Don't know if you got the meaning of the song or not... It's about the regret he did as a soldier, what horrors he has seen broke his mind, body and spirit.
My husband is a Vietnam veteran. PTSD is devastating, and I appreciate the soldiers especially the ones who were dissed as in that war. Sucks a lot of youth and enjoyment out of wonderful people. I love how strong my husband is despite his shattering experiences! ❤️.
Prayer of the refugee, make it stop, and help is on the way. All very good songs and very very good messages. (But you must watch the music videos if you do those)
I have to say that the reaction to this song bothered me a little bit. It's about the horrors soldiers experience and how not everything they do is good. It's about the pain of having to carry the weight of what you did overseas once you come home again. I definitely recommend listening to more Rise Against because there's so much meaning in the songs they write.
Five finger death punch - wrong side of heaven And Five fingered death punch - gone away They also highlight exactly what you have mentioned with so much raw emotion and imagery. 🙌🏼🇦🇺
No song can tell the story a soldier has to tell in his head alot of soldier not only have issues overseas but at home as well we loose alot because our bodies are not are our own we have no choice if we don't listen our lives and our families are over pretty much over no help and your shunned your property while your in the military and only service members could understand being slaves in today's modern America
a little different, this is more about the war crimes america does and the lies they tell people to go "Serve", its all for bs and the vets come back and left to deal with all of it, FFDP are more like "look at how bad the vets have it, its sad, their friend died" and dont really seem to mention the horrific things america did, like in this song by rise against when they speak about how we treated prisoners over there@@joshfreeman5488
You guys seriously need to listen to more Rise Against. Listen to 'Savior' and pay attention to the lyrics. You'll get some views - guaranteed. They're a lyrical band, so maybe do a video to the lyric video version. They really are one of the best rock bands of the last 30 years and their message is for justice, equality and respect for the world. I hope you see this as you really need to listen to more of their music. THEY ARE THE SHIT! Peace!
I dont cry for anything but this song does it every time. What are we doing to our military? This is the saddest thing ive ever heard. They deserve better than this.
mutt streams if you can’t separate a shitty war started by shady ass world leaders with agendas from the normal, decent people that actually serve in the military, then you need to “think about that sentence again.” The song is anti-war because war takes good people who believe they are doing right (even if that’s not actually the case) and breaks them down and twists them. It forces them to make shitty decisions on a regular basis that can end or ruin lives. Then, if they manage to survive, the world asks them to flip a switch, and go back to their old lives like nothing happened. War is shitty, the people who start them are shitty, but the people who choose to serve usually aren’t.

This song exemplifies the ptsd and trauma the military puts on its soldiers.

Salute to all the anit-war activists. Especially those turned from soldiers to peace activists.

I dont cry for anything but this song does it every time. What are we doing to our military? This is the saddest thing ive ever heard. They deserve better than this.
And what are we doing to people around the world? They also deserve better.
Been my favorite band since 2002. Gotten. Through a lot of hard times. Do give it all, and prayer of the refugee....
Swing Life Away great as well
i think you missed the meaning of the song, its anti-military
you should check out more of their stuff, great band with some great messages
I cry every time I hear "A flag white as snow".. its the biggest turning point in the song, if you miss it, you miss the meaning of the song.
Its anti war not anti military.

@@anarchobaby its like saying it's not anti gun its anti bullets
The imagery in the lyrics takes me to places I’ve never been…
That’s a truly amazing talent to be able to do that to someone.

Sorry, you missunderstood the meaning of this song completely......i am not just a big RA fan, but “even“ as a german I got the meaning
Careful saying big RA fan. RA is often used as slang for the IRA
