The Agonist did it 5 years ago and subjectively their version is better. I like Jonathan's covers, but this one is an example of overdoing it.
If the original is a ballad of a Forbidden, but mutual love pining for a safe world for their love. This is a power ballad of someone who has been cast aside so the other can "fit in" even though the love is mutual. And the singer is the cast aside lover screaming they are willing to fight for their love.

Okay this is straight up my favourite version of this song. You switch so flawlessly between heavy and melodic, there's really nothing out there that compares.
God damn, Jonathan's harsh vocals starting at 2:30 was like an injection of adrenaline straight into my veins lmao, hyped me up so much; FANTASTIC cover, this one ranks pretty high for me. I also like this format of video, just being able to watch how Jonathan sings is an experience in of itself; so expressive! Keep it up!!!

I've been following you for like...5? 6 Years now? I remember meeting you at Metrocon 2018, and dude your voice has always been so good, but I think this song just kind of showcases how much you've improved in your time on youtube. You just have such confident control over your vocals, it's amazing to hear. Love seeing a Jonathan Young Cover in my notifications!

I've said this before and I'll say it again, you have such a unique and great voice! I want to emphasize the unique part (even though it is equally wonderful!) because I feel like so many singers out there right now are trying to just sound like each other. If I go to the radio or the Voice, I feel like I only hear the same few styles and voices. It's annoying and frankly very boring to me. That's why it's so refreshing to hear you. You sound like your own artist, not this person or that one, all I can happily say when I listen to your music is that you sound like Jonathan Young 😁

I never realized how deep (a fellow) Jonathan's voice is when his singing. Tons of singing at the start was made so much more powerful and operatic (also 3:00 as a notable operatic belt moment) simply by the depth of his range there, and it sounds so wonderful.. I'm just very impressed all throughout. Another great part to mention was the harsh vocals before the end, including the solid false chord growling
