Hey Ryan, just want to let you know that I´ve learn´t so much from you during the past few years since I found your channel.
I´ve used TH-cam before for finding info, details about products, and so on, but your videos are the first I started watching for pure entertainment.
    I was hooked!
I watched over hour-long videos about a man on his bike struggling through mountains, forests, and cities, celebrating the journey and having amazing heartfelt encounters with humans, while talking to the camera, and sharing his love and passion for life.
And so I learned about life. About positive attitude, how to deal with hardships, and how to enjoy the good moments. How to strive and be a better person.
But I "went away" for a while.
By some coincidence, I got interested (an understatement) in cameras, photography, videography, and making videos myself.
So I started watching filmmaking channels, and tutorials, practicing and carving a way into that. That made me appreciate your skills as a videographer, filmmaker and content creator.
And so I learned so much about filming, editing and hard work from you.
Finally, I also got the bikepacking/adventuring bug bite from your videos.
Kind of strange that it took this long but I think its severe. Its a good thing theres no better place to learn about that too, than your channel and your videos.
So, having this much benefit from you and your channel:
You have taught me about life, how to be a better person, about filmmaking and videography, about bikepacking, and a whole new way of life while providing countless hours of joy and entertainment in some dark times.
There was only one possible thing for me to do, besides writing this book about it. (I´m really impressed if someone makes it this far)
I had to join your Patreon. there was really no other logical, moral or any other choice. (Only a small amount cause I´m so poor at the moment)
And I still feel like I owe you.
I think this is the case for many other viewers of the channel and this video.
So lets support Ryan. I have never seen a TH-cam creator that gives away this much income and opportunity to help others. He´s the real deal.
Hope you see this and hope it makes you see the impact and importance you had and have on people´s lives near and far.
So from the bottom of my heart:
Thank you for making these videos and being who you are.
And If you ever come to Finland you have a place to stay. 🤝

Totally second the above comments. Been watching your biketouring videos for a few years now Ryan, and they have been massively motivational for me. About time I paid it back, so have finally patreoned (is that a word?🤣)! I am now planning bikepacking trips here in Australia on regular basis, solo and with my bike buddy Judee. Plus about to start videoing my adventures, mainly as a record for me, but also hopefully to motivate others in our age group to get off their couchs and get out there! (I am 63 and my crazy bike buddy just turned 70). Ride on!

I am almost 81 and plan cycling or hiking adventures all the time. They might be just day rides on rails to trails but they are exciting as I never know who or what I will see. Life is an adventure.

I’m so sorry it didn’t work out for you and Amelia. It saddens me because I only want to see joy in your life. I don’t know you personally but you are one of my favorite people in the world. Not because you are a great storyteller. Not because you put out the best bike packing content on TH-cam. Not because you are a great ambassador for the biking community. It is because you are such a nice and kind person. In a world where there is too many mean people you are a shining star guiding people through the darkness to a place of light. You show them that kindness can bring so much joy to themselves and others. That through kindness each and every one of us can make this world a better place.
May God always bless you in all ways!

Wow I did not see the Amelia break up thing coming after the "I'm getting old" discussion. You have to do what feels right for you, but love is not easy to find. Not many women could or would be able to keep up with you man. You have to do you, so I hope there are no regrets laying around. We are a planet filled with flawed stories all trying to find our way through whatever this reality is. I hope the Ryan Van Duzer story is one that your heart wants, and it brings you the most joy. Joy and excitement about what we are doing is the sweet spot to an incredible life.

Ryan, you can go on until you can’t! It will get harder and your journeys may have to get shorter, but they will still be journeys. The questions you’re dealing with are par for the course in your 40s. IMHO if you accept and document your LIFE journey, everything that comes with that, and what that looks like, you’ll have a channel rewarding to yourself and your viewers. I’ll clue you in on a secret: your viewers aren’t watching your trips, they’re watching YOU.

Post scriptum: Amelie is very special. To you and to all....

Ryan, there is a Dutch cycle traveler, Frank van Rijn. He wrote 14 published books about all his cycling travels around the world. He cycled more than 500,000 kilometres. He cycled all the continents accept for Antartica because he doesn't like cold weather. He still cycles today and he was born in 1948. Today I cycled in Belgium and met a young girl in her twenties who only spoke her own language, French. No English, no German, no Dutch. Crazy, because half of Belgium speaks Dutch. You have a talent for languages and making connection to people. Go travel in Asia, Africa, more in Europe (Norway is so much more beautiful than boring Sweden, which has only pine trees and lakes). World traveler Alee Denham from Australia also mentioned that gear videos have so much more viewers than the beautiful movies he makes about his journeys. But Ryan, I'm thankful that you are a special one, that doesn't tell us Don't Take This On A Bike Trip or Ten Things I Wish I etc. sponsored clickbate shit. I've watched your videos for many years. Just recently I realised that you are not just fun to watch but also that you are crazy good at what you are doing. Your camera work, your sound recording and story telling, not many people can do that so good. You can still do this in your seventies if you want and have luck with staying healthy.

