Get your magical Olè socks here! point6.com/products/duzer-x-bikepacking-roots-extra-light-crew
Shirt?!?!
I got the socks. They're really nice!
Is there a way to get those socks to Europe (France in my case) cheaper? Shipping is 70 € unfortunately :( Same for your book, which I am eager to read. I know it's mainly outside of your control, no worries! Olé olé olé olééééé
Thank you Ryan, you give so much. Last video of yours I watched, you said (as usual) "get out of your couch and get out there". There. I paused the video, closed the laptop, got my cycling short, took a water bottle, and went on a ride. It was a great afternoon, discovered new beautiful bike trails.
This was a magical ride Ryan. I loved the edits and talks, and people, and wow, and cows. Great ride!
Dooooozrr !!! Love you, buddy. Gonna go out west again and bikepack thanks to you. You changed my life... thanks
The travel adventure seeing places we will never go , the creeks and mountains are beautiful, thank you for us living through you, I always look forward to your videos of life , thank you
Hey Ryan. Pushing through sand is a lot like life, there is a beach side resort on the other side. Not be cliche, but for every door that closes, with the right attitude, there are many more to walk through. I suspect many of your followers, like me, follow you because of who you are, positive, respectful, fun to mention a few. I will follow you where ever you take your channel! Having said that, I am waiting to pick up my new Priority 600X, can’t wait. So for now, I hope you do bike packing adventures for a little longer!
@ 21:35 Ryan.. even the simplest vid of “day in the life of Duzer” will keep us engaged! ❤
Hi Ryan, thank you for your videos! I've seen all of your bike packing episodes and most of the others as well. I've been a cycling fanatic for nearly 40 years, but I could not do sand with your patience and composure! My favorite video is your Continental Divide video. What I truly appreciate about all of your videos is the peacefulness and joy you bring to being alone in the wilderness. That peacefulness and joy shines through as love for the world, especially as you meet people along the way. Thank you for being such a great ambassador for American cyclists, and especially thank you for sharing that peacefulness with us while much of the rest of the world seems to be going crazy .
All the best! JHTcycles
Ryan although thousands of miles away here in the UK I can still see your pain, although your making a good show of trying to hide it with an entertaining video. We both know that gradually your pain will ease especially given all of the love us fans are sending you. Over here we gradually moving into Spring which apart from it getting warmer will also mean longer days with more sunlight. Every year someone suggests not turning the clock back or forward but its never happened yet and the long dark nights are a real pain. Although having said that I went out on my bike this morning at 5am when it was dark and cold but wrapped up it felt good with no one else being about. I guess its that mindfulness you mentioned. Keep those pedals turning.
Your efforts to conquer the sand are hilarious
I know you work so hard on this , but its so relaxing to watch
14:20 "no use in breaking my bike or my body when you're far away from home" I know what you meant but giggled at the thought that it might make sense to break our body if we're close to home lol :D but i know what you meant by that!
I always look forward to your adventure videos Ryan💙I watch you on a 77in Oled TV with all the lights off. The picture and sound quality of your videos is excellent. Even though it's a cold winter where I am, I can immerse myself and see what you see. I can only imagine what the sun feels like, while listening to the soundscapes you pick up beautifully. I also love your little life advice you share in every video. You are a wonderful human being sir. An inspiration. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Be safe and have fun😁
Necesitamos más gente como tu en este planeta Ryan
Ryan…you’re mean! Lol… sitting here in an office with no windows on Monday morning trying to stay positive in a job I dislike and you say “it’s Monday, at least I’m out here and not sitting in a chair in an office”. Haha. Love Baja.
My husband’s birthday is coming soon, so I ordered him a Duzer tshirt. Thanks Ryan Van Duzer, I’ll love seeing him wear this in our bike trip in PEI this summer. And what a great cause! Bummer that there were no large in the womens’. Next time though…
Oh fun!! I hope that he loves it!! We’ll make more shirts in the future…and we’ll get your size. Cheers
Power line trails exist so construction equipment can maintain the lines. They can be found in crazy remote mountainous locations all over BC. They're typically mostly unrideable due to no smooth surface gravel and grades too steep to drive on but you can usually hike a bike on them to reach some really unbelievable places in the coastal wilderness.
