I've been thinking about moving to Zurich for a long time now, and this vid definitely helped me convince myself. Thanks Honeypot for always sharing HQ content ⭐⭐⭐
As someone who lives here and works in tech, it's nice to see some content created around Zurich as a tech & dev hub! Thanks for doing that :) I may be biased but you should definitely move here if you have the chance.
@@mohammad-afifhaounji6415 I think generally not, there are quite a few of these events already in Zurich. I suppose I could always be tempted if the topics were really interesting?
As a local developer in Zürich it was really nice to see a small documentation about the community and spirit here. If you can you should definitely move here 😅
I've family living in Berne, but as a developer from a 3rd Country is kinda hard to move without the permission, and not many companies are willing to help with that. man but I love Switzerland, I go every year.
Hey Emanuele, this is what Marius replied in another comment: "Yes, English is enough to work in Zürich. Many jobs in software engineering can be done with English only. I would still recommend once coming here to learn German. It helps to integrate with the local community, although many expats simply go by with English only." Hope this is useful :)
Hi, I actually lived in Italy before moving to Switzerland for roughly 11 years. There in Milan I studied computer science, and had had my first jobs in the field (worked in consulting and then with 2 startups, last one was based in San Francisco). I moved to Switzerland after I've found a job, as one of first employees at a small and young startup, as a lead software engineer. Back then I had ~4 years of work experience. The websites I looked for a job in Zürich where Indeed, LinkedIn and Jobs.ch, this was back in 2015.
@marius - What are you work hours in the day. I saw you said you go to work at 7:45-8 but was this a standard work day? What about lunch break and end of day? Thanks!
Hi. My usual work day starts around 8:30-8:45, either working from home or at the office (usually going there twice a week). If it’s good weather I bike to the office :-). I personally like a longer lunch break, on average 1,5 hours, which accommodates for doing sports (running), practicing some piano or cooking when working from home. At the office I get to socialize more with my colleagues or have a longer lunch occasionally with a friend. I usually end my work day between 18:00-18:30. It happens sometimes to work later, but at most once a week. Working 80%, I have a budget of days I can take during the year, and I usually take Fridays off and have a longer weekend.
my experience with honeypot was very interesting. I was invited to join a meeting with my "Talent Success Advisor (TSA)" but my TSA never joined the meeting, it was supposed to take place on google meet. When, I wrote to TSA that I am waiting. My "dear" TSA replied with "It looks like the calendar from our side did some mess and didn't notify me of our meeting!" haha how professional!
@@Honeypotio no, there were some shuffling of dates from both sides and when we finally agreed to a date then that happened. After that i unsubscribed.

Zurich is such a beautiful city! It makes me want to move there!! Great video
in Switzerland no one wants to be there, cos the city is "too big" xD

@@LucieCodourey In zurich you should definitely speak German or English. Depending on where you want to work but German isn't required.

Buna. Care au fost pasii pe care i ai urmat cand te ai mutat in Elvetia? Eu si iubitul meu vrem sa ne mutam acolo in 2-3 ani ca si programatori.

Hello, how can I get a job in Zurich as a developer?
Hi Peter, you’re welcome to sign up to honeypot.io and we’ll do our best to help you. 😌
I hear people want you to look super formal at work and I'm not really interested in the idea of having to use a suit for every meeting i ever have
I challenge Honeypot to get me hired in a Swiss tech firm.
Serbia? Writen on map as Kosovo?
What kind of disrespect towards the nation, simply unacceptable!
$h1t, that's completely our fault for not noticing it :( we blurred it out, thank you for letting us know
😀😀😀😀
Watch Steins Gate, you will like the piano there
9:38 I don't see how is that downside, less people less traffic, and there is still enough people to make friends
where can i contact you?? i wish to have a small talk with you
You can contact Marius on his LinkedIn (link in description) :)
