I've actually wondered before if you guys would talk about incubi and succubi given the Nephilim connection. Well, here it is. Honestly the episode felt a little short. The cliff hanger at the end of the second half really interested me: "the opposite of demon isn't angel, but. . . Saint." Fitting, as I listened to this Halloween night, the next day being All Saints Day as a Roman Catholic. But I'm surprised you guys didn't really talk about what that meant. . .
It is interesting that though demons don't have physical bodies, they can in fact directly interact with the physical world, causing objects to move and physically harming people.
Fun language fact: The y in "ye" isn't a "y". It is a thorn "þ". It was the "th" sound before the latinized "th" letter configuration became dominant in English. So "I pray ye..." was pronounded exactly like "I pray thee..." There was no "ye" the way we say it now. It was always "thee"... just an alternate spelling.
"Ye" is the nominative form of "you" (the second person plural) in Middle and Early Modern English. It was absolutely a thing, and it existed in Old English, as well, though spelled "ge" (and pronounced "yee"). "I pray ye" is wrong by itself, of course (it should be "I pray you," since it is accusative), but if used as beginning a phrase it can be correct, e.g., "I pray ye have me excused," where "ye" is the subject of "ye have." It is true that there is a confusion of "ye" from "the" (not "thee") as in "Ye Olde Shoe Shoppe," but that is a separate issue. Lots more here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ye_(pronoun)
Can anyone point me to which episode discusses the Greek myths (Hesiod) as amalgam of Indo-European and then Semitic origins? Sounds interesting. Sounds like the exact gap in my knowledge that needs to be filled....with more knowledge. Thx
Just came by to say that the Thomas Aquinas’ theory of how an succubu/incubus could impregnate a woman constitutes a pretty major plot thread in Stephen King’s DARK TOWER series.
Very Well done. Is it not good to join these views with some other Christian video source(s) ' views to help mitigate the separatism between the Catholic, Protestant, Puritan Churches as well as the Home churches. May Yeshua, Jesus and The Holy Spirit bless us all.
Thank you very much Fathers for another episode. A thing that came to mind during the 3rd half, pardon if I've confused something, but since the opposite of demons are Saints and we do have male and female Saints, does this then naturally mean that there indeed are male and female demons, due to them being deceased humans of either gender or does something with them being disembodied remove the gender concept entirely?
1:13:07 But you talked about giants earlier in this episode, with the "heroes" being daemons and their shrines being attached to gods that Assassin's Creed: Odyssey got right.
Best episode I been thinking all these things were real. It's time to stomp on some imps, pray for me
Going to be tough to beat this one Great episode Fathers great episode¡!!!!

What is the link between daimon (divider) and damon (cattle)?
What about the 6 fingers and the size of the bed?
