudge it up, little by little. Be careful not to damage anything because they're pricey to replace!
any1 can help? i get code 21 when i start the car no engine lights but now after i hit Vtec my engine light will turn on and now after i restart my car the engine light will go aawy whats the problem how to fix this? help please
Jermaine Shelly I’m havig the same problem with my 97 cl it will engage normally for the most part but it does lag super late sometimes for f series like 5500 like it’s a d series vtec even tho limited is 6200 but it will only go into a limp mode from vtec if I go close to the redline doing pulls from 1st to 2nd then or 2nd to 3 or 4 to 3rd then I turn of and bump it or start it again and it’s fine like it never happened
Possibly. If you're getting code 21 or 22 then follow the troubleshooting guide, in the beginning of the video, to see if you can track down the issue. Those codes could be related to something that would cause the issues you're having.

i know i was experiencing low idle say around 578 rpm then the sputtering when at normal operation temp.
What idle issues did you have that were associated with the problem?
The car would start hesitating at low rpm after driving for 20+ minutes. I'd have to give more gas than usual and fan the clutch to get it to go. Very annoying issue but turned out to be an ecu issue. Sorry for the very late reply.
Did your car occasionally stall out at lights or just when idling ? Mine does it all the time. Has gotten worse.
John DePalma
mine did it but I just changed the ignition switch
I have a leak in my solenoid on my 98 prelude but no light for it. looking to replace main gasket/filter. should I also replace the small round one?

Hey man! Do you know how can i release the vtec spool valve when it is stuck, bad to come out?
