I disagree with this former lawmaker's perspective on the benefits of the Unicameral. Describing the Unicameral as, "one of the worst things to come out of the 20th Century" is a bit...interesting. I think there's a reason he wasn't elected after serving two years of being appointed. His perspective seems rooted in the fact that he wants more partisan control of the Legislature, not actually issues with the Unicameral System.
The reason no other states have reformed to a unicameral legislature system is because of the momentous institutional challenge it presents - not because it's an idea without strong merit. It was a perfect storm that allowed Nebraska to pull it off, and no small victory.
