    I have seen people do this turn lots recently and was SO close to just trying to kick my air leg back and forth to see if it turns me LOL thanks for the video it probably saved my bones:) time to practice!

    OMG, OMG, OMG ( yup I'm yelling ) I have been waiting my whole life for this tutorial! I'm in my 40's so this was a long time coming. I just picked up my skates again ~3 yrs ago after a ridiculous hiatus of IDK maybe 20 -30yrs or so. Anyway, I consider myself these days an intermediate skater and have wanted to learn how to turn on one foot for lol 3 yrs. Seriously, I stopped paying a bill so I could see this. I CAN NOT WAIT, (yelling again) to try this. Thank you. Thank you and Oh yeah Thank you! Now back to begrudgingly paying this bill.

    OK this was the best tutorial for 3 turns I've ever seen. I'm 39 and learned to skate as an adult and never did drills. 3 turns always gave me issues because nobody ever really explained it to me in detail. I love you and your Snack Area 💜

    Just decided to switch from in-lines to quads (partially due to your videos!)! I don’t wanna dis blades...BUT roller skates are SO much more fun! Been on them for a week and cannot wait to get to the point where I can groove around rinks! Keep ‘em coming Debbie (pretty please)!! Maybe one day I’ll get to come visit FVSC!!! I’ve been devouring your tutorials and sharing with my friends (secretly trying to get them hooked and start a little crew here in SLC)!

    This is so fluid.. we moved and I don't have easy access to skate-able terrain anymore.. it's a struggle. I went from skating everyday to once every other month.

    Im nowhere near being able to do a 3-turn BUT i am dipping my toes into as much as I can. Today i practiced doing bubbles fwd and bckwd and moving one foot ahead while doing it. I cant believe i actually am,improving faster than i thought! I will definitely be practicing skating on one foot and so i will revisit this video in a few weeks or months :)

  • @jimbobaggans1564
    @jimbobaggans1564 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Great explanation of the 3 turn. I've always found that it's easier turning one side than the other. So practice going all directions. Both to the left and to the right, inside and outside. Even though one side is not as comfortable as the other. Do that uncomfortable side more. It will pay off. As Debbie says, practice, practice, practice.

  • @franksheffield133
    @franksheffield133 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    THIS is what we on the East Coast call Snapping. It is a MAJOR feat to get the balance on one foot stable enough to do this fluidly. I have found that before attempting this you HAVE TO HAVE ultimate ability to balance on one foot going forward & backwards. This is a beautiful and cool move but is also one of the most dangerous and injury related techniques in skating (Ask Me How I Know)
    Thank you for all you do!!
    We are watching you at my rink and you are often the topic of conversation!!

    Yay!! Love this breakdown. Your 3-turns are so gorgeous and smooth AND stylish. I’ve been working on my LOF 3-turns for months and I am still shaky after the turn; maybe it’s time to add a little speed before making that pivot, and I will definitely take the advice on prepping the move by holding that outer edge firmly first. I also need to keep the free leg behind me; I’ve been using it to give me momentum when making the pivot and I’m guessing it’s a bad habit. I really want to perfect this turn so I can improve on one-leg spins! Thank you so much for the advice and motivation through these fantastic videos! 🙏🏽

    Idk if anyone sees it but my tip for learning these is to put just one skate. Ik it sounds (and looks) dumb but it really gave me more confidence with the pivot bc if smth went wrong I could land on the foot with a shoe. Then after you get better just switch to both skates.

    I just manage to master them but when the court is too busy where I skate outside. I practise my 3turns in line not circle on fairly quiet street. I learn to do them on outside edges too. They are more easy, but I just literary notice that the turn is backwards unlike the inside edges. I hope one day I manage to practise and master them in circle too. Thanks for your videos. ❤️

    YES! I am so glad I finally found this video. Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! I have been looking forwards to improving my 3-turns. It’s definitely a different feel on wheels than on the ice, and having the control on the exit edge and that “check” position to stop the rotation. Sometimes I get tippy by leaning forward too much and going onto the toe-stop at the top of the turn. Please keep these 3-turn videos coming! Can you please post forward inside 3-turns next, and then the really tricky backwards outside 3-turns and the backwards inside 3-turns? This will be a great tutorial on figures!

    Perfect timing! I've been wanting to try this, and have been working on it while on the carpeting at my rink, but I think that doing it on the carpet - of course - it just doesn't have the same feel to it as it does on the floor. I'm not getting it as fast as I should be - or could be - since the carpet is slowing me down a bit...but I'm also terrified to try it on the smoother (slippery) floor. LOL I know I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and do it eventually. Alas, it's only Thursday so I'll have to wait until tomorrow night to attempt it on the floor. We always go a bit early now that one of my girls is working there (as a floor guard, in snack bar, and they're going to train her on admission/ticket booth this week, too!) so sometimes I'm allowed on the floor before the official session starts. Makes it much easier to practice when you're not worried about kids running into you. Sadly, being in Ohio, we've hit our "it's almost winter so it's rainy all the time" season so no more outdoor skating until at least March/April. :(

    Your videos have been encouraging for me. Yesterday it finally stopped raining and I tried out my new Candi Girl skates. Well things went south quickni tripped over an acorn and speed down hill into my drive way face plant then fall on my cushion. But I laughed it off said get up and moved on thanks to you 😁 now I know acorns are the devil 😅

      @Sarah-Chan You can’t do with them fat gripping wheels we have for derby though :/ Need tinier trick wheels
