You can’t just call any blue Tiffany blue, this colour literally bears no resemblance to actual Tiffany blue…
I guess Tiffany owns every shade of light blue
It's literally ICE BLUE looking as Tissot named it. Really don't know why this would be called anywhere near Tiffany Blue.
Not anywhere close. Some people who are colorblind are in denial.
My thoughts exactly
It's clickbait.
Mr. Hunter is right on the money with this review and especially about the dial. The layout and indices definitely give off a Grand Seiko vibe. Those guys and girls at Tissot have been stepping up their game the last couple of years and this watch is a great example of that!👌😎
Tissot, Hamilton and Longines the big three. You can get a pretty awesome collection with these brands, let alone Top-tier ETA movements.
Hallo, könnten Sie bitte sagen, diese Uhr oder Hamilton Murph 38 mm? Ich mag eigentlich 38 mm Uhr. Tissot Gentlemen ist aber 40 mm.🤷
I´m new to this watch world. Whats the difference between top-tier and Tissot? I find Tissot luxury. Am I wrong? I need a watch for a lifetime, what do you recommend?
@@am143-g1m in the world of luxury Swiss watches, Tissot and Longínes are entry level brands, with budgets under U$ 2.000,00. This Tissot Gentleman is, IMHO, a great model under U$1.000,00.
@@am143-g1m If you can afford a Rolex OP 41 go for it, If your budget is low, this Tissot is a great alternative, they both can be for a lifetime but for different budgets ;) There is also the Seiko SARX models, also a good alternative but I would say Tissot is a little better....
@@am143-g1m one thing to know about the watch world. You can wear/like whatever you want. Don’t let anyone tell you what’s bad or good. Live within your means, there’s an entry point for everyone.
I've added 6 Tissots to my collection over the last 4 years: they provide endless enjoyment at a great price.
Which 6 Tissot watches, if I may ask?
@@eyeheartsushi2212 titanium chrono, LeLocle, Seastar, Visodate, and 2 recieved as gifts, a T-Touch and a PRX auto
I guess you missed to emphasize silicium balance spring which is antimagnetic and differentiating factor from PRX
He forgot to talk about the most important difference!😂
I bought my Tissot Gentleman Powermatic at Nordstrom. I immediately noticed they had the price of the Quartz on the Automatic. I got lucky and they honored the price. I got the Automatic which is normally $800 for only $400 👍
Random lucky day.
It was the original dark blue, not the new ice blue, but I still love it.
PS: Gentleman > PRX
I looked at the PRX, it looks cheap to me compared to the Gentleman.
Douchy to take advantage of that mistake
@@fredriksvard2603 Douchy? Lol, thanks for your feedback. For what it’s worth, I also bought a $1,000 watch from them earlier that year that stopped working 6 months later after having worn it less than 5 times and I spent 5 years trying to get that watch fixed or serviced in 3 different states because the manufacturer went out of business 6 months after I bought the watch.
So… I think the Tissot deal was actually karma or divine intervention from the watch Gods to make up for the nightmare I had with the previous watch.
I’ve also spent tens of thousands of dollars at Nordstrom over the years and will continue to do so, specifically because of their excellent customer service.
PS: They could not service or fix the damaged watch I bought from them and no independent watch repair store wanted to touch it because they were afraid they might break it and there would be no way to fix it.
I liked the watch, which is why I spent 5+ years trying to fix it. After exhausting all options, I told someone at Nordstrom what happened and because I have been such an excellent customer there, they had someone from their corporate office contact me and try to help resolve it… yes, 5 years later.
That’s why I will continue to spend tens of thousands of dollars at Nordstrom for MANY more years to come.
They value their customers.
PPS: Calling a total stranger “douchey” on the internet is kind of… douchey.
Pot calling the kettle black my friend.
@@fredriksvard2603 At least in my country, consumer law obliges the seller to honnor whatever price tag is displayed to the public for any given product (except absurd cases, like a brand new car that normally costs US$30k/US$40K being tagged US$100.00). The offer obliges the seller to fullfil it. From supermarket aisles to luxury boutiques: if a product in display has 2 different price tags, the seller must honnor the less expensive one, period. No discussion. Even more so when it's just one price tag (with a lower price than the usual). When it happens with products of high value, normally the manager is called and besides confirming the sale for the cheaper price he/she commands the salesperson to remove the wrong tag from display. But there's never debate on which price tag should prevail as the law is well known by all.
