XPeng has officially started presales for the Mona M03 at a price of 135,900 RMB (19,000 USD, 17,195 Euro). Presale prices are almost always HIGHER than the official price at launch, but we'll update here when we know more.
There are a lot of online trolls sponsored by Taiwan who looking for every opportunity to aggressively denigrate anything has anything to do with China and Chinese. This problem needs to fully addressed sooner rather than later.
It's already over for ice lagacy oems though. Just peep 2019 pre pandemic sales vs 2023 sales of ice in China from lagacy oems. Gm alone in 2019 profited over $2,000,000,000 in 2019 from ice sales in China alone. For 2024? So far they have a $200,000,000 loss On ice sales and tracking to approach half a billion in losses. 😀👍🏻
Nothing wrong with a torsion beam rear suspension if it’s tuned well. For example the Renault Megane held the hot hatch front drive production car record at the Nurburgring for many years with a torsion beam 😊
Hi! I wish that when you talk about a vehicle model you would show at least a few seconds of a picture of that model. The Chinese designations are very confusing and sometimes you don't know which model you´re talking about. I think it would be more practical if you show a picture or a short video. Thanks and great channel!
Thank you for the feedback! We try to provide context for the models we mention either through footage, or by linking to our review of the car in question. Unfortunately, it's impractical to find footage of all of the cars we mention in a video, and even if we have a review of it, it can be annoying and overwhelming to a viewer to have constant pop-ups in the top right corner that link to the video.
Xpeng are launching soon in Oz. More higher end (G6, G9). You could contact them and suggest the Mona for the lower end to compete with BYD, MG etc. However the volumes will be small in an increasingly crowded Chinese EV space so they may want to stay at top end of market.
Love the look and proposition of the car. On an unrelated note, mad props to the cinematography and street shots... mind bendingly smooth, almost thought I was watching a render
I am in Portugal and there are no plans to release the EXPENG MONA M03 any time soon if ever in the EU.. the lisbon EXPENG retailer offered me the Expeng G6 .. almost double the price of the Mona .my 2024 KIA PICANTO is managing 3.2 litre / 100km around 88 MPG.. it is still running in 1200 km from new . I want to keep the KIA PICANTO for longer journeys .. EV charging is still being developed in Portugal .
Capacitive wheels are more user friendly, but they aren't as secure as a torque sensor in my opinion. Torque sensors can be tricked via the old water bottle trick, or whatever insane device they're selling on Amazon these days to trick FSD, but that's why you also need an eye line monitoring camera to make sure the driver is looking ahead at all times.
That's the Ningbo International Conference Center, and it's easily one of the most beautiful shooting locations we've ever been provided by a manufacturer during a press launch event. It also had a ton of space to shoot, and you rarely get both great views and great space.
The client in the Chinese market is so much bolder. We don’t even have these interior colors options in America. Even if we did, you’re looking at $70,000 +. I love how their EV’s are a complete departure from the conventional styling we’re used to here in the U.S.
They might want to add physical buttons for HVAC, windows and audio controls if they want a 5 star Euro-NCap rating, as this will (AFAIK) become mandatory for a 5 star rating in 2026.
Definitely a brilliant EV in terms of its power and beautiful exterior design! In the video it did not point out that XPENG has hired the world-renowned car designer JuanMa Lopez who was the former head of exterior design of Ferrari and Lamborghini as their (XPENG) Vice President of Design Center. MONA 03 is JuanMa’s first car designed for XPENG which is astonishing comparing to XPENG previous EV models.
Electric cars have evolved greatly both in performance and affordability but same can't be said about electric motorcycles. Hope BYD like established ev brands focus in this department. An EV motorcycle with 500-600 km of range with a price tag around 8k US dollars would have been awesome. I own KTM 390 which gives only 21 kmpl mileage , if I have to cover 1k km distance then the expenditure on fuel is a lot, That's why I want a capable ev motorcycle to hit the market with affordable pricing. Petrol price is skyrocketing 😢
Battery limitation, you need at least 2.5 kwh for each 100km so you are asking 12.5 - 15kwh battery while PHEV and Mini EV have something around 8 kwh.
@subasthapa8323 Drag is too high to make the EV equation work at highway speeds for non streamlined motorcycles. A motogp rider tucked behind the fairing has a drag coefficient of 0.4. Twice that of the Mona 03. A rider on a normal bike would be twice as draggy again. Chinese cities have millions of electric mopeds and scooters. At city speeds aerodynamic drag is not an issue.
This car’s price would put it in the range of Toyota Corolla size with a bit more power. The cargo capacity is really good however, it seems that design has a huge cover for the hatch hinges, that intrudes on rear head space. A lot of EVs are getting rid of physical controls and putting everything in the center screen, how is that faring in China?
It's pretty much mainstream here in China and has been so for the past few years, but it was mostly on cars that cost significantly more than this one.
I really like this car. I have a chevy bolt 2023 ev. This car is way more Superior to its technology and build quality in the interior. Even the car design looks way better and it's more like a sedan, which I prefer.
I think from quite a few angles this is a very nice looking car. That torsion bar rear suspension shouldn't put people off. It'll be relatively light, reliable, effective and comfortable when soaking up the bumps. Yes, don't go track testing it, but then again not every car has to have magnificent handling. No doubt this one will be OK, if not super precise. What do you want for peanuts?
I don't have any specific information, but it will really depend on the success of the brand here in the Chinese market. If it's a hit, they will be much more likely to take it to other markets.
Nice enough front but fugly rear. Interior pretty basic and cheap looking. Only big centre screen and no HUD also screams cost-cutting. Can see where costs were cut to keep price cheap. Does kinda look like a Taxi in the interior.
I like this. If they make a RHD version and if my country imports and if the importer doesn't jack up the price too much I might get one. A lot of ifs, I know but..

It may not be the best looking car in the world but for sure it is the best looking car for under 20,000 USD ever made If your budget is 20 grand this is the only car for you .
impressive drag coefficient! Design aesthetics are also decent compared to the soap smooth lines. Very interesting if the will come to Europe at a competive price!

Would you consider it to be a good EV for those who has never driven an EV before and may consider to try EVs. This looks actually very nice
Didn't mention that the design has been created with the help of AI - thus the M03 has 15 low-drag elements in total - which lead to just 0.194Cd.
Preorders seem to have exceeded expectations by 2-3 times.
13:15 the map is impressive
