Dirty, you’re such a great teacher! I’ve been watching all of your videos for weeks while waiting for my skates to arrive. THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO BE HERE TOMORROW! I can’t wait. I was hell-on-wheels as a kid on steel-wheeled, clamp-on sidewalk skates. I don’t remember ever falling down outside. Loved going to the rink, too, where I definitely did fall down. But, it never stopped me. Kids bounce. Now I’m old, fat, weak, and somewhat brittle. But, I’m determined to get back on skates... with dorky looking safety gear to protect my brittle bones... and cruise my little neighborhood. I’m looking forward to getting stared at, ‘cause I’ll be waving at everyone and having a blast! Thanks for your great videos!

G'day young lady. I'm in Australia & these day's an old fart. I recently put my old Hockey skates in for boot repairs. Its been at least 25 years since lacing them up. I used to skate every day when I was younger & still have confidence that I can do it. So I laced up for 15min yesterday. Man my balance is there but sketchy I still have sideways & reverse gears but same sketchy. I watched this video of yours & you reminded me of so pointers that I had forgotten about being a crusty old bloke now. I thought I'd just give it another go now to build up fitness. I'd like to say thanks mate for the reminders. I definitely tune back in to say G'day. Thanks mate. Stay safe kind regards Ian

This move was so helpful for me in getting the hang of forward outside edges!! It was hard for me to feel mentally comfortable leaning into the outside edge because there’s no foot out there to catch you if you lose your balance.... unless you have your other foot ready to do a cross over :) plus it’s such a fun way to get groovy when skating forward. Love this tutorial

Keep posting videos even if you feel its too much like figure skating! It's so fun to learn new skills and work them into whatever skate style you do, helps so much with practicing balance and control too.

I loved skating as a young girl and after watching a video bought some skates and have been skating around in my house. My hubby is worried about me falling and breaking something. I’m 59 but in good shape and find this is a wonderful cardio workout. I’m trying to get confident enough to go to a rink or outside somewhere. You are a great teacher, and I wish I had these videos when I was young. If I ever get to California, I’m coming to skate with you. 😁

I would die for a rink half of that 🤍 damn I didn’t know how much I missed skating till I put skates back on. 17 years later.
I’ll have to brush up on ALL the skills but I can’t wait! So glad I found your channel!!

Loved the intro and outro on this!! Once again, a beautiful video with phenomenal explanations. You have singlehandedly taught me to skate. Thank you for all of the videos you have made and continue to make! Will there be a video on backward crosses?