That’s interesting!!
Can confirm!! The socks are AMAZING!! Payday needs to get here, I’m getting 5 more pairs!
I always sit down and rest on Sunday and your videos are the first one that I watch. You have inspired me to get back on my bike. i was in a accident on my bike and my husband really did not want me on my bike anymore. It was a bad accident and I do not remember much, but he does, but I have been switching from road biking to more grave riding. We have a lot a creek trails in my town (ones that are not covered with homeless). I plan on riding my bike as much as possible. Your trails in Colorado are amazing and wish my town had those trails. I do have a question. I noticed that you are alot fitter then most bike riders. Do you also do a weight lifting training and get so many muscles on a plant based diet. I would like to know your secret. Most plant base athlete are very skinning, Thank you and I am very sorry that I missed you in Mill Valley, CA. Maybe next time.
Thanks for sharing your trip Ryan! I really enjoy all of your videos. I think the ones that are the most compelling are those that feature other people (or dogs). It seems like a lot of people are catching up to where you are with the beautiful video footage.
Your personality goes a long way to separate you from the other bikepacking youtubers, but it really shines when the videos have a cast of regulars with their own personalities too!
I was thinking about all the things you said in your last video and I hadn't really realized yet how much of a (positive!) influence you've had in my life. So I've finally joined your Patreon. Hope you can keep living your dream!
Ryan, overcoming obstacles makes us better people. Amazing ......you will make it! Forza!
I'm on a binge catch up here 🤣 11 more vids to go today 🎉 Ryan can certainly graft through these rides 👍
Wow, you found a really beautiful and peaceful campsite!🤩👌 Your old videos are so cute!😄
Thanks for the great video Ryan! My amazing fiance just ordered me the Team Duzer shirt for Valentine's Day! Ole!
If you had some nice 4.5 inch wide tires you'd be cruisin! I put 3 inch wide tires on my 600X and it helps but I still don't think it's wide enough for all that sand. I found a bike shop out of Maine named Carver Bikes that will make you a titanium fatbike with the pinion and gates drivetrain. I can't help but dream about that one even if it is super expensive. I bet it would be worth it. Great video and thank you for sharing!
Being a fat bike rider I agree! But living in Boulder with all the rocks I like the 3.0 best. Having multiple bikes In this hobby helps too!
N+1 for sure lol@@jamesantolik5734
Do you have all those public access shows on video? That would be interesting to watch.
The day just got a little more beautiful! Thank you so much for everything Duzer! Big love yaway
No one does Adventure Ebike travels of 500 -1000 mile treks anymore . it would be nice too see you pick up the mantle . it would be nice to see the pit falls of solar charging in the bush !!!😊
Love it Ryan!! Need some "Get Out There Decals" decals
Sad to hear about your breakup. Love watching your videos!!!
Ryan, the footage on this one is awesome. I'm a little late to the party this time....I'm only now starting this series (4 episodes you already posted.) As usual, you never disappoint. Cheers, bruh.
Welcome aboard! I truly loved my experience in Baja and I’m glad that you’re enjoying it
Your positivity is an inspiration! You should check out the Seattle to Portland (STP) this summer. It's a lovely event
Hey Ryan. I was watching other content creators on TH-cam that also have some sort of adventure trail or road or motorcycle travel videos. I started noticing that the people I go back to the most include a spectrum of interviews and challenges but also some educational commentary of the historical, geological, and anthropological significance of the places they are traveling through. I know your content is mostly your challenges and people in cool places, but I want to know more about where you are and what makes it cool.
Thanks for years of vids.
Another great series! As someone who has never been bikepacking, or on a proper tour for that matter, I have so many questions when I watch your vids. Among them, how do you not sleep with one eye open when touring in Mexico? Or the Coachella valley in CA for that matter. Muchas Gracias!
Soothing as always. Love the old school "get out there" montage at the end!
So, Ryan, do you see many snakes out there? Don't envy you struggling thru the sand, but I do admire your perseverance, always with an upbeat attitude.
