- As per a request, here is the video comparing the first two black power rangers Zack Taylor & Adam Park. This video will showcase the two fighting the Putty Patrol unmorphed. I hope you enjoy it.

Adam was the only one well received from the original 3 replacement which is funny because his character talked the least out of any ranger in the franchise history.
Re watching this, Zack has a really cool fighting style out of the cast. He combines dancing with aikido which makes him the most visually impressive out of the cast.
Zack Taylor will always be the true Black Mighty Morphin Ranger.
I had more Respect for Adam Park as green zeo.
Adam was black ranger for the same amount of time as Zack.
I think both of them are good cause now adam is zeo ranger four and he is green and now zack trini can go back as black and yellow

Walter Jones (Zack) was a freak athlete with awesome moves, whereas Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam) seemed to be a more proficient martial artist with more understated and smooth athleticism. Both quite good in the "unmorphed" fight sequences. I score it a draw.
It's close to a draw unMorphed with the z-putties but Adam didn't close even close to Zack's level until after Zeo Quest but Adam as Zeo 4 Green Power Ranger would make Zack proud.
Zack's attacks would be a surprise in a fight due to his hip hop kiddo and but Adam is beyond skilled and is such a combative force this a hard one to call.
You took the words out of my mouth. Zack was more versatile, agile, and energetic. His fighting style was more diverse, as well as unique.
I had the honor or meeting zack at a con. As a kid he was one of my all time favorites. Both however were both great, 2 different fighting styles, and different personalities.
So hard to choose which one was better! They were both good in their own way!
Zack will always be the Black Ranger in my book, Adam was good too, but better in Zeo as the Green Ranger because he had his own identity instead of replacing someone.
This man Zack was out here doing mid-air splits and pulling Bruce Lee type moves. He’s the clear winner for me.

Adam had to come back TWICE just to be remembered.
Both were really great. I don't see any reason to hate on either. Zack and Adam had totally different personalities and brought something different to the show. I will say that Zack was more entertaining as he character was more developed but Adam was so cute I couldn't help but to love any scene he was in. I can't choose.

By the time Adam came, Saban had more money for better fight scenes and such. You can see in Zack's fight scene with his twists, the action is more high paced.

Man this is a tough one but I have to go with Zack and not just because he's he's my favorite, but his reaction time in combat and reflexes is spot on. Adam has more power in Zack but powerful blows won't do anything if they can't land, not to mention Capoeira is one of those unpredictable moves.

Adam was good but he cant touch Zack, Zack had everything!! he could fight, dance, had his own damn MA style, i think he sung in one episode, and he had SWAGG!!!
i like adam's commitment and loyalty i think that was one of his strongest points.
Adam was a much better martial artist though. He was probably the best martial artist on the show.

I like Zack's hiphop kido and Adam definitely has proficient martial arts skills. Difficult decision indeed so I'm indecisive. Both are awesome!
Tbh, it's hard to choose, they both got speed, zack with his dancing moves, adam with his flashing moves, cause I like both their styles of fighting unmorphed, i don't care what anyone says, they both were my favoritest rangers of all throughout whole the show!
Adam was nice. He had the speed, but Zack had the finesse and the precision.

Also, Zack Taylor is the better ranger. Adam's foot work is probably cleaner, but he lacked a lot in the charisma and entertainment department in regards to his character, and Zack had more power in those kicks

Roderick Cummings Sure, the actor who played Adam went on to have a better career. But in terms of strictly who was the better Black MMPR, it’s Zack hands down.

I think one of the main reasons why Adam is so popular now a days is because Johnny Young Bosch (The actor who plays Adam) is nice to the fans. People don't like Adam. They like Johnny Young Bosch
Loved both of them, zack was charismatic and Adam was sweet and kind you just wanted to cuddle him.
Adam's moves at the end are pretty sick though

I go with Zack, but barely. Both are amazing and their fight scenes never got stale. They always had new moves and they were both flexible and agile. In the end I pick Zack because he is slightly quicker and more energetic.
The whole mmpr team did most of their own stunts.
In fact, in order to be on the show, you HAD to be either a martial artist, Dancer, or gymnast.
That B-Twist @5:27 is what inspired me to try it. I still remember that day I first saw it. People need to stop comparing Walter and Johnny. They are both really good in their own styles. Adam was not meant to fight like Zach, new season, new styles. Period. They both served their purpose. And they are both good at what they do. I really enjoyed this video tho. Nice work!
I've actually met Walter Jones at the Power Morphicon 2 and personally I think Zack has more of a personality. Adam is slick like Rocky is and has better leg extension. You have to also keep in mind that Zack is shorter than Adam. Both of them are excititng as fighters, but personality wise I think Adam is a little dry. Zack wins! :)
Damn, this is a close one. I like Zack's fancier dance moves, but Adam's hits look more destructive, reminds me a lot about Jason. I wished Adam replaced Jason, and Rocky replaced Zack instead.

