Fully agree. Also, don't forget the Ballade. Same or similar movement, but with an art deco-ish dial. I found mine brand new, at a UK discount clothing retailer for 250GBP, which is exceptional value for money.
I think that the PRX really made the whole "old money" look more accessible to everyone and was definitely more promoted, but i can't deny that the gentleman is a better watch overall
I have the ice blue version. Normally my sweet spot is 38-39mm but even at 40mm this was an excellent fit on my wrist. It’s comfortable, and best of all maybe I got lucky but my watch does -1 second a day
@@timepieceofart That was the main reason I didn't get the green gentleman and I really wanted to get the green version as I love the ice blue a lot. The cross sadly has been a deal breaker for many and I just wish they'd make one without it. I ended up getting a Seiko spb289 mystic forest and absolutely zero regrets for my green watch The ice blue gentleman is great. It looks and feels good on the wrist, and it gets a lot of time in the warmer months as I wear a lot of navy / darker blue and white clothes and the ice blue has a great contrast. The accuracy being -1 second a day is great too I just wind it a few seconds every couple days a bad adjust the time once a month. Yeah I wish it was 28800vph but 80hr standby is a nice tradeoff
I owned a Gentelman (blue, crosshair dial) but sold it off since it wears too large. I would rebuy it immediately if Tissot ever makes one in a 37/38mm size, since I love the dial that much.
This model doesn’t get its deserved attention, unfortunately. It is a much more mature and elegant choice than the bland popular PRX, imo. I own the blue dial version, with a black leather band- one of my most beautiful and well finished pieces- and certainly a favourite of mine!
@@timepieceofart more than 3 years, and I can say only positive things about it. It might have a bit of a lengthy lug to lug. I love wearing it, and I look at that dial like a teenager in love 😁.
Ive tried the PRX but i didnt like how it felt on my wrist. The Gentleman reminds me of my Datejust and it felt good on my wrist. I think the PRX feels like a much more lousier version of my Constellation but while my Constellation feels great, the PRX feels bad.
@@timepieceofart I feel like the Constellation is a really underrated model from Omega tbh. It’s classy, elegant and the integrated bracelet just feels so nice around the wrist.
its a great watch, just a shame that the bracelet is piece of cr@p. really digs into your arm. after a week I already switched to a leather strap although look wise I would prefer the metal bracelet. its time that wacth brands start improving the bracelets as well for lower price points
@@timepieceofart hmm well check out a Mido Commander day date twelve faceted bazel and also goldsand dial, prezidential bracelet. Code is Mido 8230. I paid 400 euro for it.

Why do you think so, i mean it offers a great movement, the finishing is spot on, so i don't see any reason to call it trash. I agree that Seiko offers great watches, but i really love Tissot because they offer great Swiss timepieces for relatively reasonable prices.
@@timepieceofart Not at all, I think the same of the oyster perpetual and those kind of watches, but for the price, this shows no luxury at all, even in a silent or subdued way, it has no distinctive features or anything really, I just think it's really dull and shows no innovation
Would love a more compact version 37-38mm
That would really make it a classic dress watch, i think it would suit a lot of people.
36mm
EXACTLY
Sound good to me 👍
This is one of my cheapest watches in my collection but my second most worn. It’s one of the most well put together watches under $3000
Have always love Tissots - especially the 60-70’s era
Fully agree. Also, don't forget the Ballade. Same or similar movement, but with an art deco-ish dial. I found mine brand new, at a UK discount clothing retailer for 250GBP, which is exceptional value for money.
I have mine (blue dial) for two years now, and it's a great watch for the price. I did pay U$ 700,00 at the Zurich airport shop. Use it every day.
Great value for money, glad to hear that you enjoy wearing your timepiece.
That is stunning! Why haven't I heard of that before?
Because they heavily promote the PRX even though the gentleman has better finishing and a slightly better movement
I think that the PRX really made the whole "old money" look more accessible to everyone and was definitely more promoted, but i can't deny that the gentleman is a better watch overall
Very handsome watch. Especially for the price point.

Too big, want this in 38mm 😢
That size may hit the sweet spot for many people
Yup, 36mm too for a real dress watch option.
I own this and it's beautiful
The Gentleman is a fantastic offering from Tissot
I couldn't agree more, very underrated watch in my humble opinion.
Date window at 6 will be cheery on top.
I agree, it would make the dial more balanced

Sorry to hear that, i really love the way it wears on my wrist. Whats your wrist size?
@timepieceofart around 6.5 in. I just felt it wore too large for the style of watch that it is. Hopefully they'll make a smaller one

That’s all great and stuff by why no 36mm version ? This watch is stunning but absolutely no option for me

53 mm l2l is ridiculous. You have to have log for a wrist for that to work
I think its a ok size for a 40 mm watch. What size would you prefer?
@@timepieceofart 40 mm diameter is ok, but the l2l should be max 46 mm, sub 45 is best
This thing looks & wears HUGE in person

That thing looks like a Wall Clock in person. Totally does not fit the Rolex OP style.
Now the poor rolex watche is no more tudor, its this tissot...cool
It's a gorgeous watch, truly remarkable that is available at that price point
Great but the plastic movement ruins it.
Sorry i think you have mistaken this movement with the one found in the PRX. The movement used in the gentleman doesn't contain plastic parts.
This looks too similar to a Datejust. It looks like it copied everything except the hour markers.
It definitely has Rolex Datejust vibes, but in a good way, not as a straight copycat
@timepieceofart
Vibe?? You must be joking. Its 95% copy of datejust Rolex
Nice but lug to lug to large.
Take out that dang crosshair on the dial and I would buy this beauty.
Honestly, i think the crosshair gives it the unique look. Would you consider other color or just the green dial, without the crosshair?
