I mainly listen to rock and metal but Yussef is in my top 3 drummers. Also always love the people yussef plays with. You should definitely check out more of his stuff.
Yussef is a top tier drummer, you def should listen his last album "Black Classical Music" god is 10/10. he as in his you tube channel live content too, bro it is majestic!!
"Raisins in the Sun" is smooth as hell. The performance @ Joshua tree made the song sound happy to me, but the album version hit me more emotionally with fewer notes played on the horn during the chorus 💯
Let me tell you I saw him live when he came to the states and that man was in Zen mode for an hour + . The crowd was in awe
Yup, I saw him at the Royal Albert Hall in London ... Totally spiritual experience.
Wow, you have to hear the live performance of "Love is the Message" absolute brilliance ~
His bass player is son of Pino paladino. As my guy said above, check “love is the message” to hear the full band
Love is the Message introduced me to Yussef Dayes and Alfa Mist, life hasn't been the same since.
Yussef takes drumming to whole new level all of his own imho, for me it doesn't get much better than that far as I know. My favorite drummer for sure.
