I LIIIIVE for a gray shoe! Love love love! Also, not sure where you are located but in NYC they have a service for shoes that the Louboutin store has a connection with where you can either re-lacquer the bottom to make it new again, or add a rubber red bottom in place of the lacquer so it never scuffs. You're also spot on with sizing down. I'm usually a 42 in most stores but I usually get a 41 1/2 for Loubs since they tend to run a bit big for me. I actually have a boot in 41 that I got at a sample sale that fits me perfectly.

I’ve visited the men’s only store in NYC when I was there, but otherwise I’m too far away :( We have a shoe repair place here in Houston that specializes in high end shoes, so once/if the Zaggs wear out I’ll move on to that route :) Boots are super on the radar for the next purchase, and I was a size down when I tried them on ... I’m eyeing a navy pair I hope goes on seasonal clearance lol

Hi! Just found your channel today. I own about 6 pair of CL's (my Roadie boots are easily my fave) and wanted to hear your thoughts on the Mortimer. I have a wedding in May that i'd like to wear them in brown with a linen suit.
I have a Roadie boot in a grey suede (exact color as the suede dress shoe in this video) and it’s probably my favorite too! I think the Mortimer is really classy, as long as you personally like the buckle look. I would argue it’s the shoe I grab the most often when attending a wedding.
The dress shoes for me seem to run “true to size.” I’m mostly a 9.5 in most US sizes and I buy a 42.5 in the dress shoes. The sneakers to me feel like they run big and I mostly prefer to buy 42s but sometimes it depends on the material/style … I also do NOT have a wide foot, so if you or anyone reading this does that will play into it. With shoes this expensive, it’s obviously ideal to try them on in a store, but depending where you’re located that may not be available

As long as you like the style, I have no complaints!! I wanted something a little less plain than the typical Greggo so I went for the buckles!! If you like brown shoes, the brown leather on the mortimer is beautiful!
Heel height is 2cm, and the sole itself is about 3.5 mm … that 2cm INCLUDES the 3.5 mm sole as well. Turns out that’s the same for the Roadie Boot, the Greggo Oxford and Mortimer Double Monkstrap styles.

Martin Afghahi In my opinion, his dress shoes have all been designed for the narrow-footed guy. Do you have access to any local stores to try them on? With the price point on these shoes I’d hate to steer you to a size that doesn’t work.

tai_techandcars 2 comments I have: Because I own a few pair and don’t wear them too often, rotating when I do, I haven’t worn a pair with the protectors more than about 20 times. So far, the protectors have held up so I haven’t needed to replace them... THAT SAID, my very first pair I got too exited and put iPhone size protectors but had to use two and I didn’t like how that looked and pulled those off to replace (I have a video up showing me taking them off on camera). I was very slow and careful and it did come off successfully; but it’s not the kind of thing I would want to do on the regular, if that makes sense... I was very nervous the whole time lol. I will say, that it has overall preserved the shoes FAR LONGER than not using them at all and if one day the protector looks real nasty and I have to replace, and IF it pulls the red off then I’ll still be glad to have gotten so many wears out where they looked flawless and then I can have them resoled and start over
Wanted to clarify that I had worn out the pair with the iPhone protectors at least 5-10 times before I decided to take them off and replace! So it wasn’t putting them on and taking them off fresh, if that makes sense. And you will get some “pitting” in the sole from walking on concrete

Happy Anniversary!! In my experience, the lace up dress shoes do fit me true to size. I generally wear a 9.5 in most US shoes, and 42.5 works great for me. For my slip on dress shoe I went half a size down to a 42 to más sure they wouldn’t slip off my feet at all and that has worked great... I find their sneakers to run large on me so I always do a 42 in those as well. I would also note that I have a narrow foot (or at least NOT a wide foot) so that might effect sizing :)
Jonathan Generally a US 10 in lace up dress shoes? I’m asking because I’m generally a 9.5 in MOST men’s shoe brands and I do wear a 42.5 in Louboutin lace ups... I personally sized down a half size when I ordered a monk strap loafer and also with their sneakers (the sneakers run large to me)... So I would say true to size is probably fine! I am a bit of a skinny guy and I would classify my foot as more on the narrow side than wide, so that might effect things too. At least with the lace ups, if they end up slightly too large you have the ability to tighten the laces or add an insole. Long story short, I think this style is true to size, but at the price point these run for, I always recommend trying them on if that’s an option... but you know, pandemic and all 🤣
Well, Thank You for responding to me so fast. The reason I’ve asked is because it’s a bit confusing to me. I own Tod’s loafers and Gucci and those are UK size 8. But on the Louboutin website chart UK size 8 equals 9 US. ( I’m 10 US ) I’m looking to buy a loafers by Louboutin style Dandelion. And most likely online because of the low cost.
Jonathan EU 42 = US 9 = UK 8 for most brands but i find some brands just size very differently than others... Honestly, the only UK sized shoes I’ve ever tried on were a pair of Prada dress boots and I was fine in an 8.5 UK = 9.5 US = EU 42.5 normally, so I would say true to size. Have you looked up to see if Gucci maybe run larger than true to size? I know Louboutin’s high tops Tun large on me and I can even squeeze into a full size down in some of them compared to the dress shoes... I 100% order online, especially my go to ZooFashions.com when they run a promo but I’ll still go the mall in Houston that has a store to try things on first
100% do that!! Just be aware you should try on loafers, lace ups, low top, high top... so you get all your sizing!! Also, I’ve found suede vs leather can feel more flexible too so check all that out :)

Fashion for me is mostly style over function … I love the the red soles on these and is why I buy them … their sneakers are really unique and I get compliments on them all the time… obviously there is something for everyone, and I’m the first to admit these are overpriced dress shoes 😂

I’ll also say that I don’t typically wear brown shoes, but even I almost bought the brown because it was that gorgeous in person!