Thank you again, Ryan. Another great video. Your adventures are truly inspirational !!
I know what you've said about not bringing a fatbike for your adventures in Baja befoe, and your reasons make a lot of sense in general. For me though, IF I ever get the chance to do Baja, there would be no way I'd go without a fatbike. I believe it would offer the best chance to stay on top of the sand. Pedaling. 4.5" or 4.8" wide tires on low pressure would make all the difference 🙂
I was going to ask about using fat bike also. It would make a huge difference in sand, at the expensive of being a little slower and less efficient on harder surfaces. I guess it depends on the ratio of sand to hard surfaces.
@@MusicByJC Yeah, for sure, that ratio is key. Another valid point is maintenance. If you're riding with a fairly standardized setup and something breaks or need fixing, especially with regards to the wheels, then it might not be that easy to get access to fatbike specific replacement parts as it would be with standard setups. Bikepacking requires us to be concious about these things so we can make informed decisions. I realize it sounds like I just contradicting what I said in my first post, but for me, as a heavier rider than Mr Duzer, I would go for fatbike in Baja. I would sink in much more than he did in 2017, becoming even more enraged 😅 I don't want that for myself 😄
So jealous of those conditions … thick mud in the UK on my ride this weekend … and cold too ! I love that bike … dream machine …
Great video Ryan, no better feeling than washing off the grime and suncream at the end of the day and feeling fresh again.
great video as usual i am going to order the shirt keep up the great motivational work thnx for doing what you do.
You are keeping life in perspective.
"Trying to find the path of least resistance. It's mostly just resistance out here." 😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing this with us. So cool.
Another great adventure. Tough going at times but still Epic, Ryan.
Thanks for taking us along.🎉
Great adventure.
Thanks.
Thanks for the video. Made my day.
so happy to see your camping location! Dream!!!
5:06... you nailed it! Thanks and have a great time!
Cool T ordered. Thanks for the great content and sharing your ever evolving life story Ryan. Get out there!
I’m inspired! Thanks Ryan!
Thank you for the pretty videos
❤ you duzer I started riding after watching your channel not nothing what you do none the less I enjoy my rides 👍
Love your videos Ryan
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
Great Thumbnail, I love it!
Ryan Van Biker. ❤ bless up 🇯🇲
Good stuff young man, good stuff.
Stay focused.🌴🇺🇸👍✌
Please come to India/Nepal for your next bikepacking adventure I bet you will not regret it.
Due to nature and how our body functions, some of those beans will get left behind 😊
Viva frijoles delicioso !
😂😂😂
Ugh! The sand…… Love the old Duzer clips at the end!!!
Hi Ryan. I've bought me the same powerbank from Anker, thanks to your recommendation in Sweden trip. I have to say, it's awesome, always surprises me, how long it can hold.
What a great OLE. I'm jealous
I thought it to dangerous camping in river beds. Even if it looks dry, a big cloudburst further up north that you don't even notice can wash you and your tent away. Maybe that is what happened to those bikepickers too, which bones you found ;-).
Powerline roads are for maintenance purposes for the cables and towers.
I love these adventure videos but I understand about getting older! I'm 64 and noticing that it's a little more difficult to do 11 day 300 mile rides through gravel. But I'm willing to BET when you decide to go electric you will be able to continue as always.... I yet have not made the leap...but probably by the time I'm 70 I will have to!
Love your videos and adventures ! Will your bike accommodate larger (3"+) tires? I've ridden some of the Divide and it is a huge help but you have a GREAT attitude. Keep it up !
You need to attach a leash to your bike Ryan, when taking it for walkies😂Baja is truly spectacular👌Keep doing what you love doing buddy and I will be here to enjoy it👍
Hey Ryan, I really appreciate your videos. You introduced me to the Baja Divide and now we host riders here in Bahia Asuncion. We're a bit off the official route but well worth the detour. Have you considered doing any trail races in Baja? I highly suggest giving one a try. Hit me up if you want some ideas! Thanks again for your positive thoughts and inspiration
Putting in an order for the 'Team Duzer' t-shirt and Olè socks 🙂- could you let us know what size of t-shirt you are wearing in the video as measurements between small and medium thanks! Long time followers, the comment below says it all, you are a wonderful human thank you for the videos.