I love my dark blue dial gentleman. I can't stop looking at the light play when it's on my wrist, and it has a very premium feel. Now that I've watched this video, the ice blue dial is on my radar, too. I also liked green dial, except for the sector markings. In terms of Tissot's colour choices, they are bang on for me.
Agreed I would trade in my green dial Gman towards the ice blue if given the opportunity
@moneymikz I wouldn't trade in my dark blue dial, though. I just want the ice blue as well. 😁
The dark blue Gentleman is on my radar, as well.
Ok so in summary “Damn good watch….damn good colour and damn good value”. Damn that’s great!
😂
Tissot employee here. Please, don't call this Tiffany blue. It's literallly called Ice Blue and you did such a good job remembering this fact for the description.
Thank u bro
Any chance for a smaller size gentleman? Like a 36/37?
Hello! I have one question. Tissot is luxury or not?
@edgarmarafuga143 Tissot is considered an "entry level" luxury brand. Definitely not on the same playing field as Rolex, IWC, Vacheron Constantain or Cartier but Definitely a solid brand.
Just my 2 cents about the price difference between the Gentleman vs the PRX is that the Gentleman is equipped with Silicon hairspring for anti magnetism. You only get to see silicon hairspring in watches Longines and upper tier brands.
I have the dark blue version but this ice blue version is really nice. It's like a fresh breath of air every time you look at it.
When talking about the movement and the upgrades over the prx, you should mention it's the powermatic 80 silicium, which has a silicone hairspring and a traditional escapement, over the plastic one in the prx. Great review otherwise!
Huge point. And, for nearly the same money. PRX is all hype.
I bought this model as my first mechanical watch and is very beautiful I highly recommend it, the only con is the bracelet scratch very easy, keeps time very well.
The Tissot Gentleman is a nice watch. But its color is not Tiffany blue, but light blue, or ice blue.
Tissot like Hamilton is a great product and value
Amen to that!
I bought the dark blue dial version. I think its a great watch for the money. The angles on the applied indices and the sun ray dial just look awesome in the sun. Its lacking in the lume dept but i bought it as a dress watch, not a sports watch.
Im ego invested so your mileage may very.
You say you rather opt for a TAG Quartz or Longines. Which ones?
And don’t forget the mouvement is high end in the Powermatic line.
Great review ❤
Exactly. And the PRX uses a low-end Powermatic, for nearly the same money.
Very nice n beautiful dress affordable watch with fantastic color dial 💪👍👏
Oh this one is beyond awesome! I still need a proper dress watch
I was tempted to go for a Visodate Tissot, but the reflective glass put me off.
Just bought this brand new for 742 USD, I work on a cruise ship so no tax and crew discount, it’s beautiful
I always am puzzled by the words “for the money” without a reference point . Which higher priced options do you feel this watch compares equally or favorably ?
I saw one in my local store, before this video and I thought it was a stunner. It looks really nice. Here in Australia, the price is getting up there (same as the UK). For that, you can get the cheapest Longines Quartz watches, though I'm not sure they look any better or are better quality. A bit more and you can get a Hydroconquest quartz that does look better. There is also the competition with more expensive Citizen (Series 8) and Seiko models that have better looks or finishing at this price point. A bit of a tough sell for sure and it's why I've held off.
any significant upgrade from the previuos model? Bracelet and micro adjust?
How could you suggest to remove the date window? It’s what makes it!?
Lovely watch, Harrison. What kind of watch box you have there in the background, btw?
Hold on, which comparable Longines could you possibly have in mind for a 300-400 pound bump over the price of this watch??? Am I missing a steal of a deal somewhere??? 11:04
You could buy two of these (with money leftover) for the cost of a Conquest 38mm which is also an ETA movement.
Looks great!
Can you tell us the minimum bracelet adjustment in mm please.
It's a lovely watch, great value. Not for me as I have this genre covered, but if I was considering it I would prefer the date at 6 if it really has to be there.
I would love brands to offer date or no date options for all models.
No words about Silicium Spring with a COSC performance?
I don't know if it's just my perception of Tissot, particularly because I saw them in airports growing up being heavily discounted. But I couldn't justify spending £800 on one, I would much rather own something like a Christopher Ward for that money, or look to stretch the budget towards Longines.
True but it’s easy to get the Tissot watches at a discount.
Yes, I had mine at like less than half that price on the grey market and it worked just fine. It's a very good watch, nice specs and you can feel quality in the weight when it's on your hands, but let's not get ahead of ourselves, it's not "gorgeous" or giving "Grand Seiko" vibes.
