Mechanic keeps ripping people off right. I had that problem with Honda CR-V. One guy took $700 to fix it for me. Still leaking. Last month Honda dealership took another $450 to fix it same leaking. Now I will try myself, I ordered the gasket I am waiting for it. Thanks 👍👍👍
Oh yes! I had to change my knock sensor on our 04 CRV and it was almost impossible because of the tight clearance. Ended up finger-tightening for starters with the very tips of my fingers, then finishing with a wrench. What a mess.

This was a surprisingly easy fix! Having a mirror definitely helped. For me the hardest part was getting the wire off that are zipped tied to the bracket. I used my cordless 3/8 ratchet loosed it by hand then the zipped it off. I used a 1/4" socket with a short extension to put it back.

I just replaced the solenoid as you have shown us in this video although I'm still getting the same error code (P1259). Could the problem be the wiring to the solenoid? If so, how do I fix this?
Jessica Adriana I would do an engine flush, I think your VThec selenoid keep on getting plugged, or you got to be cleaning the little filter clear until oil runs in there nicely and you’ll solve your problem. Cheers
Jessica Adriana yeah when the vtech won’t kick in it won’t have power, they perform based on oil pressure those selenoids once that little screen is clean your are set. I hear you

Hello, I have a question regarding the vtec, I have a 2007 k24 z CRV engine and my VTEC only has one sensor, it does not have an oil pressure sensor Where does the oil pressure sensor go It has a screw. I have an oil leak. I have already changed the VTEC seal and the valve cover seal. It continued with the oil leak, I start the engine and I look at where it comes from, I can't see where it does it And the leak comes from above only appears after a while of using the car
I got an ‘03 CRV with error code P1259 (Vtec system malfunction), among other errors for misfire and intake manifold, and a crank-no start situation. Would replacing this VVT Solenoid do the trick for my crank-no start situation?

Great video but out of 3 bolts I was only able to remove one. The other two rounded out...badly. I've tried at least 5 different magic sockets to remove the bolts...no luck. Now I've only been able to drive my Honda Element up 67 mph! Seriously...I go to sleep thinking about how I can remove those two bolts from "heck!'
Never use "magic sockets" or "gator grips" for anything that is very tight. When confronting a really tight nut or bolt, there's no substitute for a quality wrench or socket. I would bet that a snap-on brand socket will still remove that badly rounded bolt head. They're really that much better. I keep snap-on in the most common sizes.
Now what do you do if the bolts are not gripping to your socket and are wanting to strip. and you can't get the bolts out Does anybody have any suggestions?
