Learning to maintain your motorcycle is as important as learning to ride. I was fortunate when I was young that my dad was big on me doing proper maintenance to my dirt bike. That included keeping everything clean and lubricated, adjusting and lubing the chain, changing the oil, etc. It was also important to pull the wheels periodically, clean out the hubs and lubricate the brake cams. This ensured that the brakes worked properly and lasted a long time (I don't recall ever having to change brake shoes). He taught me that if you take care of your machine your machine will take care of you.
It sounds like that starter is dragging a little. I think when you get the new one on it will crank with the plugs in. I enjoy all of your videos and am really looking forward to this tractor rebuild. Thanks for all you do!
ya i agree the chrome needs to go and the exhaust clamp there looks turned a bit might need to give that a twist so you have plenty of room for the intake pipe
Bill, It looks like the serial number on your tractor is 9N127691 which makes this tractor a 1944 Ford 2N, not a 9N! I can also see a 1943 casting date code on the block! Which makes it a 2N!
well heres a real close pic of the ser # i don't get the numbering facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10158207084978914&set=pcb.3059945074062360&type=3&ifg=1&__tn__=HH-R&eid=ARB9kSa0bYUzQzWLrOL3lMFCjghMPlwEG1-byqM54feaOaJOniT32Nm3jlnK2YjwWVZmhjzkhaCmjwzH
I looked at your picture of the serial number on Facebook. The serial number is: 9N127691 which makes this tractor a 1944 Ford 2N! I hope this info helps!
Not Necessarily our jubilee pushes the air from the engine and vents out the front of the tractor. It helps keeping the engine clean when you are in messy straw and such
Heya Bill, awesome videos. What's your long-term plan with the 419N? Are you going to do some sheet metal work and replace any rusty panels? Are you going to strip , clean and repaint it?

My guess is the bearings in the bushings are all buggeredon it Cross members
it's positive ground
Yep, engine is turning backwards if you watch the fan.
@@finncampeau4922 It does when Bill connects the battery cables backwards. :-)
This isn't the first N-series tractor he has tinkered with, how would he not know they are 6-volts positive ground?
I’m not sure on that. It’s converted to 12v

You can make custom battery cables from welding cable.
Need to give the tank a peek a boo with a inspection cam at some point
Yeah should do that before I put gas in again. Good idea
Fit a battery disconnect switch that has a hole for a padlock. Then you can use a coded padlock and it will not have a key.
Is that Sherman a two speed or just overdrive?
funny blow the face off or the berries between the battery lol hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh my
Well it’s a Sherman. Not sure what way. But I think it’s a high gear Sherman
Hey if I can remember correctly I believe you should still have extra battery cables from when you were working on the JD110tlb a few years ago.
dont see why it needs a screen the whole point of the thing is to catch the crap from the tank in the bottom of the bowl in the first place
i think the bowl is for water and the screen gets the dirt
A engineers dream a mechanics nightmare?
Hey I’m the first view. Good vid. Always love the rl vids