Thank you for sharing and keeping it real and trusting us with your feelings. The 'down' times make the good times even sweeter.
Here's a couple ideas to switch up your videos.
    1. Do a destination video. Create a loop route from your home to Breckenridge and Victor to see the Dambo Trolls. Here in the PNW we have 6 of them. They are amazing.
    2. Your videos with Mira are successful. Try a couple other biking TH-cam collaborations. My vote would be Josh of 'Keep Smiling Adventures' in the UK. He is minimalist ( no stove, no sleep mat ) He does some fabulous routes in Scotland.
We (your fans) will support you in whatever endeavors you do.
    Cheers 🌞🚴‍♀️🖖

Oh no, when I saw the title of this episode I felt this kittle "knot" in my belly. Ryan's been thinking. But I did not see the announcement of you and Amelia breaking up coming. I was so happy for you guys getting together, she seemed like just the right kind of lady for you. From the outside, of course. Really sad that it didn't work out. But there is no point in looking backwards for too long, we're not going that way. Watcing your videos for the last few years has left me an impression you always land on your feet and figure things out when things get less than easy. I don't see that changing. No matter what you choose to do, by the fabric of who you are, you are always going to be an inspiration. Happy pedals and looking forward to the next one 🙂

Hi Ryan, in regard to the lower TH-cam views, I run 2 TH-cam channels and have seen much lower views on the channels since roughly April/may 2023. It’s across the platform and is something a lot of creators are suffering with. I know several creators with millions of subs that get fewer views that new TH-camrs are getting. All I can say is that it is not you or your content causing this, it seems to be that the social media algorithm is pushing drama as that brings higher views and more ad revenue. Keep going, I love your content and appreciate the work you’re putting into the videos 👍

Hi Ryan.. I went into a 10 day coma at 13 months old. Wasn't predicted to live past 15.. No rime or reason that i'm still here at age 59.. I ride my recumbent trike 30-50 miles a day (when it's dry.. LOL). I talked to my 92 yo grandma when i was just 35yo.. I asked her what is it like to be 92.. she responded with, "well, there are always new folks to talk with, but i miss my friends from my youth. Those are the people who keep my recollections and stories consistent. when i tell a story today, I don't know if i left out an important detail.. No one there to say.. "hey... No you got that wrong.. here is what really happened." She was telling me that she had outlived all the friends from her childhood and past. Then it hit me.. at 35, i fully understood her on an intimate level.. all of my friends from 18 to 40 had died for one reason or another. I never thought i would relate to her on that deep level.
May i suggest that you keep a journal.. a very detailed story of the people you meet and what similarities you find. Turn that into a book. Similarities are what bring us all together. The stories cause us to remember and hope for even better.. And hopefully we know have experience and learned lessons to build on.
I gave my grandma a 300 page blank journal that day. I asked her to right down memories of her youth.. I came back a couple days later to see her again to find, she had filled those 300 pages on the fist day.. I learned things about how she and my grandpa met, fell in love at first sight. He was 17 she was 15.. they got married the next month, and spent the next 70 years together. They fell in and out of love about 7 times. but each time it was a deeper love. She said, "people today, experience disillusion and grow apart. then throw in the towel before working through it (even when you can't stand being around each other.). He was 95 when he died she was 95 when she died. Still in love.. they met in the Steins mountains where her father had the trading post and post office. I hope to ride there someday to see the place where they met. :). Ride safely my friend. may the wind always be at your back and may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Rob PDX

Hey Ryan, I watch to see you out enjoying nature and the local culture in places I may never visit. You don’t have to go hard to do that, and I’ll still be watching in the future.

Pondering the pathway life brings that we haven't traveled yet and our temporal time here is a blessing Ryan. Thank you for being vulnerable here- this my friend takes courage to do. Maybe you will soon be raising your own family.. Maybe a little Ryan heading out with dad on his 1st Ragbri is in the future! I can also see you as a spokesperson for bicycle travel/ safety advocacy for many years to come! Life can and does take us on different paths- you are fluid and will succeed where it leads! I'm 60 now and have signed up for some "casual rides" in a local meetup group. I can't do what I used to and that is okay- "it's good for a man to know his limitations" Riding is your passion, you'll be at it for many years to come! Stay safe!

From Oz … Ryan, thank you for opening up… it’s good to reflect but better to develop and implement a plan for a sustainable, fulfilling life. Your reflections in this video sound like the beginning of goodbye? Down here, for me, 78 years old, the new Priority 600X has arrived and is being equipped for adventures. Can I do it - ‘it’ being a return to tenting and self-supported trips without motels, showers and restaurants? We’ll see in coming months as I work toward the Mundabiddi ride in Western Australia. Look it up! Thank you. Ian