He's right about the scratches, and you'll notice them pretty easily, glass is great though.
Get a Gentleman at a discount, you wont regret it.
They have gone up a lot recently which is a big shame.
I am not saying its better than an OP, but it puts a bigger smile on my face.
I have a green on bracelet, and blue on a Crocodile Deployant.
Today I tried several different color variations and also the titanium versions of the Gentleman with the intention to get one but the bezel and bracelet look like they have been over polished and lost their crispness.
I love my glacier blue PRX Powermatic80 40mm and would love to add a Gentleman…except my next purchase is a Maen Manhattan 39 ultra thin green dial
I’m concerned on buying the prx or gentleman ..which do you recommend?
@@abdulrahmanassous2873 I have not seen a gentleman in person so I can not say for sure. I believe for a little extra money you can get a better version of the movement in the gentleman but I truly love my PRX and wear it daily Monday thru Friday
what is ur opinion on Tissot Gentleman Open heart over this watch???
My omega Deville has a butterfly clasp where you have to put the bottom end first and then the top end to close it it can be annoying but he they did it for safety reasons so it won't fly off but compared to my Longines with a butterfly clasp you can put top or bottom first but it does have double buttons.
The blue looks similar to the 75th anniversary Seamaster Aqua Terra
Tissot fanboy here 🙋🏽♂️
Same!
I own more tissots than any other watch and not a single regret @@ChisholmHunterOfficial
Same!
Quick release on the bracelet? Is this new?
This is the new "green." I think it looks solid though. Maybe 5 years form now this tiffany blue/ice blue thing might get old..I don't know...
Ive seen videos of the PRX movement containing plastic parts. The Gentleman models that have "silicium" written on the dial, do they contain plastic?
No Muhammad. Gentleman is hasnt plastic pieces. 🇹🇷
The pnly thing that bugs me about the butterfly clasp is the lack of any sort of microadjustment.
Fully automatic… so probably a very novice question here, but does it not have the hand wind hacking manually capability as well?
Blue dial? OG Cocktail time everyday.
I was planning to buy seiko presage but then i eventually ended buying this beauty.... Must say that this watch is elegant and eye catching!!!
@daliborsveti7296 no i purchased Tissot gentlemen ice blue
Wich Model is exactly that longines?
Come on. I think it’s basically a datejust 41 with smooth bezel right . U should say the obvious
what is your wrist size ?
Gorgeous and definitely not "Tiffany blue".
Really nice watch.
Upgrade : New Longines Conquest, but more than double the price…
I have a slim wrist and I really like the gentleman open heart, but I think the case and bracelet are just too big
wrist curls
IMO The Tissot Gentleman is probably one of the more unexpectedly, bland watches out there. The sum of its parts are far less interesting than the individual elements on it.
You look at the entire watch part by part, be impressed it's that cheap then when you look at the entire package, for some reason, for me, it just falls apart, really unfortunate, I prefer this over the Tissot PRX by principle because it'll probably stay in style for longer than the PRX.
I wouldn't say it "falling apart" but it's a bit bland. I like my Seiko presage more even if it's objectively a "worse" watch. Cheers!
I think the blue open heart version makes it fun/interesting again
I love the gentleman, but I just sold my green dial. Great watch with great value, but 40mm is too large. Didn't care about the size until I got a black bay 36, then I couldn't stand the gentleman because it felt too bulbous and the elegance was missing in comparison. I'd buy another in a flash if they were 36-38mm
I agree: that opening shot in ths video really highlights the too big size.
My low-limit is 39mm for dress watches but in general I agree with you.
I hate clickbait headline. Tiffany is not general title for any blue dial. That's baby blue color
Anything is better than the prx.
it’s not great. The laughable thing is for another £1000 they could’ve had an absolutely brilliant watch. i’ve looked at this area of the watch Market upside down inside out and by far best value proposition is the twelve at that price followed by B&M Riviera.
Longines conquest 39 automatic helloooo?? :)
I own the Gentleman, but I would go for the new heritage COSC if I was looking for a nice entry level watch, and I agree if you have a couple grand available go for longines spirit 37 or 39 GMT
Which one is that, the 1938?
@@eyeheartsushi2212 Yup 👍
@@jhrodriguez08 Have it on my radar. The salmon dial 😉
The addiesdive look ??
Why people call tiffany blue to every light blue dialed watch? This is more of an ice blue and it has nothing to do with the Tiffany color. The Tissot that is the closest to that color is the PRX Mint dial (quartz). Not even the PRX Ice blue. Not even the Citizen Tsuyosa. I could go on....90% of the watches I see people calling Tiffany blue are not even close to the original color.
