  • Your bike comes from the factory, heavily restricted. Even the newest one that touts "more power". No matter how hard you twist the throttle, it never delivers more than 91% throttle...
    I show you how to go in and change that, yourself. This is a common practice, not just on Triumphs, but almost every manufacturer creates restrictions for sound, emissions, or just to create a power profile that their marketing dept feels is best suited for their target audience.
    And like most bikes today, you are leaving power on the table if you don't flash the ECU.
    You need an Android phone, the TuneECU app and a correct Bluetooth Adapter:

      Use this map, and ride it in Sport Mode. That's the one that I unrestricted and made the throttle a bit more aggressive and linear. Added back in the ignition timing they pulled to a still safe and conservative 36 degrees up top, reset the AFR targets to 13.2, the cooling fan will come on sooner, and added a bit of fuel to the typical lean areas for the X-Pipe...

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don't have to edit the F tables... Go to F1 and slide to the LEFT of that screen to access the trim tables. There should be all 0's... You can modify that screen, and whatever you put in those cells will be adding or subtracting that number as a percentage... So 5 would add 5% to whatever is in the F tables. -5 would subtract 5%, and so on... If you have the stock airbox and CAT in place, just add 5% in the 0% throttle column up to 1,300rpm, and then all the way to 5,000rpm and 10% throttle. That's your cruise range that is normally kinda lean, so add a bit of fuel there and see how it feels.

      I just opened up both the Thruxton RS and the Speed Twin maps in Tune ECU, and that is EXACTLY what they did. The Thruxton ETV tables have higher values in them, and at 100% throttle, they have 100's in them instead of 90.7.... It still tapers off a bit up top, but even the tapered off numbers are 10% higher than the Speed Twin's... • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It simply lets the motor operate as it was designed to. On older bikes, there was a physical cable from the throttle to the throttlebodies. When you pulled to 100%, they opened all the way. Now its done in software. When you put 100 in there, it makes it more like the older bikes, where when you ask for 100%, it has to deliver 100%.
      This isn't unique to Triumphs, most bikes with ride by wire do this, and that is why everyone gets their ECU flashed these days. You can tune all day with a power commander, but you can't get rid of those restrictions without flashing the ECU.

We have the same motor that the Thruxton has. But the Thruxton has a bit more peak power. The reason is that our bike is held back, while the Thruxton is not.
      Same with the Street Triple R and RS. The RS has higher peak power. That's because the R has a limiter in place like the Speed Twin. With the case of the R, it only delivers 100% power until 6500rpm, and then tapers down to 81% from there to the 12,200rpm redline...
      Triumph took the same motor, with the same tune, but restricted one in order to create two different peak power numbers at two different price points. But you can restore an R to the full RS power profile, the same way as the the Speed Twin and others.
      It's cheaper for companies to produce one motor for different models, and then create different power profiles in software. Far cheaper than building different motors for each product...

      @@SquireSCA Nice does the trottle rework somewhat give error codes or blinking dash lights?^^ I´ll get it brandnew and dont want my warranty to go away.
      Need to compete with my brothers Street Triple RS now ;)

      @@DrHakennase Any time you flash the ECU, you risk voiding the warranty. Also, it won't make your bike compete with a Street Triple RS. His bike is much lighter, makes more power, handles better, etc... They are two different class of bikes.

    Just turn the TC off completely. I don't understand the need for restricted throttle response/max power on a bike with "only" 100 horsepower anyway.

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with the throttle restrictions, there is no need for that. But traction doesn't limit power. You get max power with traction on. It just ensures that your power doesn't exceed your grip, because at that point, you are losing acceleration anyway...

    Hey SquireSCA, I noticed in your video you have both far right columns at 100 and then later you have only far single right column at 100, Which map did you use? Thanks

      I used 31127 for mine and I went with both right columns set to 100

      @@SquireSCA Thanks, I did get my 2022 Speed Twin tuned as per your video and I have to say it makes 1 hell of a difference. I noticed that I don't need to twist my wrist nearly as much now. It also reminds me of back in the day when we got to hear the 4 barrel on a V8 kick in with just a stomp of the foot. Nothing like a cable to get the job done. Now thanks to your video I get to enjoy that sound on my motorcycle... All the way to redline.. Thanks again

      @@donjingle4059 Glad it helped! I also found that in that area that they restricted with the throttle tables, they also pulled about 3.5 degrees of timing. Expect a video to show that mod, I am flashing it and testing it now. :-)

      Is that bike ride by wire, or a traditional cable throttle?

      Yeah, so you can tune it, but there won't be any of these crazy throttle restrictions in place, because those are done in the ride by wire tables, which you don't have.

      Well... the video shows you how to create the unrestricted map for your bike, and I have other videos showing how to use TuneECU to flash your bike's ECU with the new map.

    Hate all this new modes trend. Learn to use throttle instead.

      I mean, MotoGP bikes have ride modes, engine maps, traction control maps, etc... Nobody ever accused Rossi of not knowing how to ride.
      These electronic systems are better and faster than anyone that will ever read this... lol
