Another request video. This time it's the first two red rangers who are being compared. Jason Lee Scott vs Rocky DeSantos. Who do you think is the better fighter?
Amen to that no other Red Ranger to take Jason place could of been better Jason in way shouldn't have lefted 😢. Jason was and still is the better Red Ranger and he proved it in both Forever Red and in the Turbo Movie. Jason had Eric,Wes, Andros, TJ, Carter, The Red Allein Ranger, Leo, Cole, Rocky and even Tommy beat as the better Red Ranger in my book.

He showed more promise as a blue ranger in Zeo but didn't get a fair shake when it came to being second in command, so I was hoping Turbo would flesh him out more like Tommy and the others.
Rocky is more of a finesse fighter like Tommy was on MMPR. Jason was more of a power fighter and used his fists and kicks equally in his fights. While Tommy and Rocky are probably more agile than Jason, that doesn't really mean much if your kicks and punches aren't landing hard or connecting with your opponent. It's almost just show boating. Whereas Jason's punches and kicks look like they would legitimately hurt his opponents. He also looks like he has more rage and focus against his opponents than Tommy and Rocky ever did. Let's not forget Jason's history as well compared to Rocky's. Jason has beaten monsters on his own without the rest of the team. He saved his team a few times over. He beat Tommy twice one-on-one. He fought Goldar and the Evil Green Ranger unmorphed in the evil dimension and got a lot of hits in. He accomplished a lot on his own and was very determined. Rocky usually relied on his teammates for most of MMPR. When Jason came back in Zeo, I'd go as far as to say he was definitely the dominant ranger of the team, even way above Tommy at that point. He was literally the muscle of the team in Zeo.
Definitely Jason. I liked Rocky but he was a red ranger but wasn't the leader and he got replaced by a kid. Jason was the original red ranger and first leader of the power rangers, He's the one that Defeated Tommy and broke Rita's spell. He became the Gold Zeo ranger.
Watching this... I thought Jason was the better fighter. I found his kicks and punches to be more powerful and quicker than Rocky's and that his body movements seemed to have a purpose. Rocky on the other hand seemed a bit sluggish to me and his footing seemed kinda off. It seems like he was going to fall over sometimes when he does his kicks.
I actually like Rocky but he didn't really do much. He was good as the Blue Zeo Ranger but Jason is the original Red Ranger and first leader. Jason is obviously the best. I like how Boom Studios has been writing Jason as a brotherly figure to Rocky. In a recent comic Jason even told him to not feel bad about living up to his legacy and that it doesn't matter what costume you wear just be who are.
I like Rocky cause he’s a goofball. I like his fighting style and Steve really is an amazing martial artist. He looks like he had a lot of fun with the fight scenes. I’m sure Austin did too but those are just my observations! However, Jason is my guy and will always be THE red Ranger! His leadership skills and his chemistry with the original five is why I chose him over Rocky.
Not to mention, Jason was able to adapt to his environment better than Rocky ever did. We saw this when Jason fought Tommy in the karate tournament, back in season one. Tommy was the hardest fighter Jason has ever faced, and was able to turn a near loss into a tie. Not to mention, it's been said on the show that Tommy is the only fighter to ever march Jason, skill from skill. This was said in Zeo. So Jason is better than Rocky, hands down. The better comparison is between Jason and Tommy.

Jason destroyed a few of Rita's, Zedd's, and Gasket's monsters by himself, held his own against Goldar and King Sphinx during isolation, held his own unMorphed against Goldar and Morphed evil Tommy in the Dark Dimension, destroyed the Sword of DarkNess and turned Tommy back to normal, held his own against ShellShock, and was the muscle of the Zeo Power Rangers.
The first Red Ranger will always be to me the best Ranger, Jason (Austin St. John) was even the youngest member of the crew when the show first even started. Until this day when I look back at all his episodes I found his fighting alot more better than everyone else.
Didn't care much for Rocky's "Hi-ya!". Jason sounds more like he's kicking ass (until you reach the point in Season 2 where he's dubbed over by someone else).
Tommy's "ha si hi-ya!" is what always got on my nerves. If you go back and watch his fights it's always the exact same sound over and over again, at least when he was the green ranger. I actually didn't notice it until I was older, and haven't watched the Rocky episodes enough for his "hi-ya" to get on my nerves. I love Tommy though.

Not to mention, ASJ is more skilled in real life than SC. That often determined the kill of the character. Not to mention, Jason was a real leader why Rocky was just one of the guys. Jason Was a All Around Fighter, Rocky just had Speed and Intesity He wasn't a Leader Type and Didn't Make Sacrifices For His Other Fellow Rangers All He Did was Make up some Catchphrases To Pump them up
I still think Austin was an all around better martial artist than Steve. When Austin came back as the Gold Ranger, he looked like he beefed up even more and got quicker with his kicks and punches. I think he was even quicker than JDF with his kicks and flips when he came back to Zeo. I don't even think JDF/Tommy was on Austin's level during Zeo and they were evenly matched during MMPR.
Rocky moves like a ballerina while Jason moves like a striker. It's a shame Jason had to leave because of showbiz bullshit. The Red Dragon Thunderzord was sick too! He should've kept leading the rangers.

