I have mixed feelings about this. Its kind of frustrating they let you film this tbh. Doofs are meant to be a place of acceptance and free of judgement where you can do what you want and be you and I feel like filming these people in their vulnerable states kind of violates that side of the culture.
Filming at doofs like this is normally very frowned upon because it shatters that safety from judgement from the outside world. Sure these guys consented in their intoxicated state but its not really a good look and I am sure some of them wouldn't be happy with how they have been portrayed.
This isn't just a public nightclub, this is a place where the etiquette and culture should be respected.

I was about to comment the same! Was nice to see a peaceful festival but unless consent was obtained when the attendees were completely sober, this shouldn’t have been posted on the internet. Hopefully all people shown gave their consent to be filmed in their vulnerable states.

Yeah, went to a few of these when I was backpacking around Queensland. Was a bit of a different vibe than this with literally just a clearing in the bush with a pond, a dj hut with decks and a couple of pa speakers. A butterfly as large as a crow landed on my arm and was just chilling. To this day I don't know if it was real or not.

I know they are showing people on drugs in this video. But these types of events not everyone goes just for drugs. Some of us just go for the music/community & atmosphere. I myself love going to music event sober and let the hype of the event do the rest

My step-dad tells me about how he went to bush doofs in the 90s/00s completely sober, and would be dancing 'til sunrise while cookers were asking him how the hell he was going without any drugs.
Fun for a visit, recommended at least once on the journey of life, but most of them stayed way too long and are just there for the drugs. I don't know how anyone can "party" on LSD it's such a powerful drug that completely reshapes what you thought reality was and who you are.

All festival goers will agree that it’s really insensitive and disrespectful to film people at doofs. These are places where people should feel supported and safe to express themselves, not to have cameras pointed at them whilst they’re in vulnerable states of consciousness. This is honestly some of the lowest content.

I did my run through the doof phase for quite a while and I'm glad to have gotten out of it. This video doesn't really do a good job of depicting what it's like though. Going with a good bunch of mates with a few slabs of beer, and shit talking all night long while camping to loud music can be awesome. The food stalls are always insanely good, or you can just have a camp fire and bbq some shit (if the site allows for it). Just don't get sucked into the neo-Western spirituality bs and it's a good time in its own league. I've only been to one underground doof in NSW since I played there, so can't speak for the whole NSW scene but the people were great and a big mix.
If you're going to go to a doof, VIC is probably your best bet - at least for good full-on psytrance. WA if you want forest and twilight psy (way too cooked for me). QLD for more bass music. Outer NSW
Dragon Dreaming is also a good one in NSW.
Doofs are good, and it's important to our culture to connect to the land while absolutely shitfaced and starving.

Depends on the doof/festival. About half the ones I've been to feel like most people there are actually really Earth-conscious and open-minded and intelligent, and have contributed to a more sustainable society, and also just wanna love everyone.

Bush doofs aren’t all illegal… usually they’re on someone’s property who is paid to have it there. It’s just an awesome party. I feel sorry for these guys in their early twenties who seem to feel as though it’s not okay to really let your hair down and have fun.