You can see the martial arts training in Zack. (or rather the actor). Comparing him to Adam (and the actor) is like saying Kimberly Jo Johnson was a competant fighter.
Red Ranger position in MMPR was kinda useless once Tommy became the White Ranger. Tommy basically was the leader at that point, so I’d rather Rocky keep the Red Ranger and Adam keep the Black Ranger
Adam obviously has more experience in martial arts and his Wushu style is more fluid. Zack was a dancer first but was trained in different styles for the show. Both are agile and fast but Adam is smoother, Zack is more powerful.
I love love love both characters because Zack/Walter he was the original and he was always full of life there is not episode where he is not dancing and I like the fact that he mixed up his fighting than the others. Adam/johnny in MMPR I didn't really notice him but I soon realize he was a valuable player to the team he is very funny, caring, cute, and kind. Adam is sexy!!! (Adam and Tanya forever). So it's hard to choose between them cuz they were both good rangers.
Zack is by far the better ranger in terms of fighting skill. Adam made way too many mistakes...obvious faults in his martial arts. It gives away the illusion that he's in an actual fight.
We could had seen those two fight Putties together on Once & Always. O&A is where we finally seen Zack and Adam share the same scene together and interacted with each other without any stock footage or body doubles

First off Adam's comparisons are against Zedd's putties which took more precision to destroy. As you'll notice on Zack's last fight he isn't as agile or show-offy as he is aiming his kicks and whatnot at the Z's, while Adam has to focus upon those areas the entire time to defeat them. So to those that claim Zack was better in general due to agility and whatnot, remember, the scope of the enemies was far different.
Zack was and will always be the best, original, Black Power Ranger.

Zack is the original and best black ranger, but Adam is the better Ranger overall since he stays on longer up untill turbo, and makes returns in other series. He goes from shy black ranger to second in command in Turbo and leads rangers in his comeback in Overdrive (I think). So he has made a bigger impact in the power ranger universe.

I think Zack's a better fighter, he's way more cool to watch and a total beast. People always say Adams better, I guess I can see why but for me Zack is the best. Adam got more time to show his skills and plus the only reason some people like Adam is because he returned in PROO instead of Zack. But overall their both really great fighters, I just like Zack better.
First Episode I watched of Power Rangers was when Trini, Zack, And Jason left and Rocky, Adam, And Aisha joined. To me personally, those three have always been my comparison, just like how I compare Blue Rangers to Billy, Pink Rangers to Kimberly, and Sixth Rangers to Tommy.

This isn't a completely fair comparison. You started out comparing how well Zack fought Rita's Putties to how well Adam fought Zedd's Putties. Rita's Putties required strength developed after fighting them so many times. Zedd's Putties required precision developed after aiming for the Z so many times. Zack had a year of unmorphed fighting experience against Rita's Putties, a couple months of unmorphed fighting experience against Zedd's Putties, and a few occasions of being put in a position of leadership due to Jason's absence. Adam had a couple months of unmorphed fighting experience against Zedd's Putties and once managed to fend off some of Mondo's Cogs without his powers. But that was just a nightmare from that dumb movie he was watching before he fell asleep. Zack could make short work of a whole army of Cogs without his powers. We already saw Jason and Tommy handle Cogs without their powers. And they weren't even dreaming. And the winner is: Zack Taylor as the Black Ranger. He'd have been a better Zeo Ranger 4 Green.
If you go off of how clean the moves look Adam gets this but to be honest I think at the time Adam had been taking martials arts longer. On the defense for Zack he had to incorporate some type of "dance" into his fighting. That also played a part in his moves not looking too clean. Since I have actually taken martial arts and got close to being a blackbelt I understand how hard it would be to incorporate other things into your fighting when you have yet to master it yet. zack is still my fav
zack is cool to watch but he's more so a show boat. he' cool and he can dance and mix it up and all and was the one to take over when Jason was missing in action, of course before tommy came into the scene. but adam is more serious. Comparing these two is like comparing jet lei to jacky chan.

