i just played through this game for the first time and i was surprised they actually let you make this choice. before it happened i was thinking to myself “i wish i could choose to join him” and then it gave me the option and i sat speechless. a lot of games have a set way they want the story to end so i really didn’t think they would let you choose the “bad choice” but i’m really glad they did. annnnddd he’s technically… not… your cousin… 👀👀😂

He is LITERALLY the ONLY character I CARED about and LOVED! I worked to keep the peace but if fates going to be this cruel, I can be crueler. Because I'll choose him, my biggest support and encourager over ALL of them EVERYTIME. People suck anyways, why should I be any different if life pits me against my loved ones.

It is true Costantin wasn't a native and saint, and has got insure and greed but in same time he was a nice boy who really loves his cousin that would share o forgive. If God gave him a possibility and not letting kill his healer I am sure the healer could teach him and help his heart and Costantin wouldn't became mad of power

@@zerosorigin8387 Advocating on the part of Vinbarr and En on mil frichtimen, they explicitly tell that the excessive, indulgent life of the renaigse had led to the emergence of the malichor. And the natives were reasonably prejudiced against the renaigse that invaded their land, took their kin away to be converted (breaking their bond with the earth to bond them with the light) and being tortured inhimunanely to find a cure over the malichor.
So you couldn't expect Vinbarr (who was away from the Natives, contemplating on his path to become a Nadaig) to be as accommodating towards the renaigse as Duncaas or Ullan were. Even Mev, the one supposed to have the cure for Malichor (as Burhan and his Savants claimed), was hostile at first. But when De Sardet saved her from the Alliance saboteur, she recognised the friendliness of the On ol menawi. Similarly, Vinbarr could be given the benefit of doubt to protect his land from the renaigse when Constantin was seen bonding with the Earth.
And if we are attributing Vinbarr for Constantin's demise, I would point out that Asili, under Burhan's orders, poisoned Constantin the moment he stepped on New Serene. So I hold that asshole Savant responsibile for whatever happened.

The Best Ending: You broker peace between all the factions of the world, find a cure for Malichor, and find a balance between the continent and the natives, with natives beginning to visit the continent to help people heal and people on all sides beginning to open up and start learning from the natives and teach them the ways of the continent in turn; Theleme opens up to the idea that Saint Matheus worshiped en ol Frichtimen and begin the grueling task of reshaping centuries of dogma to keep with the truth; furthermore the Bridge Alliance completely abandons their inhuman research methods and establishes an ethics council; knowledge is spread throughout the world, including the Nauts beginning to share their secret sciences of naval travel; the Coin Guard expel all their dissidents and once again become honourable

I did everything good in this game, then I got this scene. Kill or Link; just these two options, man, it made me feel awful. Was I ever tempted to get the bad ending. The good ending is pretty fairy tale- you basically achieve world peace, but the killing scene to achieve it all was De Sardet stabbing Constantin like that...such a brutal betrayal. I wanted a proper boss fight with Constantin.
I still picked the good ending and I didn't want to go through the boss fight again so I'm checking this video out. I gotta say, being new gods and breaking tradition sounds pretty "romantic"...in a sense, and I'm pretty sure Constantin was in love with our character and knew about their actual origins. The bad ending actually seems like canon material since it sets up a huge conflict. If Spiders is planning a sequel this would be perfect for it. You playing a native, un-accepting of the new gods, on a quest to end the corruption.

Well, i actually change my mind about Constantin. Now I'm happy with better world ending. I looked up him closely and in my opinion he can't love anybody, but himself. In his narrow understanding of love he is somehow attached to De Sardet, but he always is more important for him. He is manipulative. He decided that undermining our hard work is what we need to be happy with him. He didn't ask what we want. He just decided. And i don't believe he gone crazy after ritual anymore. He was acting normally. That cruel person was a real Constantin. That's almost always happens with people who tend to grumble often, or who was bullied. When they get power they stoped acting nice and humble - becoming cruel etc. That game opened my eyes - it's really hard to see through someones real intentions, manipulations if that person is nice for us. Constantin was somehow victim of circumstances, but that awful circumstances just showed his real character. I wouldn't destroy everything for someone like that. He just don't deserve it. If he would be a really good person, not just smart schemer he would want to do something good with his powers, but he end up mirroring his awful father. Well... If Asili would have sad back story and was nice to us... Nah... I would kill him anyway....

bat32391 Because we’ve already seen what colonialism can do to a Native population. The Mayans, the Incans and the Aztecs and the Native American tribes. All destroyed or reduced to basically human zoos.
These people came onto a land that wasn’t theirs and decided that it was. The Natives have every right to kick them off the island.
As for the people who are sick, who cares? Its not the old world deserves to be saved corruption and pollution are probably rife there.
Not to mention the religious side of things. The colonists want to convert the natives from a sensible earth respecting/worshipping religion to one of their stone cold religions that condones burning people alive.
As far as I am concerned, the colonists have no right to be on that island.

It was tough to not choose Constantin, but I had De Sardet romance Siora and to me in my head canon he was slowly getting in touch with his native roots, had him put on purple moded native warrior armour.
Shame that you couldn't save constantin from his madness, could've been a skill check for max charisma and max Intuition or something..

    **spoilers**
came here after finishing the game with "good ending" and holy shit. this one is actually as sad. :\
the kill constantin option didnt even have him fight us back after being stabbed, and i thought he would at least retaliate and done some final boss shit, and try to kill us that made me feel better for stabbing him. but he didnt.
now looking at this ending... bruh, neither ending is "good" in my book

Best ending, imo. Constantine is the only one I cared about the entire game. And I don't buy the "and they lived happily in peace and brotherhood ever after" of the good ending anyway.

Depending on what you’ve done in the game and managed to unite and reconcile all groups, then you’re efforts mean nothing if you join him. Personally, I prefer the ending where you have chosen balance but some allies are dead.

A creaking sound behind Constantin revealed the remnants of the old God 'en on mil frichtimen,' as ever in the form of a tree, who cried out in accusation, "He himself is the incarnation of the old world he is speaking of . . . He has its vices and its poison . . . For his own immortality, he is prepared to destroy everything around him . . . to break millennia of cycles . . ."
It was at that moment that I was more sure than anything that I was to take the side of my beloved against this whining tree. The tree had "millennia" to work with, yet ended up here? And to what end? I doubt it had the intelligence to explore that question: it wouldn't be given the opportunity.
The dying god-tree continued, "I implore you, flesh of my land, think of all the lives that will come to an end to feed his pride!"
And so I did, and I felt joy.

Constantine was a spoiled prince who did whatever he wanted and was always rescued by his cousin. Sure his father was a dick, but does that excuse him? No. And he didn't do it for his cousin. He wanted power for himself so no one could hurt him again. Just like a child.