I have bought this watch a week ago 🇮🇳
pretty dam tiffany blue.
dunno how many times you said dam
Dam…
Longines are better than Tissot overall, but not for an extra 300 pounds on top of the Gentleman. You will get a mediocre offering from Longines, whereas this Tissot is extremely good for the price.
U wrist size?
Sub second markers? Why???
They aren't on the quartz one.
Looks like my boss
max blue from twenty years ago.boss missed something
homage to oyster perpetual 😂
Show me a Longines for 200 more that is as beautiful as this one.
Great watch besides that it has a plastic spacer
Not really Tiffany blue. Ice blue looks very different
Everything light blue isn’t Tiffany blue… very clear especially in person
I wish it was 38mm.
It's not tiffany blue though.
Tiffany AKA Pantone 😂
the gentleman is the better PRX. But calling everything tiffany is just stupid.. they literal have a prx "tiffany" which is mintgreen and this is tiffany blue? ^^ But valuewise i would always recommend the Citizen Tsuyosa, they are very often in sale and you can get them for 200 bucks.
Yes, it nearly enters the territory of Longines, but: in my opinion the Powermatic 80 Silicium can’t be compared to a quartz movement.
When I compare the Tissot Gentleman to the Longines Conquest (not the new model from 2023, I mean the previous one) the build quality of the longines doesn‘t need to hide, it at least at the same stage. And with the new model of the conquest, also the price nearly doubled.
People gotta stop comparing all light blues too Tiffany blue, they didn’t invent that color. That being said this looks nothing like Tiffany blue.
Did I hear him say "niggles" at 5:55?
Just found this beauty at £520, bargain
Damn
Damn damn damn damn damn
Wait till bro discovers Chinese watches
Doesn't look anything like Tiffany Blue 😂
nICE
It’s more expensive because of the movement and not the bracelet 🙄
40mm isn't a dainty watch. It's pretty damn borderline clown size
That’s never been Tiffany Blue 😂
As stated previously, nothing like Tiffany blue, how irritating that you keep referring to it👎
Too big for a dress watch IMO.
Why do you keep saying "pretty damn" throughout the video?
another dork calling any shade of blue Tiffany blue
This isn't a tiffany blue and doesn't even resemble from any angle...and its far better color and more classic and blend in with anything kind of watch🤦🏻
its literally the definition of an everyday watch... wtf are you smoking
This is not even close to Tiffany blue. Lmao.
This color isn’t even remotely close to Tiffany blue.
I dont get who this watch if for. If you wear a suit and have "made it" buy a Rolex, this watch doesn't really suit a T-shirt & jeans look...and that's 90% of us! But that's just me and watches are different for everyone.
Young professionals, graduates, people who can't justify rolex prices etc.
It's something of quality. Maybe not extravagant but still solid quality watch.
Straight up click/algorythm bait calling it tiffany blue. Not even close. Very shameless and unprofessional tbh.
Caliber is a let down.
Pagani Design do much the same, but with a Jubilee bracelet for £60
there is no way you are not joking, yeah?
I agree, instead of one, you purchase 10, right? Because it breaks that often and the service is more than the watch itself. You are so smart, they even beat Rolex.
I have two Pagani's and am not ashamed of it. The Omega Moonwatch "homage" and the Rolex Submariner, also "Homage" (which is french for fake.) I bought them because I wasn't sure about the original which I couldn't see in the flesh, and Pagani makes exact replicas. In case of the Rolex, I knew right away I shouldn't buy the original. To bulky on my wrist. And I have a 20 cm/8 inch wrist., who would have thought that? The Moonwatch fake, sorry homage, I loved, and I bought the original later. I recommend Pagani highly. Great fakes, and they don't make a secret out of it. Damn. Saffire glas. Seiko Movement. How can they do that.
@@TheHarryb first of all Homage does not mean fake.. and Pagani also does not make homage watches they just make fake watches which is theft and everyone who buys stuff like that is a creep. If you wanna know if the original does fit your wrist just go to an AD and try it out it's not that hard. "they don't make a secret out of it" yes they do..they never tell which watch inspired their model, they use their own name on a 1 to 1 design from the original. Also their automatic movements are cheap, the finishing is atrocious.. just buy a good original Seiko or if you don't wanna spend more than 50 dollars then buy a Casio at least they make good watches.
@@pacisking Thank you for sharing your immeasurable wisdom. Very beautifully articulated too.