It'll always be Zack for me. Not that Adam was bad just because Zack was an O.G and his fighting style was very unique and as kid I tried to copy all his moves.
This one here is the exception. Zack had jeet kune do, hapkido, and his exceptional dancing skills only made him better. Not sure what styles Adam had, maybe a little wing chun, but he's Asian, and not to stereotype here but he had that helping him too lol. This is prolly the ONLY real tie for comparing fighting ability. As Kim and Trini were CLEARLY better fighters than Kat or Aisha...

for the spining kick style i recall the basis of taekwond way of kicking perharps some gymnastic background as well as ninjutsu for grap techs and so on either way this was a decent show even tho a lot of the scenes were edition of the japanese Sentai Zyuuranger
Adam is Johnny Young Bosch, half Irish, half Korean. Taekwondo is what he did. Both were great
Trini and Kimberley were both shitty fighters. Kim had some nice gymnastic moves, but they had nothing to do with fighting skills. Aisha sucked too. I don't remember Kat since she only played a few episodes in MMPR.
They're both good... impossible to choose a favorite. Although I have to state; it's like these guys are far better fighters WITHOUT their powers than with... their fighting is much faster, more complex, and more dynamic out of suit than in suit; quite funny
Well since I had a huge crush on both rangers it's fair to say I am picking bother as best fighters.

zack and adam together with their mmpr black ranger powers if it were ever possible for them both to have their powers at the same time would be equal to or better then a whole squad of rangers from most of the other seasons in my opinion. add in tommy with his green white or black ranger powers and just wow. would be really cool to see all of them as black rangers at the same time.
and it might be possible because i'm told as part of the legendary war story line all the past rangers have all of their powers back.
which means adam would have his mmpr, zeo, and turbo powers back, tommy would have his mmpr dino/thunder/ninja, zeo, turbo, and dino thunder powers back, zack would have his mmpr powers back also, and jason would have both his red ranger and gold ranger powers back and i'm told in the japanese version the gold ranger was also a black ranger so you could have all 4 of them as black rangers in a forever black episode someday even bringing back carlos from in space and the "hotshot" black ranger from dino charge season and bring back shadow ranger and bring back phantom ranger and magna defender etcetera.
if the voice actor for zordon was still alive a good mission for them would be to stop zordon from being destroyed and save him some how. the zwave that was supposed to cleanse the universe when that season of in space was thought to be the end of the franchise proved not to work due to timeline changes and some outer parts of the universe not being effected and new beings turning evil later on so really there was no need for the zwave with the franchise not ending after all and if anyone could save zordon and alpha 5 it would be all the black rangers.
but i'm sure they could come up with another mission for them all if they ever wanted to make it happen. it would be cool as hell. probably never be able to happen though since power rangers shows nowdays seem to only be 5-10 minutes of actual show if that, lol.

Just based off movement and fighting style, Adam's moves were faster and cleaner than Zacks. Although Zack did alot more tricks, Adam's attacks LOOKED as if he actually kicked them more often than Zack's did. So when comparing the two, I have to say Adam wins. GO ADAM!! Zack was great too, I liked the tree flip. ;)
Zack was always the one i remembered from when i was a kid, the black ranger was always my favourite. Best zord, best weapon and best fighting style.

Zack wins hands down....zack was funny..he was fast when he fight..and he was also a dancer. Adam on the other hand..he was kind of boring to watch compare to zack..

Zacks' fighting style was more freestyle martial arts composed with dancing. He was the man!! The show sucked when he left. Zack will always be the best black ranger!!
This is tough... Zack had better rhythm and timing but Adam's technique is smooth...and flows well..it's like Capoeira/Hiphop kido vs Kung fu /Tae kwon do
Zack was the much better chocie for the black ranger and he's a better fighter then Adam. Zack uses his dancing skills to fight while Adam copy's Tommy while fighting
Adam all the way. Nothing against Zack but in my opinion he's a better martial artist and the second most experienced and badass ranger in Power Rangers history. First obviously Tommy Oliver.
IMO, Zack was always the best fighter out of the original 5. Jason was just the born leader, whereas Zack had the most training out of everybody (Jason trained on one type of style, Zack trained with 2).

From a martial arts point of view I like Adam more than Zack. He's very fluent and quick, although Zack definitely improved his skills as the show progressed.
Walter Jones was a martial artist. He had black belts in Taeqwondo and Karate. Johnny Bosch was supposedly a self martial artist.

To me Zac had originality in his moves and it was great that he combined dancing with MA, but at the end of the day I have to give my vote to Adam, just look at him he's so agile and graceful, not that Zac isn't but Adam demonstrated over and over his skill, in later seasons I thought he even fought better than Tommy, its just that he wasn't Red that didn't get him as much attention as Tommy, but again its only my opinion.

Hard to judge. I like Zack and all, being the original, but Adam actually does REAL martial arts. Zack is kinda just improvising with his dance moves, but i know he still knows some actual fighting styles. They're close, but honestly, I have to say Adam is SLIGHTLY better.

I say tht zack was more fluid and adam was more traditional. Zack had to lose most of the hip hop kido when zedd's putties started to show up becuase all he had to do was hit the Z but rita's putties you had to beat them there was no Z. It mostly prefers to who you like more as the black ranger and for me it was Zack