Many salutations!!! After seeing Jason and Rocky do their thing, it is clear to me that they both have their own strengths and weaknesses. It seems that the objective of fighting with the Putty Patrol is to outlast them in terms of stamina. The only fair technique for appraising that is for Rocky to fight Rita's Putty Patrol and then to have Jason do that. Lord Zedd's Putty Patrollers have an obvious weak point which makes them more straightforward as an adversary than Rita's Putty Patrollers; even though the plot of MMPR has a period where Jason and Rocky fight the Z Putties, it is hard to determine who makes the better Red Ranger based on combat performance. "Aim for the Z emblem" ... not that hard to pull off. I personally would like to see how Jason does against the Tenga Warriors, though.
Jason wins by a mile. Rocky's good with them kicks, but Jason had more intensity and power. Plus, just watching the two, Jason seems more experienced and capable when it comes to fighting.
At 4:07 one of the best putty destruction. Rocky kicks the chest plate that immediately starts to glow, the kick is so strong that the putty has a full spin before landing face down and rolling face up. It also grabs the plate and it seems to fight to avoid exploding... before glowing and shattering...
This is a hard comparison because its obvious after Season 1 Saban put more money into the fight scenes.. Most of season 1 unmorphed fights were just goofy and stupid. By season 2 The fight choreo improved greatly and Jason wasnt around that long to benefit from it.

Rocky was a good fighter, but he was never a LEADER. They tried to push him as a second in command in the beginning, but it didn't work. They moved Kim to second in command. Jason just had IT.

Personally I think when Austin, Walter, and Thuy left they should have had a storyline to transfer the entire team to the dairanger suits to match tommy as the white ranger and all the footage of the zords and stuff. Missed opportunity.
Jason clearly was the better red ranger. Jason was the leader. When Rocky took over, the red ranger became "just another guy" on the team. After Jason left, the show basically became "Tommy and the Other Guys" and it wasn't near as good. It was ok, but the show clearly suffered w/out Zack and Jason. Aisha was the only one that was better than her original counterpart. Adam was a nice guy, but had no charisma. Rocky lacked Jason's intensity.
I've felt Rocky should've always been a Blue Ranger even before Zeo. But had to wear Red Ranger suit at first cuz Jason left and Billy was Blue Ranger at the time.

If you are a true power ranger fan you would pick Jason over Rocky. I’m not hating on Rocky he’s a good ranger, but nowhere near as Jason. Rocky is a good Blue ranger, but not a Red ranger. Its like Power v Agility, which one wins? Jason sure had the power, but Rocky had much more agility, if you really take out the part that Jason was first and Rocky replaced him you see that they both had their good parts. I Know I love Jason, he's my favorite Red Ranger, but I love Rocky too, its so hard to make up my mind on this one.

After Jason left, the show basically became "Tommy and the Other Guys" and it wasn't near as good. It was ok, but the show clearly suffered w/out Zack and Jason. Aisha was the only one that was better than her original counterpart. Adam was a nice guy, but had no charisma. Rocky lacked Jason's intensity.
I've felt Rocky should've always been a Blue Ranger even before Zeo. But had to wear Red Ranger suit at first cuz Jason left and Billy was Blue Ranger at the time.

maybe is because the show i could only see the time it was aired and the movie i could watch as much as i wanted, but Rocky would be my choice...tho Trini has always my my fave yellow ranger...so i dont know..i guess 7 year old me also didnt feel for Jason as much as for Rocky.
To me Jason will always be the best red ranger no matter who comes after. Hell he is the best ranger of all time.
If you are a true power ranger fan you would pick Jason over Rocky. I’m not hating on Rocky he’s a good ranger, but nowhere near as Jason. Rocky is a good Blue ranger, but not a Red ranger. In my opinion Jason was a better leader than Tommy. Ain’t gonna lie it bother me a lot when Tommy became the new leader out of no where, but then Jason left 2 episodes later.

Jason is far better than Rocky. It's not even close.
Its like Power v Agility, which one wins? Jason sure had the power, but Rocky had much more agility, if you really take out the part that Jason was first and Rocky replaced him you see that they both had their good parts. I Know I love Jason, he's my favorite Red Ranger, but I love Rocky too, its so hard to make up my mind on this one.

I grew up with both Jason and Rocky, and even though I loved Jason, I have to hand it to Rocky. Something about he's personality, I've always loved his spunk!!
