    While a lot of people are pointing out Grant's devastating ankle injury, don't forget Scottie's back injury.
    I like how the video pointed out Grant was like 1994 Pippen, because 1997+ Pippen was definitely limited by that back injury.
    It is a fun comparison to make because while the numbers are similar and they played the same position, their games were quite different. Scottie had more range, Grant had a better faceup/triple threat game. Grant definitely was a better offensive player while Scottie was the better defender. Peak Pippen against peak Grant Hill wouldve been a really fun 1 on 1 game to see.

    he would go down as one of the best forwards in NBA history. Improved his shot after he got to
    the League. Could jump out of gym before he got hurt, handled the ball like a guard, excellent passer, and could get to the hoop and finish at will. Played on some terrible
    Piston teams, so his talent was sort of hidden from the national media and

    Grant Hill had such a polished game, and I don't think any other small forwards had his speed and dribbling skills - he possessed a kind of face-up, new-age crossover, somewhat similar to Tim Hardaway with a lighting first-step. Nobody was breaking people down in 1v1 situations like G Hill at that size. He also had an extremely rounded game, and back then, it was another rarity to see players flirting with a triple double every night; I think J-Kidd and possibly Pippen and Hakeem might have been filling the stat sheet in 3 (or more) categories like Hill during that time, and Fat Lever before then. He's one of my favorites, however I gotta say, just going off primes, I like Pippen's ceiling to Hill's, as Pippen's defensive ability was better than solid; it was best-in-NBA, all-defense type skill that could win games.
    G-Hill, like Penny may have shown proof of greater skills, but lacked the durability. And sadly, because of this fact, "who's the best" talk with often-injured players is just 100% speculation. I'd go as far to say durability, in reality, is a part of a bigger picture to what makes players "great". No use being great on the bench with your crutches near by, eating up into the pay-roll.

    Prime Pippen's numbers were roughly the same as pre-injury Hill. Hill was a little better in ppg, assists, and rebounds but only slightly on average if you compare their respective best years. Pippen was consistently a step better than Hill in steals and blocks. So I say roughly the same, numbers-wise. If Hill hadn't gotten injured and if he had gotten some help in Detroit, he would have surpassed Pippen's legacy.

    Grant Hill , Vince Carter, T Mac, D Rose. They all played basket ball with tremendous skill and explosive play skill that requires strong physical body. Maybe if they play smart and avoid injuries through their carrier, it would been positive results like a ring or two.

    Yo bro, I've been watching pro basketball since the 90s ...well I haven't watched for a decade and a half since the game is in ruins imo, but you should do a lil segment on Baron Davis.
    That dude was as cold as any player recently inducted into the hof, all those stars ,Garnett , Mcgrady, Iverson...but man ,I can't remember ANYONE as just...kiiller . He s as good a point guard as you could ask for ,he'll he's a legend in the league I used to watch. After considering It i think more highly of B. D. than really any other player in the 2000s with the exception of maybe Dirk or Paul Pierce ...i know it's basketball time machine and were set in the 90s ,but c'mon man ..he was drafted in the late 90s like all those other pseudo recently inducted hof'ers. I'm telling you man ,Baron Davis ,was a lock

    He dont need to use too much energy and fancy crossover like kyrie ervin does. He only fake with one step then get easily cross defender to the rim. He got the most efficient cross over.

      Hill was a better scorer than Pippen plus he can facilitate too lil fella.
      Injuries derailed Hill career lil fella. Hill get triple doubles lil fella lol. Nice try though lil fella lol.

    • @williamkoscielniak7871
      @williamkoscielniak7871 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@g24deez Pippen was a historically terrible foul call away from leading the Bulls past the Knicks and most likely getting to the NBA finals without MJ, and then the next year he became the third or fourth player in NBA history to lead his team in every major statistical category. He also happened to be a top two scorer, top two defender, top two rebounder, and top two facilitator on six goddamned championship teams. He could score 5 points and be the best damned player on the court. Pip was remarkable.

    • @lamontewilliams203

    • @g24deez
      @g24deez ปีที่แล้ว

      @williamkoscielniak7871 Pippen was not a phantom foul call away from likely getting to the Finals lil fella.
      The call happened in game five also Pippen still had 2.1 seconds left to make a play but Pippen wasn't built like that lil fella lol. Pippen had game six and seven to win and Pippen won game six and came up short in game seven lil fella. Again Pippen wasn't built like that lil fella, he wasn't clutch enough lil fella.
      U boasting about Pippen stats but it didn't win Pippen nothing lil fella lol!!! His league leading statistical categories led Pippen to beg Jordan to come back in 95 lil fella.
      U say Pippen can score 5 points and be effected lol. Pippen scored 2 points in the 90 ECF and it didn't translate to winning lil fella. Pippen scored 12 points in the 00 WCF and it didn't translate to winning lil fella. Pippen can score 5 points because he had a true scorer to take the slack away lil fella lol.
      Nice try though lil fella lol. Go study up fella because when u REACH I TEACH lil fella lol

    Grant Hill was a Talent, similar to Scottie Pippen in Height Build and Playing style - there where some games where G. Hill was getting the best of Pippen back then, but a lot of that had to due with the politics of Marketing/promoting the new Star. I miss those days of good strong basketball! 5:37 Video flash stats Hill 23Pts -7/16FGs - 8Reb Vs Pippen 20Pts - 5/8FGs - 6Rbs to me Pippen Had the better game more effective for his team with less attempts. Hill would flirt with Triple Doubles every night though and lets not forget both Hill & Kidd was CO-Rookie of The Year! That Last Clip of the Both of them Talking say it All...
