I met him and talked to him. I'm a huge Dream theater fan but this guy is on another level in his head when it comes to music even from Dream Theater. His thinking and talent is unmatched. He is the best in the world all around and can play anything in every way as displayed here. He hears tones and patterns as you and i can speak. The best decision DT ever made was to make him a DT member.

Holy wow, that was EPIC! Jordan Rudess is an absolutely phenomenal musician. He rips it up and nails it every single time.
I would have loved to see Jordan actually learn the songs and building them up with extra keyboard layers instead of watching him do impro solos the whole time. So much wasted potential here.

Jordan is listening to the key of a random Song Pianote assigns to him, and his playing the same licks i hear him playing since 40 years now over the key of the song. It would be more interesting removing the keys of the assigned songs and let Jordan (rerecord) the song without knowing the original.

The fact at around 245 he worked out the main riff perfectly with 3 pattern examples is sensational

@lilkujo he means that around 2:39 he plays something very similar to what the main riff is
The guitar was cut out of the listen-through but the bass wasn't, so he was able to get a feel for the rhythm key. It's not a very complex riff!
When Jordan Rudess comes along and plays guitar better than any guitarist... on his keyboard... I hope the D does a collab... so cool.

Look for the "Animals as leaders" video and his dance moment. I'm a composer and work as this way, put music and then cut off all unnecessary when no time to multiple hearings of original material not mine.