That road north out of SJdC has no shoulder but there is a dirt frontage road parallel to it. That's what I rode to avoid the power line section. FYI
Very interesting and exciting video you have made on your Baja Divide Cafe Loop ES 3.Create more attractive merchandise in your online selling.
As a dedicated AT hiker it’s not about getting to the destination, as you know. I try to remind myself when going over another PUD.
Bro I’m just glad to see you actually get to ride the bike for a few revolutions of the wheel lol sand glorious sand how we love to bike you NOT! But try some Toledo mud trails for a true test Bike life !!!!!!
You need the Thinking Tree on the shirt. :)
When you look at all the times that you have been on super sandy trails, have you ever considered a fat tire or plus tire hardtail? As for adventures, I have been further inspired by your videos since I started watching them. I rode 10 solo centuries last year plus many more sub- 100 mile rides. I work M-F but in So Cal I have long days so I fit in short weekday rides. This weekend I did my century and a 60 mile ride. Ride4life is my Strava and I may not do bike packing but I hope to ride some of those places you share. I have been riding in the Philippines and planning on Vietnam next.
😊
Wow!! You’re getting in some big mileage. Way to go!!!
@@duzer you inspire me! Thank you for sharing your adventures!
The master of understatement... "Pushed through some sand..." Your original videos must be like looking at your teenage son...
Love your vlogs as always. Nice to be along for another adventure. But I need to ask some gear questionez. Did not realize you wore a chamois. Have you always? And why back using a Klymit sleeping pad? Uberlite gone?
I know you're probably already done with this adventure as of today since you're now editing and releasing the videos, but perhaps next time you're struggling to get started in the thicker sand, maybe carve out 10 feet of so in the sand of distance in front of your front wheel so it gives you a teeny bit of space to get your momentum before hitting the thick sand?
❤
35 miles In Baja like a century on US roads
So true!
We took the Highway, which has a dirt road next to it for most of it.
I’m curious about that UV water purifier. Would you trust it on trails outside of America’s major metro cities? I use a Sawyer and my bestie bike travel buddy uses an MSR pump filter.
We just say him using it to treat water outside of the city! BTW: why would you use a water filter inside a city?
🤗
New subscriber, loving your content Ryan. My wife and I got married down near Los Barriles last spring (east cape is magic). Bit of a lame question, but curious what saddle + shammy combo you are rocking? I’ve been trying to solve saddle soreness for years and am always curious what other folks are doing. Thanks!
Welcome to my channel! Thanks for subscribing. My saddle is the WTB Pure, it works great for me, but saddles are like shoes, they fit everyone differently. My shirts and chamois are made by ElevenPine, called the Uprising. Hope that helps
@@duzer thank you mucho!
Did you trying airing down the pressure in your tires? My cross bike can only handle 38s and airing them down at least keeps me moving….mostly, in sand. Just a thought.
Continue this. Just add more places outside the US like south America … argentina, peru ….
انت ملهم وصادق وبطل
Q: How many cows have pooped in that water? A: A lot. 😂
i love you
In 20 short years you will be 65 years old. A old man.
I wonder if there is lard in those beans.
What tent is that? Anody know?
Nemo Equipment is the brand.
Sometimes i wonder why God has us doing certain things 😅but i get to see the beauty without as much work 😊
Ryan, is there a story to why you pack an electric razor to shave on a bike packing trip?
I'm saddened to hear things didn't work out with Emilia I really thought she was your swan.
I did too, for awhile…but we’re still friends, which is great
7:44 Note that people who have made routes which you are following are not always correct.
Ryan...wandering why you dont use a fat tire MTB? wouldnt it be easier to ride the sand with a fat tire bike?
It would indeed be nicer in the sand, but much slower for everything else.
Has Amelia called yet? Have you considered being the Nutella spokesperson? If you wear a dress they will have to hire you. And why not develop a new tire or type of tire for sand? Have fun riding.
I talk to Amelia pretty frequently, we’re still friends
Careful there is a bear near to you, or other animals can kill you. Be careful. Great video keep up
